5 Nicholai in particular has always bugged me. He’s pretty much the biggest karma houdini in the series especially since Wesker bit it 10 years ago.

Ive been playing through Resident Evil Revelations and its decent. The Jill stages on the Zenobia are fantastic though I’m not a big fan of the moreaction heavy levels where you play as other characters. The one exception being the first flashback mission where you fight through an army of hunters. This game also has a really strong roster of monsters with my favorites being the standard Ooze enemy, the piranha things, the big Kaiju withworms coming out of it, and the thing that the ship’s captain turns into (That whole fight is probably one of my favorite moments in the series). The story is fine if incredibly convoluted. The new characters are a mixed bag. Parker and Raymond are characters I wouldn’t mind seeing again. Jessica annoyed me at first though the twist with her helped salvage the characters. Keith and Quint on the other hand are probably my least favorite characters in the entire series.

Nicholai canonically survived right? Most gameplays that i have seen he always gets killed by Nemesis so it's a bit weird. Maybe a remake will kill him off and pretend he never survived in the first place.

And the reason he dies is because you pushed Nemesis off a bridge. That's pretty funny.

I keep hearing its a mistranslation that Nicholai survived but...I don't want that to be the case.

You know the Carlos petrol station scene? There's an alternate version of the scene with Nicholai and he gets caught in ground zero of the station's big ass explosion. Yet he survives. I love my slightly mad, very greedy indestructible Russkie. So yes, he survived and fuck anybody who says otherwise.

Also I refuse to push Nemesis off the bridge for a second reason: It means no Barry Burton rescue ending.

Man, the RE 2 remake is just amazing. You can really tell the devs gave their heart and souls in making the game.

They should’ve made him the villain for the Desperate Measure DLC for 5 or Revelations given how both are Jill centric stories

So how much training has been passed out to deal with Zombies?

I know that the events of Racoon City more or less sunk Umbrella, with all those different people gathering evidence, but it's not clear how much people have actually learned about Zombies.

Was watching Degeneration clips, and it's clear that recognizing the signs is not something people have learned...though I suppose the Terra Save protesters dressed as Zombies didn't help.

And it's clear the special forces sent in with Leon were not properly brief on combatting them...or Angela and that other dude were just idiots...which isn't out of the question I admit.

So I'm wondering what people actually know about Zombies as a whole...then again, there are so many different types of viruses that it might be impossible to spread accurate info, since you never know what kind of outbreak you'll be dealing with.

You'd think every single military on the planet would have a Zombie Management 101 class. The entire class consisting of "Remove the head or destroy the brain." Boom. How is that hard to teach any sort of military?

That is why nuclear missiles and self destruct sequences have been activated.This sequence may not be aborted.

That's why the triggering system has now been activated. All researchers and guards should take cover immediately. Unlock all roomed for evacuation.

At least the self destruct in the RE 2 remake makes more sense

Still, the time limit it gives is pretty generous, all things considered.

Yeah, though from a gameplay perspective, you're traveling a much longer distance compared to the original game plus you're dealing with tougher boss fights after.

And it depends on if Umbrella's nutty enough to let the beasts out mid-self destruct to stop any intruders from escaping. they've gotta have some in reserve, right? The Rebels had a room full of wampas on their Hoth base after all.

As dumb as Umbrella is, I don't think they'd let out aggressive uncontrollable beasts just to deal with intruders. More cost effective to have a security team take care of that.

They don't.

They do that for "test subjects."

Hence soldiers like Hunk.

HUNK is so OP that is the only character that gets to keep his previous VA.

Well Birkin got to keep his too.

Funny to hear that since Hunk and William probably got the least amount of dialogue in both the original and remake.

I don't know but it's scary to be stalked by a crazy infected Frank West (TJ Rotolo does Birkin in this game)

I'm now playing the RE 2 Remake. It's good stuff so far, even if the zombies are so tough they feel like this batch of T-Virus was laced with super soldier serum.

Tip: Aim for their kneecaps. They can still bite you, but with their legs severed they aren't really much of a threat.

It's much more efficient than going for the head and hoping you get a random head explosion (as impressive as the gore effects are).

And knife them when you knock them over. Saves on ammo and knives are pretty durable when used as an actual weapon instead of a defense item.

So is it true that maybe, just maybe, Wesker is not dead? I know people have been beating over the bush with it but apparently there are hints in Umbrella Corps of all places that maybe he is not dead. Somehow.

Would you want Wesker to return?

...No? I don't want him to be another Sigma. Sometimes people need to STAY dead, otherwise it's cheap fan service.
