I think they do explain through some of the logs that it was a hallucination, but given this series it could go either way.

This talk about the blurring line between BOW and Human makes me wonder about where the games are going.

Like, an island or some other sort of reclusive small nation trying to cultivate Bioweapons, and enough of them retain awareness to maintain small civilized outposts and resist the tinpot leader.

Could see the tinpot leader then calling in the BSAA / Blue Umbrella to try and deal with the "BOW Infestation", only for them to discover what the People's Republic of Tyranny tried to pull there.

Isn't that the plot of the second CGI movie?

The concept I came up with was of the wealthy and powerful in this setting forming an "upper class" that uses the largely BOW-infected "lower class" to fight their battles for them via control collars.

All the way up until some of the collars stop working and a rebellion begins.

Ok, didnt know but that BOW soldier discussed in the ending is supposed to be a TYRANT. What? Where the hell did BSSA get one?

Knowing this game...

They probably found a factory of them during one of their operations and decided to use it for themselves. It says a lot of how much manpower has been lost in the ranks of the BSAA when they need tyrants to fill out the foot soldier-ranks...

Also another juicy stuff regarding the ending

some have pointed out how you can faintly see how the car in the ending briefly stops before the game fades to black and using photo mode you can maybe see the person. Someone found this◊

Chris just dislikes Bob the Tyrant in particular, not because he's a BOW, he's just real annoying.

Maybe it’s just a sort of specter of Ethan that only Rose can see, kinda like Evelyn in this game.

Also, is Zoe mentioned at all in this game? Considering she got saved in End of Zoe.

She gets a mention in like a special edition bonus I think... working as a reporter in New orleans under a new name... Mia contacts her about the baby even asks her to come see them.

then again Zoe was kinda one of the more superfluous characters in 7 when its all said and done

As a father being in a Hive Mind with his daughter, Ethan must have had it a lot easier to handle Rose than most starter-fathers would have with their kids. After all, Ethan would subconsciously know what Rose wanted when she needed it, reducing the fumbling, and she would not be screaming as much either since, from her perspective, she is with her parents all the time regardless of how far the distance between her and them actually was.

I don't see how Ethan can be considered to be dead as presumably he's still part of Rose's hive mind if Eveline is still alive.

x3: Pretty much, but the lower class rebellion were relying on ways to sorta retain free will while infected. While the ruling class had all the BOW tech proper

I think Ethan actually is dead, though his memories still linger in the Mold.

It does open up the possiblity of Rose trying to revive him — assuming she learned nothing from Miranda's own mistakes.

Hell, maybe the real reason the main characters survive so much crazy shit isn't that they're so badass they never get bitten, but that years of fighting and being exposed to different viruses have made them superhuman as well. Like, we have a precedent with Sherry and Jill (the latter of whom is a virus cocktail). There's also whatever's going on with Natalia, and that girl from the Darkside Chronicles (or was it the Umbrella Chronicles) with the flaming blood.

In terms of being born that way, we also have Jake.

Makes more sense considering the original reason for all of this bioweapon crap was an attempt to create a new Master Race. Creating superhumans was the original goal.

That might actually be where Chris's boulder-punching strength came from.
