Yeah it's really awkward to see Ezra Miller after all those scandals.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.I have heard people say it will Cosmic Retcon Keaton into DCEU's main Batman, and honestly that is a smart move? He is the most like Affleck's Batman, having been a killer at one point, being more seasoned or old then usual, ETC.
The First manChanged the title from Flashpoint to The Flash (2023) as requested.
Macron's notesI'm still excited for the movie, even if it's just to see the new Supergirl.
I think this movie kinda has to be amazing if it wants to even try getting good word of mouth.
The First manIt might pick up a bit of money through Bile Fascination or people morbidly curious about just what kind of train wreck it turns into.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."From what I understand, the movie is fine itself based on reports... it's just that Ezra's post film-production antics have made it impossible to advertise the movie since he's the big star of the film.
Ironically since a lot of people assumed this would mostly be a Batman and maybe Supergirl movie with Flash happening to show up.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."The one time they decide to let the Flash take center stage is when the actor is going on a rampage.
I heard a theory from reddit though more of a morbid joke is that if Ezra ends up in jail or dead, Warner bros will just rename the movie and in the latter case, just market the movie as the last one starring the late Ezra Miller.
The latter is pretty scummy but it worked for a certain other movie.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Tbf Heath Ledger didn't have nearly this much controversy before his death like cults or grooming allegations?
Not sure how that would work without backlash.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Yeah I said to that guy that Heath Ledger was a beloved actor even if he was seen as miscast for the role initially.
Still very curious to see how they handle this movie. I say they do the smart thing and just put the other stars in the marketing, as well as rename the movie.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Or they could, you know, just pixel-censor Miller’s face or something.
"he's so fast he's too blurry because he's The Flash, dur!"
New theme music also a boxDC already threw $90m down the drain by cancelling Batgirl, I assume they could also waste a bit more money to reshoot or digitally cover Miller's face.
The only reason they're not doing I assume is that it is an ongoing investigation and whatever the contract is does not allow them to do so yet. Or they're completely delusional. Because even if Batgirl was on a quality level on par with Batman and Robin, the memes only would get more positive attention than this movie is going to get.
Edit: and I'm no MCU fan but whoever is in charge of the casting is doing an infinitely better job of screeing the candidates. The worst the MCU has had to deal with so far, despite featuring way more prominent recurring actors, is (AFAIK) one obnoxious antivax in a relatively secondary role. The tinier DCCU already starred two actors that are or were under criminal investigations, and that's without even looking at Affleck's #metoo issues.

Per info, a reshoot would boil down "Redo the ENTIRE Film" Miller is almost every scene and playing different versions of the Flash. The Kevin Spacey Reshoots cost MILLIONS and he was in the film for what 15 minutes? It would be cheaper (and faster) to just can the whole thing and start from scratch with a new actor for a 2.5 hour film
Or just can it outright. I just read the hypothesis that Batgirl's cancellation served both fiscal reasons and was used to see how people would react to a major movie being canned.
But hey, I think there are way too many superhero movies at the moment, and that it's been a while now since there's been one that was anything beyond mildly entertaining. So if this one signs the DCCU's death warrant and it helps going back to the pace we saw in the early 2000s, then I'm all for it.
Granted, DC is not the main culprit in that but it would still unclog the schedule a little to allow for other types of blockbusters.
If its a flashpoint-type reboot then they could just write it so he gets a new appearance after the big change, so at the very least they have an easy way to recast the role for the future and it would somewhat alleviate the damage of Ezra being the lead here
It may be a bit of an Ass Pull but its one most would understand

The First manI think that is already a given. This will be Miller's last appearance in the DCEU if there is a Flash sequel or another film with the Flash it will be a new actor
IK it will be recast, just saying a way they could do it early and give an explanation for it.
The First manMany fans have assumed Flashpoint would be used to reboot the entire clunky mess that is the DCEU, so they might as well.
Dunno if they would recast Momoa and Gadot though.
People like Momoa well enough, but pretty much everyone is calling for a new Mera, really (or maybe a different love interest? Not sure). Dunno where Gadot falls after WW 84, though.

Wake me up at your own risk.I'd recast Mera, she's too major a character to lose just because of her actress
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I’d recast Gadot too but that’s more a matter of taste. >.> I can see Momoa as an evil Aquaman, but Gal seems a bit too squeaky clean to play an evil Diana (if I get the gist of the comics).
Man, a scene like that would get a very different response nowadays.
