Signups ~ Discussion

The first thing anyone stepping into the Traveler's Hub would likely notice was how different it was from the world they just left. The place appeared to be the interior of some kind of temple, complete with a light brown chapel floor and massive pillars holding up the ceiling.

As they progressed down the hallway, they would find themselves in a large central chamber with a domed ceiling. At first the ceiling appeared to be painted with the scene of a sunny day, but anyone who looked closer would find that the scene was actually moving. Even closer inspection would reveal that it was some kind of screen.

In the center of the chamber was another pillar-like structure, ringed with desks staffed with attendants. Judging by the people in lines walking up to and talking to the attendants, it could be assumed that this was much like some kind of inter-world train station. Around the edges were more hallways, leading to more gateways to other worlds. Each gateway looked very much like a grand arch, through which one could see the world they would reach by passing through it.

Even before all of this, the traveler would likely notice the presence of many others in the hub. Some would be familiar, but others would be strange, and still others would be unlike anything they had ever known. Some of these beings were just passing through between one world and the next; others had set up shops and the like around the edges, choosing to eke out an existence here.

They stood at the center of an inter-dimensional hub. It was up to them to make something of this situation.

New Rome - Central Station

New Rome was one of the most bustling cities in the multiverse, thanks in part to its connection to the Traveler's Hub. The outskirts weren't anything to speak of, and indeed most of the inhabitants chose not to speak of them unless they had to. For the most part, however, the place was a shining beacon of progress, complete with clean streets and almost futuristic buildings.

The Traveler's Gate here opened up into what seemed to be a subway station. The gate itself took up most of the back wall, but before them were numerous entrances to the city's extensive subway system. Each entrance had a map stationed right next to it, and just to make sure everyone knew where they were going there were numerous staffed desks available to ask questions.

For those who ignored the subways and made their way out any of the glass door exits, they would find a bright and clean area of the city, where many inns, restaurants, and the like could be found. If they just looked around, they'd likely find something that met their fancy.

Sylvania - Traveler's Outpost

In stark contrast, any who went through the gate to Sylvania would find themselves surrounded by a wall of green. Here there were trees that looked like they touched the sky, on top of whatever plants could grow in between them. All around was the calls of various wildlife, be it bird, insect, or something else entirely.

Fortunately, the archway didn't just drop them right into the wilderness. In the small clearing surrounding the Traveler's Gate was a small outpost, full of tents and buildings that could be best described as log cabins. The inhabitants of this outpost were dressed for the occasion, with appropriate clothing and sometimes enormous backpacks. If one looked around, they might find a vendor or two that would be willing to sell them supplies for the road ahead.

Titans' Rest - Traveler's Outpost

If the Sylvania gate was wild, the gate to the land of fallen giants was even more so. This world was just white all around as every available surface seemed to be covered in snow. In the distance the sharp, jagged peaks of mountains could be seen.

Fortunately, here too was a Traveler's Outpost. This time most of the inhabitants were dressed in layers; fluffy parkas and thick coats seemed to be the predominating fashion. Each building was insulated to the point it was surprisingly warm inside each one. The vendors here also sold supplies, but a fair few also sold a surprising variety of weapons. Strange, for outside the outpost there didn't seem to be anything but frozen wasteland....

Forever Islands - Ahoy City Traveler's Gate

In stark contrast to Sylvania and Titan's Rest, the gateway in the Forever Islands lead to somewhere inhabited. The structure this gate was sat in at first resembled the New Rome's Central Station, but there didn't seem to be any other transports here. If anything, this appeared to be some kind of visitor's center, full of pamphlets and helpful staff.

Anyone who looked around would find that Ahoy City sat on one of the largest of the Forever Islands, an archipelago that sat in a seemingly endless sea, but this fact would be hard to believe to anyone who stepped out of the Visitor's Center and into the bustling coastal city. It wasn't anywhere near as large as New Rome, but still active enough to be considered a city, full of mostly white structures.

If one kept walking out to the coast, they would find Ahoy City's natural harbor, in which numerous docks offering seaworthy vessels could be found. The variety stretched from simple sailboats to exotic submarines, to everything in between.

The skyline behind the city was dominated by a single large mountain, and going too far away would find a jungle that could give Sylvania a run for its money. Anyone who had enough time on their hands to completely walk around the island would find that it was indeed an island. If they looked hard enough, they might had been able to see other islands through the sea haze.

Traveler's Hub - Gate to Nowhere

There was one particular gateway in the Traveler's Hub that seemed to be receiving less traffic than the others. In fact this gateway was barely receiving any traffic at all; not even the hallway leading up to it had many people who had chosen to set up shop along the way.

The reason could possibly be the world on the other side of this arch. Anyone who looked through it would see, instead of any coherent world, what could best be described as a slowly moving fog of dark blue, dark red, black, and gray. It wasn't clear what the world on the other side of the gate would be like, if indeed there was a world at all.

Traveller's Hub — Sweet Mask

It took some time for Kamen to notice where he was, mainly due to the fact that his face was severely caved in.

After about 2 and a half minutes of regenerating, his face had healed enough to see. He opened his eyes.

And suffice to say, he was impressed.

The large building was like a palace or cathedral in design, with a beautiful skylight set into the roof.

At least, it seemed like it was a skylight. There was something off in its appearance.

Whatever the case, this was a place fit for a hero like him.

The people here were... mixed, to say the least. Some were human (or at least humanoid) while some of them...

Some of them were so... ugly, it took all his effort not to freeze in the spot.

Calm. Focus. You've got a reputation at stake. Just... deal with it , and find out where you are.

He had to be patient to get answers.

He had to put on his "Sweet Mask."

Cooper’s Mill. 2017 AD.

Begone, foul Wraiths!” A blast of red light threw the cavern into stark blood-tinted relief as Rom calmly disintegrated yet another Wraith into a pile of smoldering ash. Silver armor glinted in the faint light of the cave as a silver-suited figure strode towards the faint light at the very end of the winding tunnel. This was not a natural tunnel, to be certain –the twisted magicks meant that the cavern faintly pulsated, rocks twisting and dilating.

Rom advanced again, firing another bolt of red light that crumbled another Dire Wraith. Screams rent the air as mutated, twisted bodies dissolved.

SO, SPACEKNIGHT. DO YOU EVER TIRE OF YOUR ENDLESS WAR? WE ARE MUTABILITY INCARNATE, AND YOU ARE-

“-your ‘’’doom!’’’” Rom’s Neutralizer warmed and fired again, tearing a rapidly spreading gash into the creature’s fleshy bod. He was nearing the end of the tunnel now, the source of the strange glow becoming clearer. It was an energized gateway of some kind, lashed together with a mixture of Wraith magic and human machinery , but the underlying source was undeniably…

Cybertronian?" Rom asked, incredulous. His own adventure with the Cybertronians had taught him much about their ways, and this “space bridge” the Wraiths had either built or stolen was just one of the many dangerous devices the Cybertronians and their (formerly) endless war had brought to this backwater world. “You are tampering with forces you cannot even imagine!”

I IMAGINE THEM QUITE WELL,” came a voice at the back of the chamber – the looming, four-armed shape of a Wraith Sorcerer. “ I IMAGINE THE WRAITHS STRETCHING ACROSS THE COSMOS AND BEYOND –TO BREAK THE CONFINES OF THIS UNIVERSE AND INTO THE REACHES OF INFINITY ITSELF!

“Never!” Rom raised his Neutralizer once more, warming it up… when a twitch and a silhouette behind him caused him to realize that the Wraith he had blasted before was still alive. A massive tentacle fist slammed down on him and –

Rom came to and immediately regretted it. His head was still pounding from the impact. How long had he been out for? Hours? Days? Weeks? Either way, he was alone. The Wraiths had gone, leaving their space bridge behind . The space bridge… Rom remembered the last time he had encountered such a device. That time, his armor had somehow resonated with the contraption, granting it control over the device. If he concentrated, focused, just right….

Ahoy City

A silver streak blew through the portal, arcing into the sky beyond. There were Wraiths here now – Rom was well attuned to their methods, and even now he was sure they were out there, consolidating their numbers, planning something…. The shadow of war hung over this tropical vista.

Sylvania

He actually liked it here, out in the woods. Alone, away from the crowds of people, away from that urge to consume. Well, the urge to consume humans, at least. He still needed to eat, virus or no virus, though his culinary etiquette was... lacking.

Alex could not believe that he'd stumbled upon such a place. A world with no Blackwatch. A world with no infected. A world where Dana doesn't have to fear a monster like me.

He pushed that thought aside and kept walking. He strode confidently through the woods, though 'stalked' might have been more appropriate, given his quiet movements and grim expression. As though flicking his eyes he turned on his thermal vision, picking up on a rather large buck strolling around the trees. He took a few more steps towards it, his leg muscles tensing.

He leapt.

The deer had scant seconds to process what was going on, sprinting away in terror only to have Alex's elbow strike it in the back. Bones snapped audibly, and the buck practically exploded. Black tendrils captured the splatter before it struck the ground, piercing the animal's body and absorbing it.

An entire deer was gone in the span of three seconds, leaving only a man with vague memories of prancing through the woods.

Alex allowed himself a small smile and turned off his thermal vision, before walking further into the trees.

What is so amusing about this? Why do you take lives? How can you forget?

The Sequin Land Sea

On the rough, stormy seas south of Scuttle Town, a purple-skinned pirate queen in skimpy skull-themed attire stood on the deck of her ship. Her dark, skeletal minions in pirate regalia, the Tinkerbats, were piloting their mechanical pirate ship off to escape. Risky grinned and held the artifact, a strange object that looked like a metal urn, aloft, then handed off to a Tinkerbat.

"Put it in the hold, lovelies! I don't want our little prize to get any water damage in this storm!" Risky shouted over the howl of the winds and the crashing waves. Obediently but silently, the Tinkerbats grabbed the artifact and went below deck with it. Risky then looked towards the others, who were steering the ship, as a lurch shook the entire ship. "Watch where you're driving, you dingbats!" Risky exclaimed angrily. "You're going to damage my beautiful ship!"

The Tinkerbats held their course as much as they could, but the wild storm was battering around the ship. High above, and far behind, a large purple bird was flying in the same direction of the ship. On the back of the bird were two young women— one, a young blonde woman with a tube top and white pants, controlling the bird, while a tanned young lady with purple hair tied up in a ponytail and in a red and gold dancer outfit clung for dear life.

"Shantae, there she is!" the woman guiding the bird exclaimed, pointing at the Tinkerbats' pirateship. Shantae grinned.

"You're the best, Sky!" Shantae cheered. "Take us in close! I need to get that artifact back from Risky! It belongs to Uncle Mimic!" Sky looked worried.

"Those winds look intense though... I don't know if Wrench is going to be able to take it!" Sky replied, looking down at her bird.

"Wrench will be fine! He's your most prized war bird!" Shantae insisted. Sky looked unsure, but nodded, and with a whistle, Sky gestured and Wrench turned and dived towards the gale-force winds below.

Below, a sudden shake of the ship nearly made Risky lose her balance again.

"I told you to be careful!" Risky snapped. She then looked up and her eyes widened. There was a giant whirlpool in the center of the typhoon, swirling and sucking water into it. "Hard starboard! Twister off the port bow!!" Risky ordered, but a lurch brought the ship towards the swirling maelstrom. Sky and Shantae dove towards the pirate ship. Shantae let go of Sky and prepared to make a jump towards the ship, but a sudden gust of wind caught her before she could jump.

"Whoaa—AAA!" Shantae screamed, and Sky quickly reached for her, to no avail. Shantae plummeted down towards the water. At the same time, Risky shoved a Tinkerbat aside and reached for the helm, trying to correct the course, also to no avail.

"Man the escape pods, boys! Looks like the ship is taking on water!" Risky ordered, before another sudden lurch brought the ship right into the maelstrom. Risky screamed herself, clinging to the deck. A loud splash erupted as Shantae fell into the cold, dark sea.

"SHANTAAAAEEEE!" Sky shouted, reaching for her, but she was gone. Sky looked worried and sad, then whistled and pulled up, flying back in the direction of Scuttle Town.

The Forever Islands, beach nearby Ahoy City

It was so cold, and so dark. But wait... what was this feeling? She felt a lurch, and she tumbled onto the sand of a nearby beach. Laying on the sand, completely in disarray, Shantae coughed, spitting out seawater and making deep breaths of fresh air. Shantae weakly looked around, not recognizing any of the beach that she lay on. How long was she out? Was Sky okay? Risky? She had to find out where she was, first and foremost.

She stood weakly, dusting the sand off of her body as best she could. There seemed to be a city in the distance— perhaps if she went towards that, she could find out where she was, and possibly where Risky was. Shantae stretched, then began to walk towards the city.

Abel had heard rumors that, somewhere in this world, there was a portal to this place called the Traveler's Hub where people from different universes came and went. While most people would hardly believe such a thing, and even if they did they wouldn't want to take the time and effort just to see it, Abel saw this as an opportunity to escape. To finally rid himself of the ever-growing threat breathing down his back that is SHELL. Living—well, “living” wouldn't be the right word for it; more like “surviving”—in town was too dangerous for him and Rixis. If this Traveler's Hub did actually exist, he would finally be able to live, and actually ‘'live'', worry-free.

As Abel walked deeper into the forest, though, his faith in this place slowly ebbed away, until he started cursing himself for even thinking a such a thing could even exist. He looked at the trees around him and realized he was lost. Great, now he couldn't even make it back if he tried. Unless…

He opened his jacket, and his monster’s green, snake-like head poked out. “Rixis,” Abel started, “go up and see if you can find some...arch...thing. I think that's what it's called...anyway, just look for a few minutes and come back when I blow my whistle, alright?” Rixis nodded, and his thin, serpentine body erupted from Abel’s jacket before he opened his wings and took flight.

Now all he had to do was wait.

Abel sat against the base of a tree and closed his eyes. He held up a finger to his eyepatch, and suddenly he was in the air looking down at the wide expanse of trees below him. It was always disorienting to change to Rixis’s vision, but he’d done this millions of times, and he got used to it almost instantly. So far, there was nothing particularly interesting; just trees. Lots and lots of trees. Hopefully, if this portal really did exist, it would be really obvious; otherwise, Abel would be wasting his time with all of this. As time passed, though, nothing happened, and Abel started to get drowsy. Without even realizing it, he fell asleep.

Sylvania

When he woke up, Rixis was hovering over him, purring loudly. He rubbed his eye, yawned, and stood up. “Did you find anything?” he asked. The eye monster shook his head, and Abel sighed, severely disappointed. “Well, that was a waste of time. C’mon, let's go back to town.” He opened his jacket for Rixis, and the duo continued their trek through the forest. But unbeknownst to them, the trees looked pretty different...

A Brief Wars in the Stars

Meetra could sense his pain. When she had died, she had not become one with the Force, her spirit loyally staying behind to guard Revan. As the Emperor fed off him, she gave him her own power. As the years continued on, her sustenance strengthened his resolve whenever he grew weak, allowing him to continually fight this never-ending battle of souls with the Sith Lord.

Despite this, she could never communicate with him due to the Sith sorcery, her soul adrift in the dark ocean of their imprisonment....

Meetra Surik - Beaches Near Ahoy City

One ocean replaced another, Meetra's lungs breathing in automatically. How long had it been since they had tasted the air? How long had it been since she felt the sun on her skin? Most importantly, how in the hell had she somehow escaped? Had she finally expired? Had she failed Revan, finding herself in the paradise of an afterlife beyond the Galaxy? Her white hair flowing gently in the seabreeze, the sand shifting under her feet, the scent of ocean salt being carried to her nose, it certainly seemed like how many of the Galaxy's religions claimed it should be.

Though if one could call this an afterlife, she still felt much as she had in life. Even her attire was as it once was, down to the lightsaber on her left belt clip, its crystal calling to her very soul. Around her, the Force and its wounds felt much as they always did. To tell the truth, if you told her she had dreamt of that other life while sleeping here on these sands, it would be hard to disprove.

Which left the matter of where here was.

As far as she could tell, across the infinite horizon there were only two things to note. A city, and a girl. The city seemed old, and the girl seemed young. Younger than even Mira had been in their travels, but she was also the first person she had seen in countless years. Even if she proved to be both young and foolish, it would be better than trying to hold a conversation with the void.

Walking briskly ahead to catch up with her, she called out when she approached. "It appears as though we find ourselves walking the same path."

The beach

Shantae blinked and turned in the direction of the voice that rang out behind her. Shantae examined the woman curiously, seeing she was dripping wet with seawater much like Shantae was.

"Uh, hello!" Shantae greeted, a sweet smile on her face. "Where are we?" she asked. "Would you happen to have seen a steam-powered pirate ship captained by a purple pirate queen and a bunch of dark skeleton things? And if not, do you happen to know where Scuttle Town is? I fell into the sea and I think I'm lost now..." Shantae admitted, sounding a bit sheepish. Somehow, though, she had a feeling this woman would have no idea what she was talking about, which made her feel rather uneasy.

Meetra paused for a moment, considering the girl's words.

Then she did something she hadn't done in quite some time.

She laughed.

"I have been to the edges of the Galaxy and back, but of all the wonders I have seen I cannot say I have seen your friends amongst them," she replied with a smile. "You can take solace that you are not the only one who is lost, as I seem to have lost my way as well. Though... I would prefer to say that I am simply exploring, it makes it seem as though I understand the situation."

Shantae initially looked a little hurt that Meetra started to laugh, but it didn't seem like a malicious laugh so she calmed down slightly. When Meetra indeed said she did not recognize them, Shantae sighed.

"Well... all right. Thank you," Shantae replied. "Uh, my name's Shantae. I'm the guardian genie of Scuttle Town!" she introduced. "I'm trying to catch the pirate queen Risky Boots. If you see her, please let me know! I'm gonna see if anyone in this town knows where we are," Shantae told her, and continued to move towards the town.

Second attempt to write this, one on a phone — never a good idea.

Traveller's Hub - Sweet Mask

After a particularly tense talk with a particularly ugly member of staff, Sweet Mask now had an idea of what this place was.

The "Traveller's Hub".

A place where people either voluntarily or involuntarily appear. A connection to several places in the Multiverse.

And he was sent here by a punch.

Try explaining that to the media.

He sighed, before walking towards one of the gates. The staff member had quite politely described each gate and its usage, explaining the different locations, and that "Ahoy City" was particularly nice at the moment.

To be honest, he wasn't paying much attention due to trying not to pass out with horror at the staff member's appearance.

Whatever. Ahoy City it was then.

Ahoy City Beaches - Sweet Mask

The first thing he noticed when arriving on the beach was the beautiful city on the skyline, sunlight reflecting and scattering, giving it an almost incandescent appearance.

The second thing he noticed were two young women, one in exotic clothing, the other in simple robes.

Both were sopping wet.

The fact that they looked so different yet both had this connection immediately told him they had undergone a similar situation to him.

He hoped neither of them would recognize him. He loved his fans, but it would be an awkward reunion.

Forcing on a charming grin, he raised his voice.

"Excuse me, ladies. Your clothing seems strange in comparison to the others here. Are you a "traveller", like me?"

His tone was perhaps a little too sweet, perhaps. No matter. His motivations were genuine, so maybe that would be enough to gain their trust.

Ker, Ceres.

The Harrow Warframe gracefully tumbled through Ceres' polluted air, vaulting over rails and bullet jumping across gaps in its hurry, while the Lotus Operative it rescued did her level best to keep up. Of course, she wasn't as acrobatic, so while the Harrow bypassed gaping pits by jumping over them, she was limited to going around on the rickety plating the Grineer used for flooring.
The Tenno controlling the Warframe, meanwhile, was doing the Tenno equivalent of daydreaming while mowing the lawn. After all, she was safe in her Orbiter, and she'd rescued countless Operatives before; what was another one? She wondered if Ordis would agree to put some music on —
Then she felt her Transference surge and everything went dark.
Ahoy City beach

The Tenno woke up and found herself face-first in… was that sand? She sat up and looked around. Well, that certainly wasn't the Orbiter. While the sand felt real enough, and the vista she was seeing seemed real, so did the mountain pass the Queens' interference with her Transference, and that was in her head.
Still, there were no Queens this time to use the Kuva Sceptre to cause any sort of mental hijinks, so this place was probably real.

Orbiter

Standing up, she willed herself back to the Orbiter and found it to be dead in the water (or space, as it may); a short inspection revealed that nothing except for the Transference equipment and the Arsenal module was working. Even the radio scanner was stuck on "offline". Ordis wasn't anywhere to be found, and try as she might the Tenno could not establish a connection to the Lotus.
After thinking for a while, she figured that exploring might be the best idea, so she went back to her glorified chair and activated the Arsenal remotely. When she found that most of her Warframes and weapons were unavailable, her face fell, but she resolved to make do. Equipping her Banshee Prime with the Tigris Prime, AkStilleto Prime and Jat Kittag, she sent the Warframe back to the beach she found herself in.

Ahoy City beach

The Banshee landed gracefully on the sand. With a spread of its hands, it activated its Sonar, and discovered three body-shaped disturbances not too far away. Launching itself into the air, it made its way toward Meetra, Shantae and Sweet Mask with a series of flips and jumps, landing before them in short order.

An ordinary train station in Japan

As it had been instructed by the school, Tokoyami was about to leave to begin his internship with one of the pro heroes in the country. Everything had been going as you would normally expect to, with nothing out of the ordinary happening.

Even once he had gotten in the train there wasn't anything unusual happening. It was full of people so there were any seats for him and there wasn't anyone in there that he recognized, at least not when he took a quick glance at his surroundings.

It was once the train got moving that things began taking a turn for the unexpected. Only a few minutes after the train left the station everything got really dark for a few seconds but before anyone could even react to it the lights came back on and suddenly the train stopped.

New Rome - Central Station

Taking a look outside Tokoyami saw that this place he was in was unlike any other he had seen so far and was far from being his destination. He head the mumblings of the other passengers around him, all trying to figure out just what the hell happened in such a short span of time. Soon, however, the passengers began leaving the train and so did Tokoyami himself.

"Where... Where am I...?" He wondered outloud.

It looked like an extensive subway station that was connected to many different areas. It was honestly a little overwhelming to suddenly be thrown in a place like that and he could already hear some of the civilians beginning to panic a little. Out of curiosity he decided to check the map on his phone to see if it could provide any insight on where he was, but, perhaps unsurprisingly, it wasn't working.

New Hope, Central Station - The Maid Is Lost

"Ah, excuse me, Mr... Birdman?" The voice that spoke to Tokoyami belonged to a peculiar young woman, likely about his age. The clothing rather obviously suggested her to be a maid and, apart from slight fluster, a picture of professionalism for the profession at hand.

"You wouldn't happen to know where we are now? I asked a couple of people on my way here and nobody seemed to have any answer to that." Really, the selection of "people" was already unnerving to Fabiola. Just where did she end up that people had pointed ears and animal tails, among some less disturbing body parts?

Meetra - Ahoy Beach

"Meetra," Meetra finally said, following along after Shantae silently.

Eventually they were approached by an overly-friendly man with an exaggerated smile inquiring if they were travelers like him. "I am a traveler, of that I have no doubt, but whether we are like you, I do not know enough about you to say if I am. I do not know where I am traveling to, only where I have come from. Can you say any different?"

An armored person seemed to have noticed them, making her way towards them but without attacking. In any case, it wasn't making any move to attack at the moment, hopefully being someone just as lost as they were. Still, she was glad that however she had gotten here, her lightsaber was still just a quick pull away.

"I'm not quite sure if we are on the way to a circus, for that matter," she added.

Ahoy Beach - Sweet Mask

Kamen frowned, pretending not to notice the armoured being. His eyes briefly flashed red with murderous intent, but he forced that feeling down.

Only kill it if it attacks he reminded himself. Then you may have no mercy.

"I see." he said in reply to Meetra. "In which case, maybe it is best if we stick together. It would be quite idiotic to explore a new world on your own. No offence."

His "mask" had nearly slipped then. That was close. He was already missing the stage, the fans...

But he would deal with it. He was A-Class. A hero. He could not show weakness.

While he enjoyed exerting his superhuman abilities on unsuspecting prey, there was something to be said for simply walking through the woods. Alone. Dana had always thought he was too antisocial - or well, that the real Alex was - but he liked being alone. He guessed having the combined memories of several hundred sociopath scientists didn't help with that.

But maybe she'd had a point. Alex didn't know how long he'd been out hunting, but he'd grown... bored. It was a new sensation for him. Since he woke up on the dissection table his life had been one life-or-death situation after the next. The free time was certainly relaxing, and yet he felt he was missing something.

Only then did he notice a human walking through the trees. A man with an eyepatch and overcoat. Alex's eyes narrowed with suspicion as he lowered himself behind the trees and shrubbery. Who would be this far out in the woods? Someone out to spy on him? A Blackwatch agent?

He forced himself to relax.

Considering where exactly they were, the simple, obvious conclusion was that the man had gotten lost. Alex certainly remembered being confused when he first arrived in this 'multiverse hub' place. So he steeled himself, forced what could generously be called a smile onto his face and stepped around the trees.

"Hey," He called, uncertain. "You, uh, lost? I can show you the way to the gate, if you'd like."

New Rome - Central Station

"Woow. I've never seen this station on the schedule before."

Among the people getting off the train in confusion after it's arrival at their unexpected destination was a girl in her school uniform who, after a brief look around what was clearly not the city they'd started the trip at, grabbed the bag containing her hero costume made her way towards the bird headed hero.

"Hey did you see... um" At least before she noticed the maid trying to talk to him already. "I didn't know you had a maid, Tokoyami"

New Rome

Flashing blue light appeared in the sky above New Rome. The sky cracked and shattered as an unnatural transdimensional event occurred above it. For a brief moment a hellish portal formed and spewed out a single green figure, before everything went back to normal. The citizens briefly panicked, before going back about their lives. Strange odd occurrences like that were entirely too common.

The green figure plummeted from the sky before slamming into the street feet first, cracking asphalt but not leaving much in the way of a crater. The Doomslayer returned to his feet, shotgun in hand, tilting his head curiously at both the sudden depletion of his arsenal and the new strange, entirely too peaceful surroundings. His head turned briefly towards the sky and unseen eyes narrowed in annoyance at the man responsible to sending him away.

A sudden blaring horn jolted the Doomslayer back to his current situation, and he almost spun around and pumped several shells of buckshot into the impatient commuter in the car behind him. The gun vanished and the Doomslayer stepped onto the sidewalk waving apologetically at the traffic he had been blocking.

No longer blocking automotive traffic the Doomslayer moved through the masses of pedestrians aimlessly. It had been so long since he had last been in such a mundane situation, that he genuinely did not know what to do right now, so he simply walked. Maybe eventually something horrible would happen that would need his attention, or maybe Hayden would have to pull him back when he inevitably started another Hell incursion.

Abel - Sylvania

Abel didn't expect anybody else to be in the forest, so when he heard a voice, he automatically tensed up. He turned to see the source—a guy with some weird fashion sense—and instinctively pulled his coat closer. His thoughts immediately went to SHELL. What would someone be doing this deep into the woods? Maybe he was followed. He found Alex's friendliness suspicious, and he considered making a run for it.

Calm down, Abel.

"The...gate?" He asked. "Like, for the Traveler's Hub?"

Sylvania

"Yeah. I figured you must be new to the place. You don't look like a hunter." Alex said, calmly. A brief analysis showed no weapons, and the man wasn't big enough to be a super soldier. Appearances could deceive, but Alex decided to trust the stranger, for now.

"I was just about to head back myself, anyway. I can show you around a bit if you'd like." He hadn't actually planned to go back, but he was getting bored of the forest, and the rooftops of New Rome had looked a bit inviting. "Name's Alex, by the way. Come on, it's this way."

He began walking back towards the gate, gesturing for Abel to follow him.

Abel - Sylvania

Against his better judgement, Abel decided to follow the stranger. As he walked, though, his excitement got the better of him, and he started blabbering. "So, the Traveler's Hub really does exist? You've been there before? What's it like? And what do you mean by 'hunters'? Like, deer hunters, or...something else?"

The beach

Shantae looked a little confused at the young man who showed up and asked if they were travelers like him. Shantae thought for a moment, then shrugged.

"Well, I wouldn't call myself a traveler, but I'm definitely traveling. My name is Shantae, and I'm looking for the pirate queen Risky Boots! If you've seen her, please let me know!" Shantae introduced. As soon as Banshee landed in front of them, however, Shantae gasped and assumed a defensive position, with her legs splayed slightly and her arms up.

"Um, do either of you know what that is?" Shantae asked worriedly.

Sylvania

"It's... basically like a train station for different realities, basically." Alex considered how best to describe it. "There's five main areas it lets out to. A city, a tropical island, a tundra, this forested area, and some odd place that constantly changes. No one goes there much, from what I gather."

He put his hands in the pockets of his jacket. A tic he'd picked up from someone he'd eaten, probably. "I've only been here about a day, myself." He paused, considering how much to tell this man. He considered that the stranger hadn't given his name, but that seemed to just be because of his excitement. "As for hunters, this place has a lot of wild game. I've been scouting out the woods myself, thinking about going on a hunting trip at some point."

In retrospect he probably should have brought a gun. Most people didn't hunt with their bare hands.

New Rome - Central Station

While he was trying to find where they were using his cellphone, Tokoyami was suddenly approached by a maid who was just as lost as he was. It didn't look like she arrived in the same train as he did so she must have arrived either on a different train or some other means.

"I'm afraid I'm just as clueless about our current location as you are, miss," he answered, putting his cellphone back in his pocket, "also my name is-"

He then heard a familiar voice coming from behind him, making him turn around to confirm who it was. It was indeed Uraraka. While it was good to have one of his classmates around to help him with this strange occurence, she also ended up misunderstanding the current situation entirely.

"She's not my maid, she was merely asking me for information." he responded to her comment, folding his arms, "I assume you also have no familiarity with this place, Uraraka?"
