In Separation Anxiety or related stories, the yellow host was an undiagnosed schizophrenic and went a little murdery, killing the other hosts.
She also got to be in the Universal Spider-Man ride
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI think that was Scream.
Ok, who let Light Yagami in here?God, all symbiotes have such shit names
Forever liveblogging the AvengersThey all have have cool-sounding straight to the point names.
Just look at Venom’s grandson Toxin.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I like how this film dealt with their names, which is, they just all have edgelord given names from their home world that can be easily translated to English.
In their defense, a lot of superheroes/villains have really cheesy and ridiculous-sounding names. It's why Comic-Book Movies Don't Use Codenames is a thing. It's hard to take a dude seriously when he introduces himself as, "Hello, my name is Mr. Sinister. These are my associates: The Wizard, Mr. Fear, and the High Evolutionary. We would like to discuss how to destroy our mutual enemy, Power Man."

My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.At least some of those names sound like names! The sybmiotes just opened up the Cool Words dictionary and picked names at random.
After the half-assed attempt to justify it with Venom and Carnage they just stopped trying and just throw it at you daring you to question it but they know you won't because its the 90s and nobody is reading comics to read them anymore
Forever liveblogging the AvengersI mean. It was the 90's. Pointless edginess for the sake of edgy was the thing.
Still waiting for that film adaptation for Adam X the X-Treme.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.The symbiote's weird names one day spun into a Hurricane of Puns as I was talking about this movie's reception with a friend. We went on a back and forth of:
I regret nothing.

"All you Fascists bound to lose."I wonder if there's a cultural reason, in universe, why symbiotes take names that have association with pain or destruction.
To be fair, the names of the Life Foundation symbiotes were never actually used in the comics themselves until a few years ago, they came from things like action figures and trading cards or were fanon that ascended.
They were reduced to special forces weapons in Carnage U.S.A. and I guess the military thought that Agony, Riot, Lasher and Phage sounded intimidating and badass.

Eh. Most military weapons are either named after their project codenames (which are generally innocuous) or a pronunciation of the project acronym. Or just named after whoever invented them. The military doesn't really give things edgy names like that.
The greatest criminal ever known to symbiote-kind was named Kindness, whose moniker rather belied the reality of his horrific and unforgettable actions (those cakes he stole, oh the kyndarity!). As a result, all symbiote throughout history have since then taken on names that suggest death and destruction to distance themselves from their most vicious of kindly named ancestors.
Except Carnage, who just really likes eviscerating people.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Devastate: We all remember the horrific dictatorial reigns of Lovey Dovey and Premier Kindness. Hence, we as a species use gritty, dark names to indicate we are far from the monsters they were.
Sign on for this After The End Fantasy RP.Pretty much all the symbiotes on earth are descended from Venom to begin with. The edgy names are a family thing.
Seems like the movie held up good for the second week. Inb 4 RIP MCU Tom Holland. :u
Mileena MadnessI mean, there's no reason why Tom can't be in both universes. It sounds like there's not been many issues with Spider-man appearing in the Kraven the Hunter film.
How can you put him there if it isn't related to the MCU? They could wing Venom in the MCU, but knowing Sony they will keep the universes separate.
Mileena MadnessThere's no reason why you can't have Tom Holland's Spider-man in both universes. It's not a rights issue as Sony have the rights but have a contractual agreement with Marvel that they can use Spidey in joint productions.
It's either Scream - who's colored yellow and red or Phage - colored (most of the time) a solid yellow. Both were Riot's siblings in the comics so it can go either way.
#IceBearForPresidentFinally, someone on my level
Forever liveblogging the AvengersSo I saw Venom yesterday with a couple of my friends. I liked it. It's not a great movie its a very stupid movie but it was enjoyably stupid.
You're going to pay a price for every bloody thing you do and everything you don't do. You don't get to choose to not pay a price.I honestly feel that not having Spider-Man in the movie was to the movie's benefit. Venom is a complicated character with a lot of moving parts in his origin. Trying to cover everything from "Spider-Man obtains an alien goo" to "Eddie Brock and his symbiote become the Liquid Punisher" while doing justice to every single step along the way in a two-hour film was never going to happen.
Especially if you also need to spend half of the movie exploring whatever's going on in Peter Parker's life and emphasizing his role as protagonist or Deuteragonist. You're going to wind up with a sloppy, rushed project that races through plot points like bullets on a checklist for the sake of just getting them all done under the time window.
By telling Spider-Man to get f*cked, Venom is able to spend time that would otherwise be dedicated to "Peter Parker wants to win a science contest, but Flash was mean to him today and that makes him sad," to instead explore Eddie Brock as a character and emphasize the development between him and his symbiote. It has room to breathe and just adapt this part of the story.
This is a movie about Lethal Protector Venom, not Supervillain Venom. Spider-Man would only have bogged it down with unnecessary details and too many plot threads.

One of the symbiotes is yellow, does that one have any significance in the comics?
If a chicken crosses the road and nobody else is around to see it, does the road move beneath the chicken instead?
