We've had several Musical Splainin' episodes that no one apparently wants to talk about.
Optimism is a duty.Podcasts don't always the attract the same audience that her videos essays do
New theme music also a boxWorse, a pedo.
My posts make considerably more sense read in the voice of John Ratzenberger.I really didn’t like the Singin’ in the Rain episode. I get that taste is subjective, but they barely discussed the plot, completely ignored Donald O’Connor’s fantastic performance, and didn’t even talk about any behind the scenes stuff despite decades of fascinating interviews and documentaries.

I must admit I was quite disappointed about that one as well. I get that the movie can be a bit underwhelming if you go at it with the expectation of "I'm going to watch one of the greatest movie musicals ever made", but I wish they would've discussed it a bit further than "it is a movie that exists".
For the record, the whole "grillpill" stuff is in reference to that internet meme "I just wanna grill for god's sake".
Rather pointless to bring it up here, though.
I honestly think her Cats, the Phantom of the Opera, and musicals in general vids are on the better side with regards to musicals than Singing in the Rain.

Especially when it sounds like a massive assumption on their part. “Lindsay gave up on humanity”, how bloody melodramatic.

Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position.(5x) Sucks because he directed the best X-Men movies (OK, Apocalypse didn't need to exist).
Seriously. She had a bad time but that's a completely absurd way to frame things.
"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnI agree the Singin' in the Rain review was disappointing, I feel they get sidetracked by irrelevant conversations a bit too much at times.
Optimism is a duty.Did they bring up A clockwork orange?Everybody who talks about Singin in the rain eventually has to bring it up
New theme music also a boxMusical Splaining does The Greatest Showman.
Optimism is a duty. After doing a Shrek "marathon" I definitely disagree on her views on Shrek 1 being "hateful" project of Katzenberg. But that's maybe her Disney bias showing.
Hateful is a bit too strong, but Shrek certainly doesn't pull any punches on the traditional Disney tropes.
Optimism is a duty.It definitely doesn't, but at the same time the result is still a heartfelt movie.
Wasn't Farquad literally just a parody of Michael Eisner?
Heartfelt and hateful aren't mutually exclusive.

New theme music also a boxYeah he wasn't as subtle as the later villains. Still entertaining to watch though.
It's mostly on the "Shrek has no substance beyond a petty Take That! to Disney".

To be fair, Disney dipped their pool when they made Hades into a Katzenberg caricature.
…Man, the behind-the-scene stories for the late-90s/early-oughts Disney-Dreamworks rivalry could be a movie of its own I bet.

Bryan Singer?
...Oh god, he's a shithead too, isn't he? Could you refresh my memory on that?
