Does there need to be something official on it? The low sales themselves and Capcom just shutting the game down without any fanfare should clue people in. Hell, I do remember a Maximillian video where he said the same thing as me: Infinite pretty much burned the bridge between Marvel and Capcom.
If my words aren't worth shit, then let Max's words do the job.

Growing up, it's like a civil war, don't turn away, it's something you can't ignore...Games flop all the time. I don't think it's enough to sour relations between the two companies.
Street Fighter x Tekken was a competitive failure and a commercial shrug at best, but Akuma's still in Tekken and allegedly the Tekken version of the crossover is being plugged away at slowly.
Capcom is also heavily focused on the competitive market, something they reaffirmed just recently. Given the history the brand has in the community and the fact that (as was already mentioned) they almost certainly took notice of how successful FighterZ has been, it's entirely within the realm of possibility they would at least consider making another Marvel vs. Capcom.
Let me repeat this again: Capcom's side is not the problem. Marvel's side is.
I am sure Capcom will have that good will to make a new MvC game, but Marvel is not a gaming company. There's a stark difference between them and Bandai Namco, in that Namco is a fellow gaming company known for being Capcom's current rival on the Fighting Game genre.
Also, before anyone mentions Peter Rosas: I could care less about Combofiend going to Marvel, because he got fired from Capcom following the "FUNCTIONS" schadenfreude.
If the Marvel execs say it's not gonna happen (and the possibility is real), it's not gonna happen. Remember that a crossover demands collaboration from both sides, and Marvel was forcing its hand hard on Infinite to be the dominant one.

Growing up, it's like a civil war, don't turn away, it's something you can't ignore...We don’t have any indication that Marvel or Disney is disinterested, beyond the previous game failing. Any actual insight into what Marvel’s actual perception on the issue is is entirely speculation, even where Max is concerned.
Max isn’t a Marvel rep. He rubs elbows with some high ranking people, but he doesn’t have the actual insight or authority to state what Marvel or Disney’s stance is in the same way he does for the FGC or the game devs, which is why he always makes sure to make it clear when making those videos that he’s speculating and open to being incorrect if things don’t go the way he predicts.
Compare the EA situation, where we know for a fact that that Disney stepped in and proverbially yelled at them - we know that soured things, at least for a while. Marvel has been almost entirely quiet about this.
Note, also, that this year features the return of another gaming series that Marvel washed their hands of for a variety of sour business reasons.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. And thus far there's been nothing to indicate they've said it's not gonna happen, lol. I don't mean this to be mean, but you seem to speak very authoritatively on these matters when for the most part you have no more info than the rest of us here.
I don't have any authority indeed, just opinions. Which happen to be very blunt most of the time.

Who's Mad?
That's makes a lot more sense.
I doubt they ever had to jump hurdles to get Fox's permission to use the X-Men but if by some miracle they did have to (& they shouldn't have to from what I can understand Fox doesn't even have any rights to publish X-Men games) I would really love to see Linn Kurowasa again.
I don't think the roster is going anywhere. Or at least most of it. They're not dumping Black Panther after he had one of the highest grossing movies of all time, and while Captain Marvel isn't out yet, it's also tracking for a huge opening weekend. They're pretty much a lock, and I'd say the same of Venom given how he also had a massive hit movie. On the Capcom side, Jedah has proven really popular in competitive play, and I doubt Monster Hunter is going anywhere since that's still one of Capcom's golden goose franchises right now.
The only actual toss-ups I can see about who is coming back from the new characters are Ultron and Sigma. If the choice came down to Magneto and Ultron, especially after the infamous "Well if you like Magneto, just play Ultron!" comments, Magneto is getting in easy.
This is probably a topic that’s been discussed before here but in a hypothetical MVC 4, what newcomers do you think would/should be added? The newcomers were honestly one of my favorite parts of Infinite, despite the Capcom side only having 4 I ended up loving each one of them. And some of the Marvel ones were decent additions too.
Kamala, Spider-Gwen if they can come up with a moveset for her, Loki...
Wake me up at your own risk.Nero or V would be cool too.
Gene, Nero/Lady, and Vile would be cool.
Miles, Spider-Gwen, Peni...
Screw it, put in the whole Spider-Verse team.
Also bring Tron and Ammy back.

This song needs more love.Nero, Kamala, Loki, and Leon Kennedy.
Man I gotta play more Capcom games.
Yeah Kamala, some Spider-Homies, Ant-Man & the Wasp, & the Fant4stic.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I could just list out all the Mega Man characters and Gene. Though, if I had to narrow it down, Omega (Mega Man Zero) and Gene on the Capcom side. Squirrel Girl and Howard the Duck on the Marvel side.
Nero has to be in any potential new MVC. Has to. Recycling DMC3 Dante like that was just shameful and lazy, and he was reportedly on the shortlist way back when Tatsunoko vs. Capcom was in the works.

But making new assets is hard work. :/
Mileena MadnessWell it helps that DMC 3 Dante also happens to be one of his most popular depiction & there really wasn't any real reason why they shouldn't recycle an already difficult but more simplify moveset. On top of already great moveset, I didn't see any real reason why they need re invent Dante again.
Why do you think I mentioned DOA 6?
Until told otherwise from an official source, I have no reason to believe Marvel Vs Capcom has a future.
