Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Strangers in a Familiar Land

Welcome to the world of Pokémon.

Wait; which one?!

You know the one!

Okay; alright; fine.

Welcome to the Kalos Region.

As everyone knows, this world is inhabited by creatures called Pokémon. They and humans often live together and get along. Trainers, Rangers, and Coordinators are all but a few examples of how humans coexist with Pokémon for the benefit of all.

But some cases are stranger...

There have been tales recordeed across the land—and in other realms—of humans being transformed into Pokémon for no explicable reason. These incidents often end with the former humans being swept away, into a parallel world.

But not this one.

In this story, the inhabitants of the Pokémon world get whisked away, only to find their way to their homes... their hopes and dreams... or their demise.

And the cause stares them in the face, dripping with heartless condescension.

• Name: Anything, as long as it isn't demeaning or unpronounceable; ideally, it'd be a real name that's significant to you.
• Species: Legendary and Mythical Pokémon are prohibited. Ultra Beasts are prohibited. Pokémon that learn Teleport by level-up and Ghost-types are prohibited. Pokémon more than 2 meters (6'07") tall or long are prohibited. Evolved forms are also prohibited (unless they're evolved from "baby" Pokémon). Any other species of Pokémon is permitted.
• Age: Anywhere from 10-30.
• Gender: Female, male, and—if you want—transgender to or from either (be sure to use neuter for genderless species and specify what their original gender was if it changed).
• Appearance: At least 2 sentences that describe their current appearance. You are describing their original appearance, but it's all up to you. You may only have 1 shiny character, so think before you make it.
• Personality: At least 3 sentences.
• History (Optional): It's only necessary if you don't want your char to be an amnesiac (which they aren't allowed to be yet—nor will they until we get "natural" human-Pokémon converts). At least 2 sentences. They must have lived in Kalos before becoming a Pokémon. What did they do with their lives before?
• Moves: Thus far, only moves learned by level-up are allowed.

• Team: Unavailable; you'll get the option to create naturally-born Pokémon and start a team with them (and each other) after the prison-break.

The first few player characters'll start out waking up in a research facility in Lumiose.

Glad to hear it. I'm just enthused that anyone actually cares to sign up for it.

By the way: don't worry about whether or not you'll have it ready in time. The RP's still going to take a few days.

• Name: James Sidney
• Species: Cubone
• Age: 14.
• Gender: Male.
• Appearance: A simple Cubone. Only difference between him and other Cubones is his slightly lighter skin tone.
• Personality: Shy and quiet. It's a safe assumption that he was like this as a human too, just not as exaggerated. Even he doesn't know what his face looks like, as his skull helmet is extremely tight on his head.
• History (Optional):
• Move 1: Bone Club.
• Move 2: Tail Whip.
• Move 3: Headbutt.
• Move 4: Leer.

• Name: Sergey
• Species: Anorith
• Age: 20
• Gender: Male
• Appearance: A small Pokémon colored mostly black and teal, Anorith has big claws which it can use to grab prey or attack. Its eyes are sticking out from the sides of its head on small stilts.
• Personality: Sergey's a friendly soul, hard to really upset. He always tries to be polite, sometimes to a fault. He very much likes sweet berries yet often enough confuses something with a Touga berry.
• History: Sergey lived in Ambrette Town, having a more or less peaceful life there. He recently got out of school and for now started work as a mailman.
• Moves:
  • Move 1: Harden
  • Move 2: Scratch
• Team: None

Gender: Female

Appearance:

Buneary is a small, bipedal, rabbit-like Pokémon with brown ears that can curl up. It has two types of fur covering its body: a light tan fleece that covers much of its lower body, feet, and the tips of its ears, and a smooth chocolate colored pelt on the upper half of its body. It has a small, triangular pink nose, pink paw pads on the undersides of its feet, and small tan spots above its eyes. It has a small brown puff of a tail.

Alex is slightly smaller than most Bunearys, just as she was rather short as a human. Her fur usually has a few sticks and leaves tangled in it due to some 'adventure' (usually just running around in the woods).

Personality: Alex is very energetic and has a rather short attention span. She hates to sit still and always seems to be doing something with her hands.

Alex is always eager to make a new friend and will chat up a storm.

She loves the wilderness, and spends most of her spare time there, exploring or daydreaming.

History: Alex grew up in Dendemille town. She spent most of her free time running on the plains and dreaming of adventure. Her short attention span hindered her in school, but she had a passion for dance that more than once saved her grades.

By the way: should I let people RP as villains?

Villains have a tendency to disrupt the story (especially those that are evuuuuuul), but if you think you can keep people in line, go for it.

• Name: Giono
• Species: Elgyem
• Age: 16
• Gender: male
• Appearance: An Elgyem, slightly taller than most, and with a slight scar present on the left side of the head.
• Personality: Giono or just Gio was a slightly troubled trainer who, even as a human, had psychic powers and was regarded as an outcast for them due to having utterly poor control of them. However he adored his team of pokemon, and even though he carries some resentment for people treating him like an outcast for something he couldn't help having, he tries to be an optimist, though his innate cynic sometimes shows through. He is patient, but can be very stubborn.
• History: He used to be a Kalosian pokemon trainer who had been regarded as odd and dangerous by those in his small town, and he moved out to do his pokemon journey as a necessity, though he genuinely enjoyed it as he went. His strange psychic powers were bottled up, poorly controlled, and could hardly be focused. One day something happened to him, and he ended up a Pokemon for it - all he remembers is seeing the one person who'd been willing to befriend him, Sweine...

By the way: TM moves are prohibited. If you'd just replace Hidden Power with something else, I'll accept it.

And you're really going to want to give your character the strongest level-up moves with the greatest amount of coverage you can find.
