I don't think so. He wakes up tied to the chair. The "cotton balls" are whatever the chair is stuffed with. Isn't he tied to the chair the whole time until the creepy brother comes to get him?

Looking over the work page. Not sure Cut Lex Luthor a Check is a legit example. Seems like Bradley Whitford and company had a clear goal that could not be achieved by honest work.
There's an earlier scene where he tries biting at the restraints. He could lean down to put the cotton in his ears one at a time.
Ah, that works. Whew!
Get Out is coming back for free President's Day screenings at AMC Theaters. One year anniversary.

Best Screenplay get! Even if it gets nothing else I think that was the one it deserved most. Those twists, man...
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."And that seems to be all it got, which is fair. At least it got something good here.
It's been 3000 years…Shape of Water deserved the win. Get Out did too, and Lady Bird. I'd have been satisfied with any of them.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."There's a pretty strong tradition of "the real best movie wins one of the screenplay awards" and that might have happened here.
There were so many good movies this year. It's purely a matter of opinion which is best, I think. That it managed a major win like Screenplay even with a significant bloc of the voters biased against it is impressive in and of itself IMO.

This movie can really inspire more black led movies to be nominated.

It definitely deserves wins for costuming and production design.
It won’t win, but I wonder if it can get a Best Picture nomination.
Peace is the only battle worth waging. So anyone wonder where the Hell Missy came from? She's pretty integral to the Evil Plan so I wonder how Roman recruited her. How does one stumble upon a sociopathic hypnotist who's okay with Grand Theft Me procedures. Perhaps she was the daughter of another family in the cult who Roman gave to Dean in an Arranged Marriage?

Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."I dunno, when you have a cult which can guarantee immortality, you can get a lot of people to turn on their principles. Mind you, let's also be honest, that recruiting rich white people to do horrible things to black people wouldn't be difficult today let alone a generation or two ago.

Author of The Rules of Supervillainy, Cthulhu Armageddon, and United States of Monsters.Uh, it’s not difficult now, unfortunately. There’s plenty of young white supremacists. See Charlottesville.
I just assumed that Missy was part of the cult, which obviously is not confined to a single family, as there was a whole crowd of people there for the auction.
Including an Asian guy, if I recall right.
It's been 3000 years…Peele stated on the DVD commentary that the Armitages' cult is actually an offshoot of a larger immortality-seeking organization going as far back as the Crusades. Its original aim was to find the Holy Grail and use it to become immortal, and over the centuries has split into many different factions, including Roman Armitage's, each pursuing immortality in their own ways. I wonder if any other branches are still active in the present? Peele would certainly have a healthy supply of villains for future movies set in the 'verse if so.

That's scary crap to think about. As you said, this could be more plot potential for future movies. Get Out really should be the start of a Peel horror verse.
He has said he wants to do more horror-social satires, spotlighting different social issues each time.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."Oh good Lord please not a "universe". Just let a great movie be a great movie, please.
Peele could be the Alfred Hitchcock of satire horror movies if he plays his cards right.

Shut up and take my money! .gif
Didn't he put the cotton in his ears before he was tied down?
I liked it better when Questionable Casting was called WTH Casting Agency
