Yeah, I feel like Kaguya taking first place academically would send Miyuki into another spiral. As far as he's concerned, that's everything because he thinks it's the only reason Kaguya gives him the time of day. And if these latest chapters are anything to go by, it's that something as conclusive as a dramatic, passionate kiss isn't enough to resolve things for these stupid teenagers. It would wreck him.

It's been fun. While their romantic arc had completed, their character arc isn't yet. So there still a lot of work for them to overcome their own personal demon. Still waiting for Ishigami part though.
E.T technically is a Isekai movieHand cuffs? Seriously?
Ah man, "I'm saying that it's fine not to be perfect"
Unexpected feels.
"...in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach."Well, we're going straight into it.
Moeha is going straight into it as well, but that's a different issue.
Kaguya being proactive about the No! Knock it off! is nice. I was thinking Shirogane would throw a huge amount of effort into something grand only to really upset her.
Why would it upset her?
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Because she'd be worried since in that situation he'd probably be very obviously exhausted. He already only sleeps three hours a day and has no free time but wants to work even harder? Nope, that is not good for his health.
Edit: Upset, not angry. Worried, off balance etc.

Plus she's decided she's fed up with all the mind games and just wants mutual honestly. I can see why she would be frustrated by him trying to keep putting on airs.
While admittedly I don't blame her it, given her circumstances, Kaguya is in no position to be exasperated with mind games.
It's been fun.I don't think anyone has ever accused Kaguya of being fair and reasonable.
Because of that, I feel like Shirogane might lash out at her a bit for that. Their entire relationship is kind of built on mind games and deception, so just being honest and upfront is probably the hardest thing for them.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Shirogane has already been putting the mind games behind him. He's always been more honest with himself than Kaguya. Like admitting he was too nervous to compliment her nails and so on. This is less dropping the mind games and more stopping trying to impress her because she's already impressed enough and started to get worried instead.
Well, not starting. She's done stuff like switch out his coffee before because of his deteriorating health.
I gotta say, major props to Aka for actually writing a romantic comedy in which the Grand Romantic Gesture doesn't automatically fix every personal issue (it rather exposed them) and gave them a happily ever after. Kaguya: come for the comedy and fluff, stay for the well-written characters.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Oh...I think I'm dying from diabetes. I like how this kiss is low key compared to the first one,
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Aww.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Aw, these two dorks. These two problematic, over-the-top dorks.
Y'know what, that works for me. I like that in the end they didn't really solve anything, but instead just acknowledged what each other's problem was and accepted they're gonna have to work through and with those things. Man, this writer is a good one.
I hope we can have them as a proper couple now.

That moon looks full to me.
Creed of the Happy Pessimist:Always expect the worst. Then, when it happens, it was only what you expected. All else is a happy surprise. The moon sure is beautiful.
Check out my fanfiction!Spoilers: Seems to just be the denouement of this arc. Kaguya even returns to her former look.
well Kaguya asked out Shirogane, so yea I'd say they're officially dating now.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. This arc started out choppy, but I'm glad the conclusion was so satisfying.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Not fair! My completely legal manga reading service doesn't usually release for two days after you post about the latest chapter... I'm going to have to wait to respond to that spoiler.
New chapter's out.
Aaaaa it's so cute. Nothing but heartwarming the entire time.
There we go. That's just lovely.
"...in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach."
She does everything normally at 60% effort. That was the first test results. The fourth and fifth had her distracted by helping Ishigami, which may have affected her scores, which she mentions herself. We don't know about tests two and three, but given the overall pattern I think maybe she hasn't gone all out on tests before. I don't doubt it would depress Shirogane at first, so I think it would need a good follow up.
I'm not convinced it's really the best angle to take either but something about the test results never being 100% conclusive sticks out to me.
As for being less attracted to him, yeah. I'm assuming she's attracted to his glaring, tired eyes because they're the physical representation of him working hard, but now that she understands how hard he's pushing himself and admits she loves him for his kind nature it may not be necessary?
