Aquaman only has that ability if he has the Trident of Poseidon; Mera can do that naturally.

In Batman v Superman and Justice League it looks like he just has the normal Trident of Neptune which doesn't have any divine powers.

Wait, he has electrokinesis? You sure? Sounds kinda fishy to me.

With the Trident of Poseidon he has all the powers of Poseidon so he can control storms which includes creating Lightning.

It was in the New 52/Rebirth.

Everything listed before Divine Empowerment is Aquaman's default powers.

Yes I think he was able to use Electrokinesis. But different types of Atlanteans have different powers.

Couldn't Garth use electricity in the Young Justice cartoon?

The thing about his BVS appearance was that it was supposed to be a candid underwater probe video, which by its nature tends to not be briskly edited. The video is about the surprise of finding him there, with the underwater sonic boom capping it off. I imagine Justice League will define a lot of the visual vocabulary of Aquaman, making his solo film able to jump right in.

Patrick Wilson has been cast as Orm aka Ocean Master!

This is Patrick Wilson's second DCEU role he was the voice of the President of the United States in BvS.

Odd choice. He's a wonderful actor but can't really pass for Jason Momoa's brother at all. Interested to see how they go about it.

We only heard him, Swanwick had to get permission from the President over the phone to launch the nuke at Doomsday and Superman.

I only know of Wilson from Watchmen, but it is always fun to see repeat actors with directors. Wilson has worked with both Snyder and Wan.

Remember Orm is only Arthur Curry's half-brother they have the same mother different fathers.

Though there should be some resemblance. But probably when they were younger. Now that they're older they take after their respective fathers.

Although Arthur Curry is supposed to be half human, half Atlantean, Jason Momoa was chosen in part because of his ambiguous background. If "white" is the general Atlantean population, given by Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson and Willem Dafoe as other Atlanteans, that would make Momoa stand out physically and facilitate Half-Breed Discrimination, especially with the royal bloodline.

I hope they bring in the whole Aquafamily. There's a lot of room to introduce people to a whole other facet of DC and really reclaim the character.

Aquaman will start filming in May!

It will shoot in Queensland, Australia and Sicily, Italy.
