I posted my first bit with Tethystra, let's just hope I didn't screw up too badly with the casino bit.

I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.

[up][up][up]Ohhh yeah, I somehow forgot about her. That's a good idea. Backstories are kinda similar, too, though Hazel's career in villainy ended because she turned good, while Carol turned good (briefly) because her career in villainy had ended. :V

[up][up]Thanks! tongue

Hazel was a superhero, though she'd emphasize that she was a piss poor one, so it's not like their backstories are identical or anything.

So, finally I did it. Everything that was asked of me and a thing that I wanted to do for years (not really. It's Joseph and Elizabeth meeting, if anyone wanted to know). I guess the climax is over. Now for the falling action.

And... even after this crisis ends, Joseph and Elizabeth won't have peace. I want to, but... a George R.R. Martin-esque side of me doesn't want to.

And, after this arc is over, I will write a sign-up board (sort of) for the future Sin Princes arc. Like Echoing Silence did for the heist. The reason why I'm planning to do that is so that no one would be lost.

Okay, I hope this is coherent, but I think I've finally got this written up. Tell me if there's anything that looks wrong or if you guys have any questions.

Concept: The Mermaid Civilization
  • Mermaids have existed in the depths for thousands of years. The Ancient Greeks had records of them, calling them the nereides or oceanides, the people of the Fertile Crescent claimed they were born of the sea goddess Atargatis, and the Arabs referred to them as the Sea People in the Thousand And One Nights. During the medieval period, mermaids were said to lure sailors to their doom, possibly spurred on by myths about the sirens from Greek lore, and they were hunted, both for revenge and for the belief that they had magical properties, which was true in a sense.
  • The mermaids of the Atlantic seas all have the ability to transform their fishy tails into legs, and they all have beautiful voices that can hypnotize people, control water, and wreak havoc with sound waves if they are threatened. They are also a youthful-looking, beautiful race, with both genders having longer hair: mermen are more chiseled in their beauty with striking features while mermaids are curvaceous and lithe. Because of this, human-mermaid relations were not uncommon in ancient times, with the descendants either being full humans or full mermaids. Despite their youthful looks, mermaids and mermen are long-lived, most living for several hundred years, during which time they become incredibly skilled at weaving magics. Mermaid society is mostly matriarchal, though mermen can and do often take positions of power.
  • The Atlantic mermaid civilizations retreated to the depths and cut off all contact with humanity after the Renaissance, and they hid their civilization from prying eyes with powerful magics. During this time, the mermaid kingdom was divided into feudal states, with the various noble houses separating into powerful city-states. The most powerful of these was Atlantis, which encompassed areas known by the surface world as the Mediterranean and Aegean, as well as the eastern Atlantic off the coast of the Iberian Peninsula.
  • Life in Atlantis was cushy for the average citizen; the mermaid kingdoms had a high standard of living with much of their needs provided for with magic. The city-state soon became a magocracy, with powerful sorcerers and sorceresses becoming the deciding force in politics. One such sorceress was Amphytra, a wise and kind sorceress of goodness and light, who ruled Atlantis for over 100 years until the kingdom was taken over by Tethystra the dark sorceress.
  • After Tethystra's rise to power, Amphytra was not heard from again. It is believed she died, though rumors still pass about Amphytra surviving, being sealed inside a pearl, which now lays in the possession of a surface dweller. Tethystra now searches for the pearl as she plans to use it to conquer the other kingdoms of the Atlantic, and eventually the surface world as well. Atlantis is currently in a "dark age" of sorts, where Tethystra has transformed the once-proud nation into a state designed only for her pleasure, dedicated to serving her. Talks of rebellion are quickly snuffed out, though it is believed some are trying to dethrone the mad sorceress.

How come we didn't have Mermaids already? [lol] Approved!

Btw, it would be interesting to investigate the connections (if any) between this undersea civilization and the one in the Pacific (but that one is up to GOA to develop.)

[up][up]I wouldn't give them all the same abilities.

If... dangit, after telling you I had nothing planned. If there was one thing I imagined is something like-

I remember the episode of Young Justice when they actually go to visit Atlantic. There were a few of seemingly different species all under the umbrella of "Atlanteans".

Edit: Ah, unless this is just one of several groups. That's totes cool.

After you voiced your concerns, I tend to agree with you. I edited it slightly so instead of the second paragraph referring to all mermaids, I had it specifically refer to the mermaids of the Atlantic seas (like Siren and Tethystra). If that's okay, Sijo.

I had imagined the mermaids of other seas are similar, though they can be different depending on what other authors want to do with them. One example could be mermaids of the Arctic sea having close resemblances to seals to survive the cold (and possibly inspiring selkie myths and the Inuit tale of Sedna as well).

It's entirely possible the Pacific mermaids are more fishlike, to be more in line with Japanese myths of ningyo, which are very fishlike.

I just know that the Violet Heroine was and always was a kinda scaly fish woman with a long sinewy fish tail instead of legs, making her look kind of like a naga. She could breathe above water but her primary means of locomotion up there was flying with her crystals.

That works. I was about to suggest that mermaids of the Indian ocean resembled snakes/nagas from Indian/Southeast Asian lore (and coincidentally, the Naga from the Warcraft series).

So, here we go...

Sin Princes Arc Interest Check:

So, basically, this is to check who would be interested in this long-spanning arc.

To give the further explanation about the whole situation:

Azur of Supremacy is currently the leader of Foundation for the Future. And he has made his first move to conquer the world for his 'supreme race'. Also, Azur was there in the formation of Not!Hydra, seemingly killed off when he vowed for control. At his disposal he has mummies, animal-super slaves, corrupter psychologist, magic warriors and sword summoning super. Probably planning to bring in mermaids. Might come into conflict with... anyone, actually.

Michael the Homicidal and Lerange the Thirsty are currently residing inside Chris and Claire respectively. They are planning to destroy the rest of Sin Princes. Currently, they are communicating with Chickening and Siren.

Ni of Deviance doesn't really have a grand-spanning plan, but will commit heinous crimes for her own pleasure. Might be planning to destroy human's civilization just for her own pleasure and steal some pictures.

Leera the Angel is currently building a cult of despair-spreading meme machines (not an Internet meme, mind you). This cult will be introduced as Concept soon enough. Plans to spread despair across all the universe.

Kosh the Hateful currently took form of Rine Copy 2, who was missing for quite a long time. Will come into conflict with Shield of Humanity, Dimensional Guard. His plan is to make everything in reality suffer, then kill everything.

The order of arc progression will be like this (if everything goes according to plan):

Kosh vs Shield and Dimensional Guard (as well as others who are interested) - Ni and her shananigans - Azur vs Leera (and those who stuck in between).

In case you are wondering who the hell are these characters and what can they do, check Azur, Terror Duo and Ni, Leera and Kosh. For just the concept of Sin Princes, check here.

I can answer any question you might have about this. And please express your interest in this... if you are interested.

Also, a question from myself: am I allowed to make this a bit Darker and Edgier? To be more precise, can I include some horror themes? I am not saying to turn this game into grimdark setting (or turning everything into 90s, for that matter). Just a bit more spice of darkness than usual.

And... For the Lich King!

I know... Our King... (goes crazy and decides to trash nearby inn)

Ignore that poor death knight. In truth... For Azeroth!

To answer the question, Sin Princes fight each other because the one who stands above all others can become a Sin Lord, basically a demon-god of sin. Besides, a family made out of sin personified entities can't be a functional family.

I'm awake. I missed a few things [lol]

So, yes. Kyxe was intended to be a love interest for Rine, which is kinda awkward for me, since I have no idea how to write it. Ah well. I'll figure something out.

That was... actually an epic fight. I got invested in that. Well done! That's very hard to do!

EDIT: Also, I like the idea for the Sin Prince arc. It looks very interesting.

Yes, it turned out quite great, actually!grin

To speak about cooperator thing, at first I thought abut Shield giving them the hideout. But, after thinking, I realized that Joseph could have some underground connections. Somehwat like Coop system in Persona 5.

So, anyone have more questions about my arc?

So, since Val'ark's arc is done, I'm going to bring back Warlock! And hopefully join the SP arc.

My main idea/plot/reasoning thing is that the Conqueror- a Narrative Mythos entity introduced WAY back- is like, "Hey, whoa, who do these guys think they are? I was here first, bitch" and revives Seb to do his business for him once more. If Go W is fine with that, of course.

It would be pretty natural for things to go that way.

And, I'm not sure, but I am thinking about killing off one of my characters, as well as Shield of Humanity. It's only a possibility, nothing concrete. I mean, I have to introduce the Sin Princes as major threats, and the best way to do that is for them to inflict physical and psychological damage to heroes. And, oh boy, I have tons of psychological damage planned...

Mmm. Love me some psychological damage.

Anyway, I'm not sure if I should include Silz in this RP. Controlling 5 characters at once and having to keep track of them is enough for me.

I may even have Copy 3 and/or 4 killed off to make my life easier. tongue I probably won't though, at least not right now.
