EDIT: Right, so Roken's perception filter has been upgraded. I hope it didn't seem like an Ass Pull, I tried my best to do it in a way that was decently explained. Plus the fact that it isn't that much of an upgrade. If it is, I'll change it.

The reason I did it was also in preparation of when Rine's consciousness takes over. I wanted him to be a more stealth-oriented character, so it would make sense for him to have a slightly better filter.

So yes, Rine is slowly transforming Roken into a Copy, without Roken even knowing. Sneaky.

EDIT: Done. Lot more ambiguous about what he did. He's still changing Roken, but in a more mental sense.

Joseph is actually aware that he failed his mission (stopping the heist). It's just that he has a NEW mission now (kill the Parasite and his Emperor). To be fair, he is better at killing and is hellbent on killing 'villains'. Which is also why he doesn't mind his 'failure' at all.

Rine seems a bit unstable himself. Losing 99.9% of your body does that to you. That and Roken's head is a bit of an influential place.

So, yeah, that bazooka... Joseph would be inactive for quite along time... or would he?

So, the grand finale of Conqueror's Last Stand begins (well, Parasites arc).

EDIT: Oh... I think I messed up. I skipped the whole fight with Val'arak. Well, I said that Joseph ran away. I hope that Val is following Joseph. I think they'll have to play cat and mouse game for quite along time. Nvm. Somehow fixed it. Also, I have a question. What will happen to Val?

Ooh yes it does. Rine is now in control, and has opened the Rift. Now he just needs someone to make a big boom. He's aware of the superheroes and organizations in the city, so he's confident that they'll do something.

It would be hilarious if nothing happened.

The new Rine will most likely salvage the matter stabilizer left by Roken, so it'll keep him in a humanoid shape, but he'll also keep Roken's abilities.

Good grief my head.

Finally, some good news: my new glasses are ready. I'll go pick them up this afternoon, so I'll hopefully be back to full strength by tonight. I'll have a lot of catching up to do.

On other matters. I'm seriously considering revising the "one character at a time" rule, both because some players want to write their own events and because it makes it easier for me as GM. This would require a new rule, like this:

Character Control: You may control any characters (of your own creation) and have them interact. However you cannot prevent other players' characters from intervening (for example, if your characters are fighting in the open, any player with a character in the area may reasonably intervene.) In case of disagreement, either discuss the event in the Discussion Thread, or contact each other via PM. In all cases the GM has the final word.

This rule is not official yet. It is here for consideration. Anyone is welcome to give their opinion.

Concept Building: Someone recently asked how this works, so I decided to clarify it a bit. A Concept can be anything - from the Mundane to the Cosmic- as long as it fits the following criteria:

-It has to be something that has story potential.

-It must be something not already covered by another Concept. Be sure there are no conflicts either.

-It must have a proper title (which must be written in black bold letters for ease of identification)

-Only one Concept per post please (this is so they can be linked to)

-It must be worked out in detail. At least one full paragraph. More details can be edited in later.

Here's an example. Ever wonder who makes costumes for heroes in this universe?

Clotho Fashions

Several years ago, when the modern age of heroes began, Olympia Metaxas, a famous Greek fashionista, arrived in Easton. There she took notice of this fact and realized its potential. At first, Clotho (named after the Greek goddess who spins the Thread of Fate) only produced regular clothing, but in superhero style (capes, etc.) These were considered kitschy (and expensive) so the regular populace ignored them but the quirky socialites ate them up.

Then Olympia struck a deal with Omnitech to produced suits made of experimental materials that could work with superpowers without getting torn or burnt in the process. They soon had some famous heroes as clients as well, which helped Clotho's reputation even further. Sadly many villains also got their hands on them, illegally.

Olympia is still alive, and very active in Easton social circles. She's a close friend of Mayor Major, and often attends his galas (read: she's a potential kidnapping target.)

Opinions on the potential new rule: I think it would work. It would allow a lot more freedom, and it would encourage players to share their ideas more. That way loss of communication won't be as much of a problem. That and the GM would know where each character is, and he wouldn't have to worry so much about controlling other peoples characters.

The ability to intervene works too, and would prevent players from being lost in their own world (which I am guilty of sometimes.)

Oh yes, and a good name I think could be Doris Head (after Edith Head.)

Yeah, I'm aware the concept is older than The Incredibles, the joke was just too obvious to make.

And "Olympia" is an actual personal name. Or did you mean a full name? Hm. Olympia Metaxas? In Greek the name "Metaxas" means "silk" and the name was often given to someone who dealt with silk, usually a silk merchant or a weaver.

As for the company name, Orange Inc.? I mean... why not? Volcano Tech kinda sucked, anyways.

And the character rule... I fully on agree with this, though I would recommend 3 character maximum rule (to be quite frank, the only one who needs to keep this rule is ME, I think). So much story potential...

Also, the three character maximum rule is a good idea, although I myself am not sure. I wouldn't mind either way.

A large part of me wants Roken to live too. What if Rine (which we need a new name for to avoid confusion. Rine #2?) or rather, his particles escape from Roken after Val'ark attacks him?

When the Dimensional Guard arrive, the original Rine can take the newly separate personality and make him a Hardlite body. Roken's fate can be up to you then.

Personally, I want Roken to survive- and so does Val. So he's going to fight tooth, nail, and whatever appendages he has to rip Rine free and slaughter the son of a bitch once and for all. So, yeahhhh. If worse comes to worse, he'll probably try to kill Roken as a mercy kill and then dedicate his life to hunting Rine down. _{I know I said that Val'ark wasn't loyal to Roken anymore, but I meant mindless obedience. Now he has something a lot more dangerous- a sort of "family" ish love and loyalty.}

I've just been wondering... have all these various plots been occurring on the same day? And how many superpowered battles have happened out in public? I've been thinking of introducing a non-superpowered character who has some kind of stake in these happenings. Possibly a lawyer who specialises in defending supers against legions of lawsuits, or maybe a property developer or estate agent who's struggling to sell anything due to the current state of affairs. :V

In any case, Rine is definitely leaving Roken's psyche. I've finally decided what to do, and I've decided against making this version of Rine a Corrupted Copy. I just can't find a way to make it work. So, the original Rine is going to absorb the particles, and regain his memories on Kayden fully. Roken's fate is again up to you, I'll leave my last post as Roken open ended so you can do what you like.

As far as I can tell, yes, this has been a very hectic day. XD

Also, re: rules: I like the "control multiple of your characters" thing. Lets players shoulder more work on to themselves and frees up Sijo!

Good News, Everyone! I got my new glasses! Now to test how good I work with them.

And yes, all of the events starting with the attack of the N.E.X.U.S. robot until now have taken place on the same day AFAIK; not sure about the Bank Robbery though, I'll tell after I finish reading it.

Has there been much in the way of civilian casualties or property damage?
