I can kinda see how the Defenders are gonna come together.
Matt and Danny will work both angles. Danny will use his cash to help things when possible, while Matt will use his more passive abilities and his knowledge of the Law to ensure that something comes of their efforts.
Jessica and Luke will be more hands on: Jess tracks down important leads via her detective work, while Luke will be club that puts down with his hands what can't be put down with other methods.
And of course, when things get bad enough that none of them are effective on their own, they all gather together to lay the beat down so that then they could do their non hero thing.
One Strip! One Strip!I also like that the Netflix series show that you can't really stop crime by just punching criminals; there's more to it than that. Crime is a complex problem and it requires complex solutions.
Add that to the list of reasons why Dare Devil is the best Batman.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.It's an extended look at a scene we saw in the trailer, so no major spoilers.
EDIT-
They seem to have removed the clip...that's odd.

Early non-spoiler reviews are in and are near universally positive.
Ahhh, I like this. This is a great scene. I love how he just no-sells it all. In particular, that shot where he just kind of holds out his fist and the bat breaks on it. I know the guy's fist breaking and the Bullet Catch are the bigger moments, but it's that little detail of the bat that really hooks me.
I mean imagine if they were negative.
Nah :) I'm sure it's probably a good show. Netflix hasn't disappointed yet - Sense 8, Fuller House, Jessica Jones, Daredevil. I don't know what they're doing to put these shows out there but they need to keep doing it.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Youtube version of the clip. Hopefully this one won't be inexplicably deleted.
It's out. Now I will come back when I will be done with it - probably soon enough 'cause it's really good so far.
Yeah, I have just finished the origin episode...I am still laughing that they actually managed to put him into his whole get-up.
One question though: The whole "keep Harlem black" thing....is that referring to something specific? I get the impression that this is an actual political thing currently?
Anti-gentrification. Namely, against the practice of trendy businesses entering the area, thus increasing the prices of property. And pricing long standing residents out of their homes thanks to skyrocketing rent.
Because no one wants culture replaced with a row of Starbucks and $4,000/mo apartments only rich oligarchs seem to buy.

I've always had a fondness for well-crafted introduction scenes (I even discussed it yesterday with my mother while The Magnificent Seven with Yul Brynner and Steve Mc Queen was on TV). That's one of the things I like about Game of Thrones, for example, with Stannis or Tywin getting excellent ones.
Well, while it's not an introduction scene per se, I think Claire's first appearance on the show is just perfect.
This show is so good. I'm only on the first episode still, but holy fuck. I can't believe Marvel let this show use the n-word, especially in a conversation between two black people too.
It's a Netflix show. Netflix Marvel shows are super gritty and realistic. Daredevil actually having a religious background that impacts his character instead of typical Faux Symbolism (even if it does fall flat in Season 2). Jessica Jones dealing with rape victim PTSD. Granted the original Luke Cage stories I don't think would have gotten away with n''''a this, n''''a that, but in this day and age with the shows we have it'd be kind of ridiculous for a modern day Harlem, or any era of Harlem really, to not use racial slurs or be verbally clean.
I can't wait to see all the uncomfortable reviews. ^_^

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I don't think you understand my point. It's not a racial slur when black people use the n-word to describe themselves, especially when they're trying to reclaim that word. N-Word Privileges and all that. That's my entire point. I'm lauding Cheo Hodari Coker for doing this in a Marvel show, especially Luke Cage, which understandably, has a lot of things to say about being black in modern day America.

If you're saying you can't believe they did this and I'm saying it's not surprising because it would a disservice, and I'm still misunderstanding your point, then I apologize.

Turk! That's great, I guess he likes playing chess.

Crow: There's a plot?I'm only one episode in but I like it. Only major problem is that the Luke/Jessica ship seems to be dead for good so far. Was really hoping Jessica might show up here since Luke himself was a semi-major character in her show but if the Wikipedia page is to be trusted that isn't going to happen.
Claire is taking about the Hand at the hospital. I guess there is D Ds 2 overlap.
Crow: There's a plot?Yeah, but only a slight one....
Okay, another question (and I am really sorry for my lack of knowledge here): Is hoodie guy towards the end an actual musician one should know? And are all those people who turn up in the club real musicians, too?
I've seen 6 episodes so far, gonna take a break from the show.
Seven episodes deep for me, seems like a good place to break for the day.
"We'll take the next chance, and the next, until we win, or the chances are spent."I'm on six right now.
I just thought about something. The song that was playing in three during Luke's hallway scene, did it actually say 'mother fuckers'? I was so sure Marvel said that no one would ever say fuck, even in the Neftlix shows. The music was perfect for that fight though!
Crow: There's a plot?Heck, I actually feel like a character did straight-up say "fuck" at some point. Although that could be false memory syndrome on my part.
"We'll take the next chance, and the next, until we win, or the chances are spent."
It does seem to be a running trend in Netflix that punching everything to death isn't a very solid strategy. Daredevil always has to take down his foes by the law (i.e as a lawyer) rather than just beating them all to a pulp (Hand aside) as well and Luke Cage seems to be heading the same way. Jessica Jones was the only one where brute force really is the solution.
