  • Vietnam: we already have Le Loi.
  • Thailand: Aphai Mani is a national epic, so strong contender. Khun Phaen is prett awesome, but I think he's too similar to Diarmuid.
  • Indonesia: either Ken Arok or Gajah Mada. Hayam Wuruk if you go for a godly king.
  • Malaysia: Hang Tuah is famous in all South East Asia.
  • Sri Lanka: Ravana was from there, tho the story is technically Indian.

That's all I know.

@raziel: I find it silly that you think they'll dig that deep. This series runs on Rule of Cool, not on serious discussions on anthropology.

Edit: Oh, my ♥️

[up][up]Is that the manga adaptation?

Regardless of your opinion of the last American election, we can all agree on one thing- The Chinese Communist Party can choke on scrotes!

One of two, it adapts singularities two, four and six, I thinks, while the other one adapts chapters three, five and seven.

I do not know who had the idea of splitting the manga adaptation in two different series, but I'm willing to bet the verbs in his Linked In page are now firmly in the past tense.

Edit: So apparently Enkidu's NP is a "Anti-Purge" type.

The fuck does that mean? What, is it super effective against terrible horror movies?

Okay I’ve been off this game since September (feels like longer though that’s not a bad feeling really).

What’s happened since then?

[up][up]It means super effective against threats to humanity/the planet. Narita even made a tweet once commenting about how it's strong against Beasts in lore but not in gameplay.

Iirc Anti-Purge is a type of conceptual defense. Like whatever you throw at it won't have any effect unless the attack has X attribute.

So, my Google-Fu has failed me, as is usual, can someone point me to where I can find more about Sitonai? Freya and Louhi I'm just swimming in links, but Sitonai just zilch.

The only place where I can find Sitonai's story is in Japanese Pixiv dictionary. The Ainu is a strictly oral tradition culture, so the recorded stories are rare.

Yeah, I couldn't find it either. Good catch on the resource, though - it's a damn shame there hasn't been a more coordinated effort to record their folklore.

It's been fun.

Gotterdamerung 4-1 summary

Gordolf bullying is the most important part

Also since Lostbelt 3 is incoming soon, this is probably relevant

Wodime: Akuta has cut off communications. It looks like her Lostbelt’s King is a remarkable character. After all, that Akuta actually sighed while making her report, unable to maintain her poker face. Just how unbridled and bold of a hero could that be? I would like to directly speak with them once, if I could.

Not all that new, we've known Akita's King has been doing all the heavy lifting since that SEELE-style scene way back at the start of Anastasia.

However, if he really is a immortal version of that whats-his-name Chinese Emperor, would we be looking at a prospect case of Historical Hero Upgrade? Or was his reign actually known as benevolent?

Um, general consensus is 'brutal but effective' iirc.

#28093: Nov 18th 2018 at 4:35:48 PM

Shi Huang has just as many stories about him as a the Goodest Emperor Ever™ as he has stories about him as an evil tyrant and I guess an Ur-Example for evil Immortality Seeker. The one point most of his Historical Hero Upgrade and Historical Villain Upgrade tend to agree on is that he had less than zero mercy for lawbreaking. It's easy to guess that Lostbelt 3 will be a legalist dystopia.

[up] Maybe it's like Oda Nobunaga where the general public recognizes him more as a villain in multiple fictional works?

[up]Nobunaga these days have gotten a bit better reception. I mean, really, I'm getting the feeling that these days, it's just older works that plays the Demon King Nobunaga as straight as possible (Onimusha is one example, maybe Sengoku Basara too, but it wasn't created just recently), others like to subvert that as making him a Noble Demon or Dark Is Not Evil instead, or... well, look at our Nobu. I haven't really seen more modern work playing the Demon King Nobunaga trope as straight as the past had.

But Huangdi? ... I don't think he reached that level yet.

Even Sengoku Basara plays with Oda being evil. From what I remember about one of 4/Sumeragis endings Oda Nobunaga not only apologizes to his henchmen but Mitsuhide and Katsuie join him on his multiversal conquest adventures. As he finally realized the power of Bonds...which he'll use to burn the multiverse to the ground!

And Hisahide was still more evil!

There was also one of those card game animes a year or two back where all the characters are Sengoku characters in a modern setting and of course Yukimuras sensei turns out to be Nobunaga and a dick.

Like I said I didn't really count Basara Nobu because he was made in a more earlier past, Nioh is an example of a more 'modern' work to see how Nobu got portrayed (even if it's been I think a year since its release).

But then again, I wouldn't count on it on Capcom, they give middle finger to history and its complexity as long as it will result a great spectacle.
