The tengu/Nue one was challenging for sure but I found that night something something yokai guantlet that starts off with onmyo mages and ends with a onryoki I think worse.
Hideyori was the hardest dlc non sub-mission boss in N1 for me.

Is that the same one where you fight two tengu at once? That was awful.
It's called Night falls again, it's a postgame mission IIRC, and it's like one of the typical "here's a room/arena where a bunch of yokai spawn in waves, kill them and don't die" EXCEPT the spawns are timed so if you don't kill the enemies fast enough you'll end up with a ludicrous amount of enemies on the field likely resulting in being overwhelmed and death. What's worse is that they picked some of the most obnoxious enemies, with oni bi, rocket skellys, tengu because of course, revenants and it finishes off with onryoki since you apparently haven't fought him enough throughout the game.
Ok, going through the first games DLC. Doing the challenge where I fight the ENTIRE Date clan in a gauntlet....
....I want to die. Who the Fuck thought it was a good idea to through and then throwing in CENTIPEDE Shigezane in the middle of the fight just so that I have use living weapon spam, only for Masamune to appear, thankfully without starting off with his living weapon like in the rematch fight?
...I think it was this bullshit that caused the devs to give the main of Nioh 2 their new tools. They would have made those fights a cake walk with their burst counters.

Watch SymphogearI'd still get my ass kicked even with the extra tools. The mere thought of Fighting Centipede man AND Date Masamune in the same level comes close to giving me a panic attack.
Bleye knows Sabers. They already have a living weapon version of Shigezane perfectly usable, that they used a Dual Boss fight in the previous region. Why didn't they use that one?
Watch SymphogearBecause they want you to suffer, clearly.
Bleye knows Sabers.Beat Bloodsheds end main story. You definitely tell that even if you can debate on the story quality, the overall better characterizations in Nioh 2 has its seeds sewn in Bloodsheds end. Hell, a lot of Nioh 2's story ended up resulting in a lot of the shit that goes down in Defiant Honor and Bloodsheds end specifically.
And my god, Playing Nioh 2 makes Cha Cha all the more tragic, because it turns out her hatred for the Sengoku Era ended up being based on a great big misunderstanding...
Watch SymphogearChacha's entire life was spent having her families destroyed by the ambitions of men who saw her as a pawn. This game basically torpedoes all the moral nuance of the Sengoku Period by making everyone either good or Hijacked by Ganon, but historically speaking, Chacha was adopted by Toyotomi Hideyoshi at the age of seven, and he later made her his concubine after he got sick of his other wife Nene.
It's been fun.Lol yeah the "Actually it's all Otakemaru's fault" thing is borderline offensive, if only for how cheap it is.
I enjoy slaughtering the warlords on principle.
Bleye knows Sabers.I mean, they made the baffling decision to completely whitewash Nobunaga in the same game that prominently features what's probably his most coldhearted betrayal (of Azai Nagamasa), and the same game where you're supposed to apparently accept that Hide has a total change of heart from serving her (entirely morally justified now) master of twenty years just because Akechi mumbled some vague nonsense about balance.
The story's not good, is my point.
It's been fun.And Got my Platinum for Nioh 2. Just had to finish The Vipers Sanctum without destroying any of the snake statues.
Now back to Nioh 1 to go through the entire games on all the Difficulties
Watch SymphogearNioh 2 new update with new Missions and a Photo Mode. The First DLC pack with paid content comes July 30th, and our character goes back into the pastr to help out Minamoto no Toshitsune, or as he's called in the pass, Ushiwaka.
The new Missions are pretty cool, albiet rather easy now since I'm bascially almost maxed out for Way of the Strong entirely. Not being able to level Sync with them kinda hurts the diffuclty, too.
I beat Way of the Demon on Nioh 1 though.
What awaits for me in Way of the Wise!?
(Sees AMRITA FIENDS in the beginning Tower of London level. The first one not only glows red, but now Red enemies can randomly Debuff your buffs if they hit you now)
Me.................:

Watch SymphogearWell I already bought the DLC so I'll pick it up again.
Bleye knows Sabers. If Way of the Wise is as insane as I've seen in the first game, I can't wait to see what Way of the Nioh is like.
Watch SymphogearThe Tengu's Disciple must be Ushiwakamaru, right?
It's been fun.Yep, Minamoto no Yoshitsune is reffered to as Ushiwakamaru in the japanese version of the DLC description.
I can definitely see us fighting the strongest of Daitengu that taught Minamoto no Yoshitsune in Legend.
.....God Help us, regular Tengu are assholes as they are.
Watch SymphogearDirector of Nioh 2 on the series's overall success.
In particular if we do get a Nioh 3, he wants to go from Japan to Ireland. Hence why William is depicted as Half irish in the series. Late Edo period and Shinsengumi as well as China's Warring states period (To give Nioh an equivalent to Koei's Dynasty Warriors similarly to how its already Team Ninja's Take on Samurai Warriors) have also been considered as settings.
He also gives a shout out to Ghost of Tsushima.

Watch SymphogearDidn't think the series would ever have the chance of leaving Japan. Sounds like they're just spitballing for now though.
Sekiro, Nioh 2 and Ghost of Tsushima where all at the same E3. That was a good, samurai-centric E3.
Bleye knows Sabers.Ghost of Tsushima seems to be implementing a Stance system similar to Niohs, as well, for the Samurai combat. It even uses Omamaori Charms for stat increases, albeit as permanent boosts to Jin's abilities as opposed to an equipment add on like in Nioh.
Its Ninja portions are basically the Assassins creed in Japan people have begged Ubisoft to do for years now. That, or Tenchu.
Watch SymphogearSo with the steam sale, Nioh finally got a discount of 50% and I went and bought it.
Seems promising so far but one annoying problem I ran into is that certain spots in the game cause stuttering even with me lowering the settings (i know because it's always the same spots), like it has to reload the area or something. It's not super terrible since the game is mostly fluid 60FPS in actual combat scenarios, but it's annoying.

Console gamer master race.
Use an axe. I say this for no particular tactical benefit, but because I like axes.
Bleye knows Sabers.I've gravitated towards the nodachi but have not really used most of the other types of weapons so maybe I should do that.
The Mission can die in a fire. Especially since I've been playing Nioh 2 as well and I miss the burst counters.
I've gotten down the Phantom burst counter in particular down to a tee, so it makes most enemies a cakewalk now, but not having them in the first game really shows how nasty the Tengu are.
