The Riddler would work as a great mastermind-style Big Bad. If Telltale goes that route, I hope they work out some great puzzles and traps.

I think a Riddler-Mad Hatter team up would be interesting, if only for a scene I've been thinking about: Batman quotes the "How is a raven like a writing desk" riddle from Alice in Wonderland, which Mad Hatter would recognize but not Riddler. Since the riddle was intended to never have an answer and so has several, it would drive Riddler into a frenzy as he demands to know which answer is the 'right' one. He gets so enraged he threatens to kill 'Alice' if Hatter doesn't tell him. Basically triggering a Let's You and Him Fight Enemy Civil War

Hopefully this doesn't begin to drop in quality towards the end like Game of Thrones.

What happened in that game?

The pacing got wierd towards the end and the events occured too fast with an unfulfilling ending, then again it was a blatant sequel baiting.

Game of Thrones game just got boring and confusing after a while. Walking Dead Season 2 was never boring, but the characters were all morons and the writing had a lot of contrivances. Plus the standard Telltale feature of "Your choice didn't really matter"

Any thoughts on supporting characters besides the obvious Alfred and Gordon? I wonder if Dick Grayson will show up, as Robin or Nightwing.

Maybe they'll put in a Romance Sidequest with Selina

I don't know that anything in a Telltale game can really be described as a "sidequest."

I'd like to see Barbara, although I'm not sure if they'd do Batgirl or Oracle.

Speaking of which, do you think Batman will be the only playable character? They've proven that they can do multiple P Cs.

I don't see why Batman wouldn't be the only playable character.

Multiple perspectives would be interesting. Batman is on one side of the city and Robin on the other, that kind of thing.

Since I never got that Heavy Rain DLC that would let you play as the Origami Killer, I would enjoy maybe playing as the villain first and then trying to solve the crime as Batman by looking for any clues I may have left.

I really want Telltale to step up their game on this one. If there was a time to get ambitious, its now. The game isn't coming out until next year, so they have plenty of time to add in multiple story directions so that, at the very least, your choices actually matter.

A lot of Adventure games have sequences in which the player controls multiple characters in addition to sequences with only a single character, and puzzles that require multiple characters exploring or doing actions simultaneously. Batman lends himself to that given how huge the Bat-family is and how often one of his allies will join him for various situations anyway.

None of the Telltale games I've played have that mechanic, though. Well, maybe Sam and Max Season 3, but even than in Sam and Max games its typically more of an inventory item thing or situational.

Barbara being Oracle makes sense for an Adventure game, though, as lots of games have the character the player can ask questions, which either give hints, exposition or verbalize situations. They could just use Alfred for that, though, since that's pretty much what he does already.

Barbara being Oracle, does not make sense given the way they've chosen to present the game in its reveal.

This is not modern Batman. This is classic Batman. Newsprint, film noir, 1960s Batman.

Dick Grayson is Robin. Barbara Gordon is Batgirl. Poison Ivy is a brand new character.

[up]What are you talking about? I don't think anything has been confirmed yet.

The art they released appears to be in that older Noir style, but that doesn't mean it has to be early in his career. The character is timeless, I would love a Batman game to have an old-timey setting and atmosphere but still have the whole supporting cast and history. Would be unique and bold.

I'd honestly be all for Batman facing up against the mafia. Carmine Falcone, Salvatore Maroni, Rupert Thorne, hell Boss Carl Grissom!

It'd be amazing to see Batman face up with the mob for a bit. You don't really see that often anymore.

[up]Carmine Falcone is typically their go-to mob boss, with his "Roman Empire" being under assault from the heroes as well as Boss Salvatore Maroni.

Antonio "Fat Tony" Zucco would be a good mafia villain for Dick Grayson's story arc.

However, Roman Sionis and his Black Mask Gang/False Face Society serve the same purpose as the Mob while also having a notable masked supervillain as the antagonist.

He's not a supervillain tho. He's just a Bad Boss with a facial disfigurement, like Jigsaw from The Punisher.

[up] By that logic, almost NONE of the Bat Rogues are technically super villains, save for Poison Ivy.

Joker doesn't have super powers, neither does Penguin, Two-Face, even Scarecrow relies on good old fashioned chemicals to screw shit up.

Funny enough Harley Quinn could count as one by that definition since her natural agility got boosted to the extreme(along with all other stats) by Poison Ivy once(this was also the time where Ivy made Harley immune to all her poisons so they could be close without Ivy hurting her).

Likewise, Black Mask would be more willing to use a rogue metahuman as his Dragon anyways.

The Arkham games sometimes had Giant Mooks that were just regular people that were inexplicably 10 feet tall and as buff as Bane, which was silly. Just have Bane or Killer Croc as The Heavy or The Brute for a Chessmaster Big Bad like Sionis.
