Putting this back on track more, one thing to me stands out that no one's asked yet. What proof is there this is specifically a "series"?
I'm not expressing doubt in it's existence but Boomerang wanting a new series of one of the shows that has been off the lineup for a long time is a bit much to swallow.
It would make more sense if this is yet another of WBA's HB revival movies. Since they seem to greenlight these things like two years in advance, it has been reasonably speculated they would have had something else in the offerings for this year that aren't the set in stone spots we've seen for the last multi years. (aka not a Scooby or Tom and Jerry, since it be too early for them to have green lit a new Flintstones or Quest film based on Stone Age Smackdown and Spy Quest's performances)
If they really took this gamble, then I'll take my hat off to it. But I'm not sure if this will turn out a whole series, or just Boomerang getting to air a movie that (could also be a pilot) right before the dvd.
And I will remind everyone when the dvds first started the top picks were Flintstones, Scooby Doo, Jetsons, Jonny Quest and Wacky Races. They already have at least Three Scoobys a year. They used Flintstones and Jonny Quest last year, A Jetsons one is in production, doesn't in stand to reason they could have made a Wakcy Races one too?
I also checked the Animation Guild's page, they list typically the shows for TV as they are being worked on. No Wacky Races listed while say Wabbit, Be Cool and Bunnicula are. But if it's not an ongoing series and has a release date for this year, it's probably already done.
And let me just end off by saying I would love to be wrong and see a whole new Wacky Races series ordered out of pure confidence. But so far I see the chances leaning more towards movie debut.
I can just imagine WWE pulling a crossover based off Wacky Races...it'd literally be Crush Hour: The Animated Movie
A Powerpuff Girls/WWE crossover where the Heel wrestlers get superpowers from Him or Mojo and the Girls have to team up with the Face wrestlers would be kinda cool. Especially because you know Buttercup would just love it.
Personally I think the one that fits the best they still need to do is with Tom and Jerry. They beat each other up all the time. I know Scooby's WB's top beast, but Flintstones and Jetsons getting the new productions over Tom and Jerry did surprise me both times.
On this subject news of 2016's Tom and Jerry Movie broke on Amazon.uk. It's a sequel to the Oz one. This with Wrestlemania Mystery 2, account for two of this years slate.
And I won't be surprised if a Wacky Races movie is also one of them.
Now if WWE greenlights yet another one if Wrestlemania Mystery 2 does well. Wacky Races would it a strange one. I think the best plot there might be have most of the Wacky Racers call out sick and have whoever the hell sponsors the Wacky Races call Vince Mc Mahon for help. So we see Dick Dastardly now have to race against a bunch of WWE wrestlers with his old dirty tricks.
It's been the longest time since we've gotten any news on this, but:
1) Here's the potential redesign for Penelope Pitstop, along with general art direction
2) Confirmation of Warner Bros aiming for a 2017 release◊

I love the designs so far and I bet it will look even cooler animated.
"We be we baby!"I don't have a LinkedIn account, so I can't see the designs.
All I saw was Penelope Pitstop in the first link.
Finally, some new footage provided by the Boomerang UK 2017 sizzle reel. It goes by a little too fast, so you may want to take advantage of the You Tube player's speed settings. Interesting art style they're going with along with some Conspicuous CG.

Wait, So Polly and the Zhu Zhu pets is moving to Boomerang? Eh, makes sense.
"We be we baby!"A new Wizard of Oz cartoon? Let's hope this one will bring all the other parts of the story to life and not go for a try hard gritty, realistic Game of Thrones take on the characters. Because so far the only other Oz works to adapt the other books besides Wizard of Oz is the anime, that Return to Oz movie and the sequel to the Tom & Jerry Wizard of Oz movie.
Seriously that series is the American equivalent to Jo Jo's Bizarre Adventure, except it still barely got past it's part 3 Ozma of Oz.
Back on point, it cool to receive footage of this show. I'm okay with the cgi as it seems like the art style fits perfectly well with it. Can't wait to see it.

MIAI noticed they call the Wabbit segments 'Looney Tunes'. Is that the series' name for the European and African audiences, or are they renaming the series altogether?
I say it's just for them. It would be too much work to rename the whole thing.
"We be we baby!"Wabbit is also called "Bugs! A Looney Tunes Production" in some regions.
I wouldn't get my hopes up about that Wizard of Oz show being the thing that finally brings out more of the Oz verse.
As for Wacky Races, anyone else really want to see the Hooded Claw in this show?

Insert witty 'n clever quip here.Last night I actually had a dream about the Ant Hill Mob replacing Dick and his crew in trying to catch the pidgeon. While piloting an airplane version of their car.
I blame this thread.
Well, since we're on the subject of it coming back...
"We be we baby!"So, this show has been on for about a month, airing on Boomerang apparently, and it's... not bad. I at least don't mind it.
It's less a pinball plot with a ton of different characters running through different shenanigans at once, which was admittedly my favorite thing about the original, and instead it's more of a sitcom with each episode putting the characters (less of them, too) through a handful of running gags. I guess it's kind of like Wabbit that way.
In an odd way, it's kind of like there's both more stuff with the characters (in that their gags are less one-linery and there's more interaction humor) and less stuff with them (since they're not getting their own subplots any more) at the same time.
Still fun, though.
Also, was Dick Dastardly's full name always Richard Milhous Dastardly? Cause that's hilarious.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Yeah, it was in Yogi's Treasure Hunt.
And yeah, I've seen like half the series and it's decent. They're less competitive and more Vitriolic Best Buds, plus there are some new characters in the mix (Penelope's Evil Twin and the racers' manager P.T. Barnstorm).
The second season of this series is out (or at least making the rounds) and it's... gotten crazier.
The whole thing is like 80% self-deferential jabs, meta humor, animation and film industry gags, classic Hanna Barbera references, and just in general demolishment of the fourth wall and whatever semblance of order and sense the show had left.
For example, there's an episode where William Hanna and Joseph Barbera show up and put Dick Dastardly on trial for being a horrible character whose jokes have lost what made them funny. There's another episode where Peter Perfect stops racing (and goes to join a remake of Magilla Gorilla) because the remake isn't making the money he thought it would, and is replaced with a Terminator expy with the morality of a television producer. And tons of gags about how art students, writers and animators are either clinically insane or living in hell, the characters being forced to do their roles - no matter how stupid - because that's what the script says, or just plain blatantly and extensively explaning what the actual tropes and cliches happening on screen are.
The former episode is complete a Scooby Doo-esque Chase Scene, where the song played over the chase is about how the writers have no idea what to fill those few minutes with and are instead trying to distract us with nothing. In another, Space Ghost shows up (but not really) and everyone points out how much more he deserves a show.
I love it even more now, but man has it become a big ball of weird.
