Finally getting to watch this show.
It's pretty standard Magical Girl fare so far, right down to the ridiculous villains. Everything is played completely straight here.
I can't get enough of Mariannete's slim, sexy figure in her Ladybug outfit.
"We be we baby!"That's not creepy.
I really enjoy the love square factor. It feels like a nice twist on an old trope. And I usually hate jealousy angles!
Of course not, it's fan-worship.
"We be we baby!"I really like how hyperactive Marinette can be and how Alya balances her out, reminds me of Candace and Stacy. I just wish the latter could say "girl" a bit less. Cant decide if I like Alpha Bitch yet.
Mr Pidgeon was great, villains in this show can be really awesomely cheesy. Sadly all except Hawk Moth. You gotta love the beginning when he opens the window and says "Time to release another Akuma" and all I can think of is "What where you doing when you're not releasing Akuma? Do you just fall asleep until window is open like parrot with cloth on its cage?"

Well he is a Miraculous user and if the fan theory about him being Adrien's dad is true he's probably busy doing whatever he's famous for.

Running a major fashion company (perfume, probably designer clothes, ect).
I really hope the origin episodes have something on Hawk Moth's origin as well.
I wonder what made Adrian(Brody)'s dad such a narcsist dick in the first place. Probably money or no wife.
"We be we baby!"Anyone else thinks that Marinette is more interesting then Ladybug and Cat Noir is more interesting then Adrien?
He's obviously Adrian's dad. This show plays tropes straighter than a train to the stars.
I too love Marinette's Ladybug persona. The sexy angle is definitely being played, for both her and Cat Noir, though a bit less over-the-top in his case. The reason I find it sweet rather than creepy... well, I refer you to this Gumball episode.
The whole show's concept feels like a girl's most quintessential, artless empowerment-escapism fantasy, and a Spiritual Successor to the likes of Fantômette.
Though I can't wait for the Deconstruction Fics where all these disruptive attacks on Paris cause things like drive down property prices, cause anti-cape movements, start new trends in art and fiction, and get joked about on The Daily Show, and cause Trump to make outlandish claims about Parisians being afraid for their lives (even though they'd have every reason to be!).

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Dafuq?
"We be we baby!"*Sigh* Deconstruction Fics are the WORST. They take the fun, enjoyment, and disbelief out of everything, just to make them more dark & edgy - which usually turns out BS, in my opinion.

New Web Browser, same old Shokew. So, can this show be classified as a Sleeper Hit?
x2
Probably not. People have been waiting on this show to come out for three years. I think that would disqualify that from making it one.

Nevertheless, is it still popular?
Cat Noir is more interesting than Adrien because Cat Noir is who Adrien gets to be without any expectations on him, with a bit of 'this is what I think is cool'. Marienette is more interesting than Ladybug for similar reasons.
Well, that depends on the current ratings.
"We be we baby!"Yeah, I do think they're written this way on purpose, somewhat.
LB and CN are both wish fulfillments, especially the former. Brave, confident, boys notice her...It just that Marinette wishes she could be more in control, while Adrien wants to be more out of it. Wonder what that says about Hawk Moth.
Whats more, once you remove Cat Noir, Adrien is textbook example of Satellite Love Interest. Arguably one hero is in love with more idealized version of the other one.
Anyone wonders if public knows about Akumas? After all, no one tries to find and arrest villains after Ladybug take care of them.
I assume so, given how public the battles are and how Ladybug purifies Akumas in full light.
I cant wait to see PS As on television.
"And remember, if you get upset, butterfly will turn you into supervillain and you'll kill us all. So no matter what THINK HAPPY THOUGHTS."
"Don't be an ass or the person you hurt may try and kill you with thematic powers!"
"Remember, Just because someone's dad is a supervillain does not mean you can't be best friends and say cheesy hip lingo!"
"We be we baby!"Oh yeah, that's another thing with the show: the really jarring Totally Radical lingo. "Off the chain"? Really?
Well from what I hear the show's written so that you can start with any episode and not be confused. Not only that but for the French version (each version has its own airing order so I don't know if this will apply to the English dub) the two part origin story is going to be the season finale.
