So, it was time for Seiga to give her what she wanted. She leaned in and whispered in Yoshika's ear, "I bet you really want to go with them. To see the ocean, and to beat wildlife up."
Yoshika nodded excitedly. "And I bet you'd be super helpful, because there's little in the land or sea that can defeat the might of a jiangshi, riiiiiiiight?"
Yoshika continued nodding, even faster. "And I bet you'd think that sitting here while everyone else has fun is not fun at all, I take it?"
Yoshika's head was practically vibrating at this point, she was nodding so fiercely. "If all my bets are on, then, I think I can let you out of my sight for a moment. It'll be a solo mission." Yoshika's face turned to confusion as she stopped nodding. "I need you to say "I'm really strong and I can't die" in exactly five seconds. Got it?"
The jiangshi said "What, wha-" before she was telekinetically flung out of the chair, rising into the air and quickly landing a distance away with a solid thump before Rex's party. As told, she dazedly said "I'm really strong and I can't die" to this group.
"As much as I like her company," Seiga said to the remaining party goers as she turned back to them, "I require just a little time without her once in a while. It makes the average IQ in the room go up a good amount." Now left with the odd cavalcade of Sylvia the horse-thing, Ara the spear-woman and Viola the normal-person, she was left without much to say. A little awkward silence on her part later, and she asked them "...So, since this place may not be safe in a while, I doubt our little tea party is going to last much longer, I take it?"

Outside Library - Moment Over
"I wasn't planning on it," Zelda said, "Like I said, given who I'm dealing with I'm not expecting all of them to be open. But if some are willing to give me a chance, then that's good enough for me."
She was referring to Caro when speaking of the "light," but Sans took it to mean somebody else. Judging by the scarf he was wearing, she guessed he was talking about his since-deceased brother. Since they were on the subject, maybe now she could ask about it....
Unfortunately, or fortunately, she didn't get the chance before someone new came up to them and bluntly asked what was happening. He looked to be another robot, albeit one that was more human than Grimlock or the robot who threatened Miss Tairee that morning.
"As far as I know, nothing big's happened here," she said, "Just the usual library business, unless there's something I'm missing...?"
Come to think of it, wasn't the day's challenge supposed to start soon? Between her planned meeting with the anti-humans, the fight at the balconies, and the chat with Sans she had just now, she'd almost forgotten about it.

"You mean like the previous day where an entire horde of monstrosities came in and threatened everyone?" X asked, if this was common, this would be difficult.
"I apologize for rudely interrupting earlier, I needed to know what's going on," he said, expression softening as he extended a hand.

Suddenly someone showed up out of nowhere and began asking them about what had been going on. Well that was one way to the end the conversation.
"as far as i know there's nothing going on right now. you'd have more luck asking the librarian for info than either of us." said Sans, shrugging, "and speaking of nothing, i'm gonna go inside to do just that."
Sans then began walking back towards the library now that he succesfully defused the whole situation with Zelda and even got to know what she was up to.
As soon as Sans got there, he went to a nearby couch and lied down on it, blissfully unaware of everything that was going on.
"I'm fine!" Rick belched and looked around as the great metal construction shuddered under the weight of... something that Rick was in no condition to fight at the moment. Rick skidded 180 degrees, his legs wheeling wildly as his feet met the slick wet surface of the metal floor.
"Time to *urp* leave," shouted Rick as he began bolting back the way he had come. There was a brief silence as he charged down the hall before shouting over his shoudler, "...you know, unless y-you want to get eaten by a Cthulhu or a kaiju or whatever the hell this thing is!"
"Okay okay okay, I'm calm, I'm calm..." Morty's eyes widened in spite of himself when the tunnel shook again, and he started shaking at his completely irrational fear of being violently killed. He swallowed and tried not to think about the giant sea monster who was no doubt racing up from the stygian depths of the ocean, homing in on pubescent teenagers who spent too much time on websites that he probably shouldn't know about.
Jack wanted him to try and help the woman, who looked as though she'd been injured in a robot fight or something, and asked if he knew any first aid tricks - Morty swallowed and racked his brain for whatever bits of fragmentary knowledge he'd learned from Billy the Safety Beaver in fourth grade.
"Uh... uh.... u-uh...." he stammered, verbally stalling as he mentally fast-forwarded through what bits of cheap Korean animation still lingered in his brain in the hopes of finding something meaningful. "D-don't... move her? I think?" he finally spat out.
John showed off his abilities, he could control the wind, turn into it, and fly. He also had some hammers that could froze someone in place and make them... drop things? Yeah, sure, that could probably come in handy.
"Ok, that's pretty cool. I think we could use some of that. Welcome aboard" Yoshika introduced herself by falling from somewhere and listing her abilities: Super strength and immortality "Cool, you can also join in"
So to summarize: The blonde kid could cure people, Mirai—as she had showed before—could use her blood to make constructs, and Yoshika was a tank. With John's wind powers, Twilight's and Caro's magic (plus her dragon), PK's bombs, and anyone else's ability that wanted to help in the fight, this really was a poweful team.
"I have something in mind"
Rex walked to the door, motioning everyone to follow him, right after creating his wings to be ready to take off at any moment.
He placed his hand on the door and looked back, adressing everyone in the library "We need every flier to lure that thing back here. Everyone else stay on the docks so you can attack it" He then put on his goggles "Sounds good?"
Gon, taking the rear:
"Go ahead." Gon told Rick. "I'll cover the rear. Let me know if you see anything that looks dangerous."
The assassin said when he followed him close behind.
Outside Library -> Library - Just in Time for Madness
"If you're talking about the day in general, as far as I can tell the city's covered in water and most of the buildings are underneath it," Zelda said, "Also, there's apparently some hostile things running around down there, as well. And it's getting around the time that I think the daily challenge is starting, or will start."
She turned to the library. "I think the others, or at least Miss Tairee, would know more than either of us would. I also had something to do in there myself, so I think I need to go back inside myself."
At that, she went back inside. The first thing she noticed was Sans immediately going to bed, which considering how late it was she couldn't blame him. As opposed to bothering him more, she returned to her table. It didn't take her long to hear the panicking over the walkie-talkie, and as she looked around the others seemed to be getting ready for action. She was sure what all of this meant, but she felt the need to ask anyway.
"I take it the challenge has begun?"

A team had been assembled, and prepared for the fight ahead. Being someone capable of flight, Twilight presumably was going with Rex.
Zelda came in and asked if the challenge had started.
"Looks like it."
With that, she walked near Rex and spread her wings.

Karkat - Outside the Library - THIS IS A HORRIBLE PLAN
Karkat sat outside the library, holding his hand to his head. Man, he was really bleeding...his shirt was stained red with all the blood he wiped on it. Fucking John and his windy powers...he noticed a human come outside for a few seconds, then turn back into the library. That was weird. And suspicious. Sort of. He really just needed a reason to eavesdrop and—they were gonna do what
WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?! Karkat shouted at Rex and the others inside the library. YOU'RE TRYING TO GET THAT THING OVER HERE?! DO YOU ACTUALLY WANT TO FUCKING DIE?!
(holds pool noodle threateningly) Do you want to know what we do to artists?
Sophie nodded without another word. She followed Curly, trailing behind and to the side, materializing her gauntlets just in case.
THE SLORG!
The leviathan didn't seem to notice right away when Ripjaws got off it and swam upwards, already brushing its underside by the time Ripjaws yelled at it from above. Then it definitely looked up, and once Ripjaws turned away, reared itself up as the runes carved along it started to glow. Looking up towards the surface, Ripjaws didn't get any real warning until the beam of sparkling energy shot through the water just past him, piercing up into the sky beyond for half the surface to see.
Having narrowly missed, the leviathan then gave chase, coming up frighteningly quickly towards Ripjaws and swinging its smaller set of claws in on him as he was about to reach the surface. Those on the surface would see the larger set of claws that stuck farther forward already breaching the surface.
"Help? I, don't need help" Kelsey said between breaths, and struggled to get to her feet on shaky legs. "I need, death" she stated, nearly stumbling and looking at Jack and then glancing around, "where's more of, these damned robots? Or, those pirates? I've gotta, die fighting."
Blatantly ignoring Morty's statement, Kelsey started trying to move towards one of the stairways that went to one of the ocean boardwalk buildings, despite looking like she could, and probably should, fall over and lose consciousness any moment.
Nails lowered his eyebrows and tried to think as Cole went on. "Made of metal, not alive but has something like life? That's gotta be a robot or golem or something. Definitely not a living creature, but instead it's like it's..." Nails trailed off and then silently, almost just mouthing the words, muttered, "Jiminie Christmas, it's a machine!" Then he shook his head. "No, no, it couldn't be..." the militia member trailed off as he saw the blue beam fire up into the sky in the distance.
Then of course right on que, his walkie talkie piped up. "I see it! I see it! It's like a giant lobster and it's heading right for the surface!" one of the other militia members called since Ripjaws had lured the thing above the pitch black depths. Nails' eyes went wide and mouth slacked for a bit, then, mind clearly racing, he hastily grabbed his walkie talkie and yelled into it.
"Everyone! This is Nails! I know what it is!" Nails yelled as the chatter was going, and quickly the channel went silent so he could continue. "It's not a beast it's a giant robot! It can shoot a beam from its mouth that makes stuff explode, and it can fly!" the militia member continued, around the time that the large claws were breaching the surface on the horizon.
Thomas stayed silent as various people relayed what they could do and their ideas/plans, though did look a bit horrified when Caro mentioned that Fried could change size and backed away from them. Finally Rex stated his plan out loud as Thomas followed to the door, and Thomas' eyes widened a tad. "Um... Is that wise?" Thomas muttered, glancing back at Miss Tairee and barely missing the blue beam firing out of the water in the distance.
Despite what the young wizard expected though, Miss Tairee did not look angry or offer any objection. She did clearly hear the plan, because she was looking right towards Rex and raised her eyebrows slightly when she heard it, one a little more than the other. However, she then started typing on her computer again. Seeing that she had such a blase reaction, Thomas let out a simple, "huh" then turned to look at Rex again. "Y-yeah, I guess I'm ready to give it a shot" the young wizard said, pulling his wand from his cloak and holding it ready down at his side.
Rachel meanwhile was listening to her own walkie talkie, just listening and not transmitting. As she heard Nails' over the channel she nearly choked for a moment and then yelled out, "IT CAN FLY!?!" About this time, the front claws of the leviathan were starting to break the surface in the distance.

For the Horde!
Ripjaws swam upwards, hearing a very strange noise and then wincing when a giant laser beam passed right by him and erupted out of the water. He screamed as the Leviathan came at him like a bat out of hell, and Ripjaws dove off to the side just as the Leviathan seemed to be approaching. "Ole!" Ripjaws exclaimed to the Leviathan as its claws burst from the water. Ripjaws then swam to the surface as quickly as he could, pulling his head above the water.
"Now! Get it!! FIRE AT WILL!!" Ripjaws shouted as loudly as he could before diving back underwater and swimming away from this gargantuan monstrosity as fast as his fins could carry him, staying close to the surface to make sure the Leviathan would be an easy target for the land-bound friends.
I can still hail the Horde even though the company has shamed us. Strength and Honor even if Blizzard has neither.
Library - In big, deep trouble
Like she had expected, Thomas didn't take the notion that Fried could get bigger well and backed away from them. She hoped there was something that could be done about it, or else it would be really hard for them to work as teammates.
Lune came over and asked if she could help.
"Actually, yes. The boss of today's challenge has appeared and it is a huge underwater, apparently of some mechanical nature, creature that is wrecking everything down there. Ben is trying to lure it her to surface so we can fight it," Caro explained, "I naturally am gonna be flyng on Fried during such a battle. So say, you have a pretty good long range in that Valsione form of yours, right? So why don't you come along with us?"
Rex's plan was having those who could fly attract the creature back here so those who were ground-bound could fight it. She had to question the wisdow of doing that a bit, as had Thomas, but Miss Tairee only seemed to be slightly bothered by the possibility of having the library being utterly trashed.
Then more details about the creature, or rather machine, that they would be facing were revealed. What was most worrying was that it had bombardment type attacks and could fly. Both of those definitely put a damper on their plans, but being on air was still probably better than on land or water.
"Well, let's go then," She said to no one in particular before turning back to Lune and adding, "If you're coming with us, please follow."
She then made her way to the dock outside, joining Rex and Twilight. She then proceed to cast Dragon Soul Summon and unseal Fried, turning him back into his much larger, true form. She mounted on him and then, if Lune had followed them, she would wait until the other girl also climbed on.
Whatever the case, after a while, they would then take to the sky and start searching from above for any signs of the huge machine emerging.

Grimlock; Robot mode
Library -> Lost at Sea, the Now Not So Mysterious Disappearance of the Dinobot -> Back to Step One
Suddenly, to anyone near the east side of the library, they would see a giant splash before they would see Grimlock climbing up the side and onto land. He then shook his head and himself of the water on him before he went inside, a slightly annoyed expression on his face. What had led to this when he was inside the library some time ago?
Well, several hours before, Grimlock thought a bit on Miss Tairee's offer. He didn't really want to bother her but she was there to help however she can. But he didn't really know what to ask. As he kept thinking, apparently Miss Tairee wanted to deal with something and suggested everyone to go somewhere upstairs. When he saw, if somewhat vaguely, who she was dealing with, he decided to listen to her and head upstairs...to the second floor. He watched near the center of the library behind a bookshelf. He knew Miss Tairee could handle herself but well...he couldn't help but stand nearby if needed. Just in case.
When he went back down, he had waited for his turn...until Miss Tairee basically answered him through Zelda. He was right. She wouldn't be able to make a vessel for him to go across the ocean. With that in mind, he decided to try an idea that formed in his head while Miss Tairee was dealing with blue guy. He got four of the boats and tried to use them for each of his limbs. And what happened? He spent had spent nearly the entire day climbing the outside of the various underwater tunnels because he fell off the boats. He didn't reach the library directly but thankfully, luck was on his side as the building island he was on was close enough and tall enough for him to jump from the top of the building and land at the outside of the library.
To say the least, he was annoyed because as he came up at the library and saw Ben, the person he was looking for the whole day, leave the library. But that changed to concern as he heard all the commotion and chatter, mostly thanks to Caro. He gritted his teeth. The challenge was here. He went outside, near Rex and the others. At Rex's plan, he said,
"I'll wait here then. I'll sink if I get in the water."
And then he heard Karkat's words.
"Then get out of here if you don't wanna!" he said to him.
He really wished there was more he could do. He felt useless waiting but it would be worse if he was an open target underwater. He readied himself if it came close. As much as he wanted to attack now, especially with Ben's shout, he didn't have anything long range. He was just going to have to stand by.
"You said you had a dream... That dream... Make it come true! ... If anyone can, it's you!" - N (shortened) Oh, and I'm a girl.
I just want to help!
Cole shook his head a bit as though to clear it out, looking back at Nails as the man seemed to be sorting out what he had said, but all the spirit did was get back to his feet and reach out to take back his amulet. "I...I am not sure what we can do here. Perhaps we should get to the library...it is supposed to be safer there. We can tell other people to go with us?"
He looked back at the horizon where the creature had appeared, watching with some concern, taking a step closer to Nails. "I...I-I would like to...to not go near that..."

Lucas knew that the battle was soon to properly start for the people by the library. In his mind he could already feel the frantic beat of battle.
Everyone around him was ready to fight, it seemed. Caro and Lune were going to fly up in the sky, where Lucas wouldn't be able to help them. Therefore, he set a double layer of a Shield and a PSI Shield on the two before they left.
The best time to apply buffs was now.Offense Ups were given to Plague Knight, because he said he had powerful weapons, and Yoshika, since it seemed she mainly used brute strength rather then anything more complex.
Why is a yam attacking me?

Rex announced his plans to have the monster lured to the library itself. "What?!" Garrett shouted. "In here?! Are you...", but he stopped himself. It wouldn't do to show too much concern about the sea monster... it was in his interest to downplay the threat, so as not to dissuade people from accepting the even harder 'bonus challenge'.
Quietly, Garrett decided to slink away down to the boat pier, row somewhere else, and wait out the upcoming fracas in peace. He left the building, walking past Karkat, who was currently screaming obscenities at Rex. But as Garrett approached the boats, a bright beam shot out of the water; as the thief stopped in his tracks, he saw the claws of the monster break through the surface.
Dammit. It was too risky to try his luck in the boat now. Garrett ran back into the library, yelling to Karkat on his way: "What're you doing? Get inside! It's coming!" Once inside, he entered the nearest elevator, rode it to the top floor — where it might be safer (or not) — and observed the monster through the windows.
Curly stopped suddenly as the voices on the militia channel quieted while Nails told everyone what it could do. The beam was pretty obvious when it lit up the water nearby when it tried to shoot Ben. She promptly turned around and stuck her machine gun back in her pocket and pulling the Spur out to get it charging as she headed for the ladder again. "Never mind, that thing can fly and it's gonna be out of range of whatever turret thing those militia guys mentioned if it's above the surface".

It had been a bit of long-shot to ask Morty if he knew anything. It was decent advice, but it kind of didn't help when they were trying to get out of the tunnels and somewhere the woman could get help. It didn't matter really, since straight after the woman started to move anyway.
"Whoa, whoa, hey!" Jack moved forward in concern, ready to catch the woman as she tried to stand. "I don't think you should be moving around too much right now."
The spirit twitched slightly when she outright stated she wanted to die, and apparently by fighting. A concern frown spread across his face, and motioned for Morty to follow before going after her. He moved up to the side with the uninjured arm, and attempted to move himself under it to support her. "Hey now, you shouldn't say stuff like that. You don't need to die. We'll find you someone who can fix you up, alright."

Well, that's great. The behemoth could attack anyone from the ocean and attack anyone from the sky. The only thing that could possibly make this worse was if the creature knows how to camouflage itself.
Fortunately, Caro had used her magic on Fried and Fried became his large form. Caro ordered Lune to follow them and Lune just nodded. After boarding Fried, Lune waited for further orders.

Library - Skies above - Last boarding call
Fortunately, Lune soon joined them. At the same time, Lucas appeared to have applied some sort of boost magic on them both. That reminded her that she should probably do something similar for the others who would fly over to the mechanical beast.
With that in mind, Caro applied her usual combination of a speed boost and a defense enchantment on both Rex and Twilight.
With that done, she finally Fried take to the skies and began to survey the water surface below. From so high above, it wasn't hard to soon spot the large set of claws breaking the surface of the water.
"Here it comes. We need to get ready. You probably should transform too," she said to Lune, as she went full alert and got ready to cast any necessary spells.
I think I can...
Library - It's Darius All Over Again
"all right then. count me in! good to meet ya, rex." John then initiated a high five with him.
Then a robot came in. "whoa, hey! are you a robot? you look pretty cool. my name's john. and you?" Meeting a giant robot was pretty cool, and you didn't experience it every day, so it was truly a fucking awesome situation.
Then everything started going to shit, when the beam charged past the library. "alright. let's do this. i hope everyone's ready." He readied his Vrillyhoo Hammer, and tagged along with Caro's group. "i'll be tagging along with you guys."

X had missed a lot, This city was too confusing especially with all it's constant shifts and he had little to go on.
Still, the Reploid could tell this was a dangerous situation and dashed over to the closest individual he could find. A odd skeleton like individual, rather short and wearing a blue coat.
Once he got close, he stepped into the conversation and said "If I may, update me on everything that's going on."
