The grocery store — In which Ben gets his just desserts

As soon as Ben picked up the pie (banana cream with coconut shavings on top), the bottle rocket hit the shelf, causing it to wobble and causing a couple of dessert items to fall down towards him. Ben leaped out of the way of a couple of cupcakes, bent backwards to avoid a line of donuts, then rolled to dodge a falling cinnamon roll. He stopped, sighing in relief, before he was finally splatted right on top of his head with a falling birthday cake, a large number "10" in candles right on top of it. His head popped out of the cake, and he sat there steaming for a moment, the flames on the candles growing larger briefly.

Then he wiped his face of the cake. Out of curiosity he tasted it. "Oh hey, it's chocolate," Ben stated to himself, helping himself to some of the cake before standing up, holding a couple of slices in his hands and ready to toss them once the king came back around.

Plague Knight quickly found himself lost within the aisles of the store, having been turned around from the main action, as evidenced by the distance sound of what was a rocket going off. He knew the interior was never maze-like when he first entered, thus he chalked it up to the strangeness of the day's theme being the cause. He decided to double back when the rocket he heard go off earlier whizzed right above him and explode some distance away. In the brief second it went back, he noticed to was one of those non-glass liter containers of soda that was propelled by some sort of chemical reaction, most likely brought along with a catalyzing agent. More importantly, however, was the passenger the rocket was carrying landed right in front of him.

Mickey Mouse.

Immediately Plague Knight pulled out a pair of bombs in Whirl casings (which took on the shape of five pointed stars) and filled with Sparkler powder. He tossed them both at the mouse simultaneously while crossing his arms, causing the trajectory of both bombs to go in a crossing zigzag pattern towards Mickey.

"ZAPPITYZAPZAPZAAAAAAP!!!" one bomb screamed. "SILENT BUT DEEEEEEED-LEEEEEE!!!" screamed the other.

Of course, the bombs had just as much chance of hitting the incoming Rukus members and possibly Morty as hitting or missing Mickey......

"What the hell?"

Gon was alarmed to see Silenea go all hostile. He was about to take out his sidearm when he saw the librarian do her thing.

"Okay. I don't want to know what the hell happened here."

The assassin saw her trapped inside the bubble.

"Impressive. Now I don't have to worry about her. Have a good day."

Gon went off and left the library, off to see if anything happened outside the building.

"Stop, wai-AH!" Cole flinched at getting sprayed with...whatever was coming out of that flying bottle, standing there for a moment and blinking at the liquid dripping from the edges of his hat, holding out his arms slightly, seeming more bewildered than anything at getting abruptly soaked. "That...all right."

Something tickled in his mind, and he turned around, seeing the Ruckus members coming into the store at the front, brandishing weapons and seeming intent on attack. "Stop!" He positioned himself between them and where the giant mouse had gone, holding his arms out and setting his feet, intent on blocking their way. "You can't hurt him! He isn't doing this on purpose, he's been hollowed inside, he can't help it!"

She tried to creep up close to him without being noticed.

Library

"Hey, hey!" Sadness was panicking again. The other man, the one who had been getting yelled at by Miss Tairee, left along with the jet pack lady, leaving her one of the only people left in the library. She had no idea her powers could backfire so spectacularly like this. This serpent woman was practically more unstable than Sans. In the back of her mind, it occurred to her that it would be totally her fault if anyone was hurt because of this, especially if Miss Tairee let her out of her bubble in this state...she pushed that thought away and ran up to Silanea's prison.

"Hey, calm down!" she urged, pressing her hands against the outside of the bubble. Silanea would be unaffected because it wasn't direct contact, but Sadness needed to get her attention. "That's—that's wrong! Killing is bad and I've met some nice humans here and—and—" Stressed, the emotion started to tear up. Waterfall Tears immediately started gushing from her eyes, probably ruining the effect of the seriousness she was trying to impart.

"My favorite person in the whole world is a human, and I haven't seen her in days," she said miserably. "But I still know she's not a bad person, okay? Maybe...no person is bad at all," Sadness said a bit contemplatively, working not off her own philosophy, but of Joy's. "I know you're mad, but—you're wrong, you've gotta be!"

Intersection Outside the Grocery Store

While Caro and Fried examined the grocery store from the air, Zelda continued examining the place as best she could.

"Well, the problem with everyone being up on the roof is that unless there's a window or something up there then we really don't have a way of telling what's going on inside. And like Garrett said chances are we'll constantly get thrown off and accomplish nothing of value."

She paused for a few more moments, a thought bubble with some ellipses in it appearing over her head. "Maybe some of us could go up to the roof while the rest of us look through the windows. When there's an opportune moment, the people on the ground could signal the people in the air and then they could get inside that way."

She frowned. "Of course, that depends on what an 'opportune moment' would be. We still don't have much of an idea of what's expected of us, just the sort of antics the King's going to pull."

Grimlock; Dino mode

Intersection, right by the Grocery

Grimlock nodded energetically when Zelda asked if he could smash the wall, then smiled and waved at Caro and her...Predacon? No, it was a dragon. But then he stayed silent, mostly because he couldn't add much to it. The ideas they suggested were good and he couldn't think of anything better. Especially considering he had no idea if they could cross the street to the grocery. But he was getting more worried as time passed. He looked up to see what time it was and he really couldn't tell with everything black and grey. He knew it was not best to rush in, but who knows if the mouse got away while they talked?

Then the guy he recognized from yesterday said he wanted to take the slow but safe way to the top. Grimlock decided to make his worries known.

"Could we try to hurry? What if that guy escaped while we were talkin'?" he said with a slight frown.

"Alright, the plan worked!" The pigtailed girl crowed even as she hopped off her impromptu perch to uproot her stop sign once more, eyes darting about the place. "Now then, we just figure out what to... do...?" Trailing off, the girl nocked her head and saw what appeared to be letters and dust clouds popping up in the far distance with her superhuman clarity. "So, you guys wanna try to find out what the fuss is about or do something else? I think we might be able to score brownie points with some of the others if we share the stop sign trick."

Inside the library

Miss Tairee looked at Gon with a frustrated and slightly confused expression as Gon bid his goodbye, and rolled her eyes as he left. Seeing Sadness go to the bubble, she started typing on the typewriter again. Silanea didn't give Sadness a response; she just kept thrashing about, screaming and trying to shoot off magic fruitlessly. Miss Tairee came over and held out a new note to Sadness.

I'm pretty sure she can't hear you, between the muffling and the screaming.

"What did you do?" the left head of the two headed ogre asked towards Sadness. "She didn't want to just kill humans before, only defend ourselves from them; what gives?" the right head then asked.

Grocery store

When Rex's tentacle was inches away from Mickey, acoke bottle propulsed like a rocket came out of nowhere and the mouse used it to escape. An anvil randomly fell on Rex's tentacle which caused it to start talking with a female voice.

"Ouch, that hurt"

"Great... What should we do to 'help' him, Cole?"

Five armed guys opened the front doors of the grocery store. They all had the symbol Tairee had described and Rex had seen on the kids that had interrupted the anti-human rally.

One of them spotted Mickey and told everyone to go after him. Rex, Plague Knight, Cole and Shaira (plus her poot cat) had just done that and hadn't gotten anywhere and he sure as hell wasn't going to let their only way of communicating with their homeworlds on the hands of a bunch of thugs that liked destroying things. Cole needed a chance to talk to the mouse and solve things, after all, he was as much of a victim as they were and he hadn't tried to kill anyone. That automatically put him over Silanea in the list of antagonists in the city.

Rex swiped the tentacle at the group's feet trying to make them trip and stop chasing Mickey.

"Go play therapist, Cole. These guys are mine"

"If you don't mind the correction, these are actually mine"

Inside the grocery store, in which things get even farther complicated

Seeing the bombs coming towards him, Mickey acted quickly and leapt to another shelf and then down into that aisle to avoid the bombs, sending said bombs in the direction of Morty and Twilight Sparkle. Grabbing a couple things off of shelves as he ran towards where Sans was, Mickey happened to pass within view of Nightwitch and Ben. Mickey stopped a little bit away from Sans, eyeing him suspiciously.

Meanwhile back near the front of the store, the four lower rank members of Ruckus coming in moved to just go around Cole and ignore him, but got tripped and landed in a dogpile by Rex's tentacle. "Hey what gives? We gotta go after that mouse!" one woman asked Rex indignantly as she literally peeled herself away from her comrades.

The leader of the group however had not been tripped, as he had stopped short before Cole, grabbing at his head and cringing like he had a headache. Stepping back and opening his eyes again, he looked at Cole and lowered his eyebrows. "Fucking son of a bitch!" the guy yelled, aimed a shotgun at Cole's head, and fired; much to the apparent surprise of even the other Ruckus members.

Over by Sans, Mickey jumped, startled as the shot went off, and ended up momentarily gripping onto a ceiling lamp.

Cole had taken a step back when the Ruckus members advanced, not sure how to stay in front of all of them, but then Rex lashed out to trip them up.

Even as they advanced, their proximity let Cole delve into their minds, searching for any kind of weakness to try and stop them peacefully, or coax them to leave. It wasn't anything extraordinary, really. Fear of this unknown city, fear of being alone, a boredom and desire for entertainment. One of them, for just an instant, he brought up a faint early memory of a bomb tossed...the strange man in the birdlike mask, he had thrown it...but really nothing Cole could use.

But the man who seemed to be their leader...

Cole shifted his attention to that man. "You're...right, but...wrong, like me but not...like..." He froze suddenly, eyes widening a little when the man staggered, seemingly from Cole's reading of him. "No, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to hurt you!" Then there was something in his own mind, like a physical push inside his brain, and he gasped in what sounded like pain of his own, shaking out his head. "No, wait, I just want to h-!"

Before he had enough time to process that the metal tube raising towards him might be something to avoid, the shot was fired, with what might have been an excessive spray of buckshot going straight through his head.

Though he stayed standing upright, one hand half-raised as though to try and reach out to the man in front of him, any others near would be able to see his large hat remained suspended in the air for a second, above nothing, as though it hadn't gotten the memo that the head it had rested on no longer existed. It was a couple seconds later that it finally fell with an audible plop, and Cole's body slumped down as well before vanishing from sight with a sound almost like a plink on a piano.

Cole, himself, found himself waking up lying on the grass, gasping softly as he stared at the monochromatic sky above him. He...had been fighting to protect the mouse, hadn't he? And then...

He sat up, looking around a moment, reaching up to touch his face...then winced, curling up with his knees to his chest, lowering his head slightly to hide under his hat, starting to rock himself slightly. The buzz of the surrounding sentient items was back full force, but for a change, Cole just let the sounds and sensations roll through him, burying himself beneath the static. The noise was better than anything else in his mind at the moment.

Gunshot.

That was what he heard.

That was it. They were wasting time and someone was gonna get seriously hurt. To Kaon with whatever cartoon physics can do, someone was gonna get seriously hurt at this rate and cartoon physics never meant nobody couldn't die. He gave a frustrated growl.

"That's it!" he said. Then he looked to the others. "I'm going! Before anyone gets hurt for real!"

And then he charged right at the grocery. Caring little for going through the entrance, he smashed right beside it and entered the grocery. He scanned the area and eventually laid his eyes on who he quickly recognized as Rex and a few humans. One in particular holding a gun.

Eyes narrowed and teeth in a snarl, he said, "What happened?"

Though the intimidating effect was diminished somewhat with his drone voice.

"...But considering what happens when you do something so mundane as crossing the street, I don't think whoever is keeping us here is gonna let us hol up in a building." He tried to look in the same direction as Ranma did, but though he could see finer details than most men he wasn't the most farsighted. Probably why he had a pistol and not a rifle. Garrett argued against her idea of building a bridge, saying that something that unstable would only get them hurt. So it seemed that would have to take the slow but sure path of riding Fried up to the roof.

Zelda suggested that only a few of them should go up there, with the others staying to the ground to watch what was going inside the store so that they could warn the others up there when was the best time to enter through the roof.

Then a gunshot was heard and Grimlock immediately rushed to the other side of the intersection. She hoped that a book car wouldn't hit him, because at this point, there probably wasn't much they could do by one coame running for him.

Caro then once mounted on Fried and turned of face the others, saying, " Right, we need to get going as well. Whatever we are going to stay on the ground or go up to the roof, the safest way to cross this crazy street is by going over it, so we will still need to make to trip. So I take someone with me now and then Fried will come back for the others. After we all have gotten across, two of us will go up there. How does that sound?"

Grocery Store — That ended poorly

The whip worked perfectly and tripped four of the five Ruckus. One fo them, a woman, wondered why Rex wasn't letting them get to the mouse. Rex thought he at least owed them an explanation.

"He's our only opportunity of calling our homeworlds and I'm not gonna let you guys blow it because you like screwing things up"

Meanwhile, the goup's leader got near Cole and insulted him for apparently trying to read his mind. And then he actually shoot him on the face with his gun.

Rex was shcoked. He only saw the Ruckus as a threat because they could make Marcus and Silanea fight again but they were only a bunch of anarchist thugs. Now that their leader (or at least this group's) had killed Cole, he realized a group without a moral code could be as dangerous as Marcus.

"You just made a big mistake, fella. I don't think the BFS is gonna be as merciful as me. Good luck". There was certain pity in tentacle's words, as if she was afraid of Rex might do to the Ruckus.

Surely enough, the tentacle collapsed and now Rex sported a giant sword and activated the buzzsaw on its end. He wasn't going to hold back. He swung the sword with all his strength towards the Ruckus leader trying to cut him in two.

Elsewhere

The robotic girl known as Aigis was currently sitting the makeshift lab/room that she often stayed in to "Sleep", or in her case, recharge and rearm her weapons while her other, more fleshy allies slept. A ding signaled that the time had come for her to get up and resume normal operations. She rose from her chair, quickly running basic diagnostics to ensure normal functions were online. Confirming there were no problems, she began making her way for the door. Before she reached it, however, time froze in front of her. Her processors quickly sped up as she attempted to figure out the cause of this sudden stop, considering that perhaps her locomotive systems has locked up for an unknown reason. Before she could think more on this, her world turned to darkness.

City Exterior Balcony

The robotic girl reappeared on the balcony. While most might have panicked at this sudden turn of events, Aigis remained calm and logical as her head turned in a 360 degree arc to take in her surroundings. She appeared to be in a city unfamiliar to her databanks. a city that, from what she could see, was floating over....something. What, she could not tell. Also, it appeared whatever had just happened had somehow damaged her optics, as her vision was now stuck in black and white. A most unusual error. She ran an internal diagnostic, and was confused to find she could identify no problems. Unnoticed to her, a large question mark appeared, hovering over her head as she considered this.

"Strange." She observed to herself. Then she looked down, and suddenly noticed her mechanical parts were completely exposed. Mitsuru had spend quite a bit of time grinding into her the importance of "Classified Information" and had made it very very clear that Bad Things would happen if the public at large learned of the existence of robots such as herself. Thus, she always maintained clothing outside of select locations that hid her more obvious mechanical bits. Now, however, whatever had caused her to appear here had left her without that in a public area.

Quickly she decided on the most optimal course of action, and started walking quickly, but not running and drawing further attention to herself, into the city. During her observations, she had noticed something most strange about the city, the fact that the buildings seemed to change form each time she looked away from them. While the black and white vision she could write off as an error, this was harder for her to explain outside of significant CPU errors that would signal much deeper internal problems and likely be impairing her thought possesses, which were clearly running at full power. However, she had noted one large building that appeared to be remaining consistent among the changing city. Deciding to head there first, she started walking as she glanced back and forth every once in a while, looking for a chance to obtain some form of long sleeved clothing and pants. She could only hope no one would stop her and notice her robotic nature until then.

Mary - Not Having Fun

Mary tried to entertain herself throughout most of the day, in all the ways she could possibly think of.

First she tried drawing. The crayons talked and distracted her, and even went as far as to lie to her constantly. One actually claimed to be of a certain color five times, each time with a different color. Nevertheless, all crayons were gray, and so were the drawings they made. Gray and, therefore, ugly.

Then she tried reading. She scouted each and every single floor for books to read, from the second to the fifth, but her luck was no better. She barely understood about half the words she read in the books she happened to pick (or in some cases even less). Almost none of them had any pictures and the ones that did were still very hard to understand. Not to mention gray and, therefore, ugly.

It had been a bad day, and it showed no signs of improving any time soon.

Her return to the library's lobby could have been described with a plethora of adjectives, but "discrete" was certainly not one of them. Her feet hit the steps of the stairway with force, followed closely by the sound of her bag, now being dragged from the handle rather than carried, thumping repeatedly as the girl descended towards the first floor.

The bubble holding Silanea distracted her from her annoyance just long enough for her to approach and stare at it silently for a couple of seconds. The prisoner seemed to be very angry about something, although what it could be was not perfectly clear. But after realizing that staring at an angry snake person in a bubble wasn't particularly fun, she simply turned and continued walking towards the exit, willing to try her luck outside. She didn't even shoot a glance towards anyone in the library.

Mary needed to have fun. And when Mary needed something, she was used to getting it no matter what.
