The librarian is smarter than you think Bill, in the library

Miss Tairee glanced at Bill, that incredulous expression returning. "I don't hate my boss; I just get frustrated with his decisions sometimes, especially his timing jokes. Besides, I know better than to go against his desires, and I can also plainly tell when someone is trying to manipulate me, sir" Miss Tairee said, typing a few lines into her laptop. "And anyway, no, you can't. If you could overpower my boss, you wouldn't be here" she pointed out, looking back at Bill.

"Now unless there's something I can help you with, please leave me alone" Miss Tairee told him.

Anti-human rally — 2nd Timed Mission

Mark had finally seen the error of his ways but now he said he wanted the Ultramarine gone from the anti-human banners. Plague Knight suggested immmediately looking for the serpent-girl.

"You bet!"

If Rex wanted to find the group, he would need to fly to not lose so much time with the city constantly shifting. So, he manifested his mechanical wings and offered a hand to Plague Knight.

"Come on, PK! We're gonna stop a war!"

If PK decided to join Rex, he would take off in the direction the serpent-girl and her followers had left.

Outside the Library - this guy doesn't disappoint

"its really simple. everything that could hurt you just doesnt." Sans shrugged as he began his explanation. "there was someone pounding at a wall in frustation earlier, but when i asked if their hand was ok they said it didnt do anything and he didnt feel any pain and later i did an experiment by throwing a rock at him and when it hit him it just bounced off like it was made of paper or something. reality is bending itself to make this the best controlled environment for us to be in." he further explained, making a brief pause "i guess whoever placed us here must have realized that letting a bunch of kids go around doing whatever they wanted would be a minor issue" he concluded.

He then looked at the ground, noticing the brochure lying there. It must've had dropped from Sadness' hands during the whole thing, so he picked it up and looked at Ringabel "since you're completely lost, you might as well just read this," he said as he handed the crumpled brochure to him, at least it was still readable, "by the way, ages are reversed today, kids became adults and vice-versa for the most part. might be too soon for you to be hitting on every girl you come across, you might just be flirting with a little kid." he advised, the grin in his face now taking a more mocking turn as he gave a shrug "unless you're into that, but hey, who am I to judge?"

The danger of a sinister shape had passed, and Koishi untensed herself. Surprisingly, things like that were apparently very gullible, and extremely easy to trick. Koishi put it down into memory that any future combat with triangles could be solved with mere misdirection.

She snapped out of memorization, realizing that there were two people she owed her life to. In fact, she realized that she had been owing her life to a lot of people in the last day. Hopefully that wouldn't be the case in the future. She gave another pat to the head of Grimlock, and then did a quick bow to Lune. "Thank you," she said, her volume a little low because of the Little Triangle still being in proximity. "I'm glad that you picked up on that quick. But, anyway, I am glad to see you're fine!"

"Do not abbreviate my name," Plague Knight said to Rex as he climbed on the adult's back. Once in flight, the knight looked towards the ground, scanning for any large gatherings of non-humans. "What race is the leader of this group?" he asked Rex. "I was not really paying attention when I arrived at the scene."

Flying over the city

"She was half-human, half-snake, and not that friendly"

While flying, Rex had time to review what had just happened. He and Ben had a hard time convincing the snake so he didn't think he and Plague Knight would fare much better. He had try anyway but he couldn't help but think maybe they needed help from someone that was both clearly not human and incredibly persuasive. He couldn't think of anyone.

Trying to stop thinking about it, Rex remembered that a flying 2D piramid had appeared short before the Ruckus members ruined the rally.

"Hey, do you have any idea what's up with the flying Dorito? I thought I had seen everything but that thing just creeps me out"

Inside the Library

"You have my word as a martial artist on that matter. If I ever come across innocent people in trouble, I'll do my best to protect them." All joviality and joking was gone as the woman became utterly serious with a steady look in her gaze, since such a thing had to be taken as such. For all her faults, Ranma Saotome was an idealistic person who wanted the best for the common folk and often went out of her way to protect the bullied. No way was she willing to turn a blind eye to such a situation. That and it'll help the nice lady not stress out as much if she managed to keep the violence down to a minimum. Glancing at the various manuals, Ranma pointed to the military martial arts books since the others were things suited for beginners. That and she was a bit interested in the no-nonsense practical and pragmatic ways of fighting that soldiers used. "Can I check out the CQC stuff? Everyhing else I already dabbled in."

Outside Library

Sans didn't fool Sadness. Not for a second. But it was too late - before Sadness could speak up again, the girls Caro and Zelda had given him some quick comfort, and the skeleton seemed to have moved on.

He was not okay - definitely not, especially once he mentioned that he couldn't remember the last time he'd cried. She hadn't yet met someone like that; well, technically Riley hadn't met someone who Sadness hadn't observed couldn't remember the last time they cried. From what she could tell, anyways. Whatever.

So it was with a more unhealthy gloom than usual that she got up, gave Sans another stare, and walked the three steps back over to Mary and sat down again. The gloom was mixed with anger that she couldn't help Sans (she knew better than to pressure him here) and that he was so, so clearly not okay and that no one would bring it up and no one would listen to her, just like her life back home for eleven years straight. The world would be so much less complicated if humans had sad powers. Did they hear that pun? "Tearible?"''' Come on!

She knew it was irrational, but she couldn't help but sit there sullenly and give the newcomer with the fluffy blond hair a slight glare, which didn't improve when something was spoken along the lines of "young girls" and "flirting with."

Outside the library — Oh dear.

As Ringabel listened to the skeleton's explanation, his smile slowly faded, replaced by a look of serious consideration, and he folded his arms, giving another glance around at the mysterious city. So his gut feeling earlier was correct — there was magic at work here, powerful stuff that could alter reality as he knew it. And that same magic had forcefully ripped him from his home and deposited him in this amorphous mess of streets and confused people, separating him from the friends who most required his attention right now. "I see, I see," Ringabel muttered, not truly meant as a response, but more to reaffirm that he was still here; that this still wasn't a dream. Then, the talking skeleton extended a crumpled piece of paper to him — a brochure of sorts, it appeared, an advertisement for this twisted edifice to wizardly achievement. Ringabel took it with an affirmative grunt, putting it into his pack. He would read it as soon as he got a chance to rest.

And then the skeleton continued explaining.

Ringabel's face paled, and he slowly looked over at the two young women that he had been eyeing this entire time, and paled some more. "I—Well. That, ah. Of course. Right." He coughed into his hand, looking away. His face twisted in thought for a moment, and then he looked back to the others, looking like his cheerful self once again, with a grin splitting his face from ear-to-ear. "Well, if that is the case, then, my — so much potential on display! Young ladies, your future suitors — for it shall not be I, I'll long be an old and crusty man by that point — will be extremely lucky men. Or women. Whatever it is you're into," he added with a nonchalant shrug. Then, more hesitantly: "I...suppose that means I am not quite the monument to manly charms that I would like to be at present, hm? Most unfortunate."

Indeed, Ringabel at this moment would not be quite as mature-looking as his fully grown self, but he still didn't look half-bad; there were just more facial blemishes dotting his face than usual, and his hair looked a bit out of place (since a younger Ringabel wouldn't know how to style it correctly, after all). He also looked a little on the skinny side, and not in a good way; he almost appeared to be someone coming out of a battle with starvation, only having recently made it to the other side of death.

Lune nodded in agreement with Ranma. “Yeah. You can say that again, Ranma.” Then again, kids tend to have short attention spans even when their age has changed. Ranma asked Ms Tairee to surprise her with something interesting. Ranma even asked her if Ms. Tairee needed any favors done for her.

Boy, was Ms. Tairee feeling mouthy today. She wanted the children to be out of harm’s way. She also mentioned that she could do more than poof pizzas into existence and search for books. If that were the case, there could definitely find a way for Ms. Tairee to give Lune her Dullahan form permanently. In an amazing display, Ms. Tairee caused various martial arts books to fly off the shelves and land in a set of neat piles.

Ranma promised that she would keep the children for Ms. Tairee. It seemed she was interested in the military martial arts books. According to Sun Tzu, “Attack is the secret of defense; defense is the planning of an attack.” By learning a new martial arts style, Lune theorized that Ranma could be learning new methods of attacking and defending.

The tortilla chip attempted to offer a deal to Ms. Tairee on protecting the children who live here. Fortunately, Ms. Tairee refused the deal because she knew the tortilla chip was trying to trick her into accepting. Despite hating her boss’s decisions at times, Ms. Tairee doesn’t personally hate his guts. She told the tortilla chip to take a hike.

Lune whispered back, “You’re welcome, Koishi. I’m tougher than I look, ya know.” She hoped that was quiet enough for the library. After all, no loud noises are allowed in here.

HK nodded to Rick's response, if the droid could smile, it certainly would right now.

"Statement: By the time this effect is over on us, you shall certainly not be disappointed in my abilities, and will be glad to have me at your disposal..."

A pause.

"Master."

Flying over the city

Plague Knight didn't know what Doritos where. Obviously his world didn't have them which made Rex remember that most people in the city didn't come from a place even remotely similar to his homeworld. He tried to distract himself from the several weeks of being stuck in a strange city that awaited him.

"It's just food. I'm talking about the flying pyramid with an eye. It didn't seem like he should able to exist but he somehow does. This city is making my head hurt"

The city streets

XLR8 frowned, shrugging a little bit. "Well, I wouldn't know where we could be defensible, and I don't know if I agree with the whole weapons thing... but if you want I can do recruiting. I dunno, maybe." His attention was drawn to the same flower shop, and he followed the boy with the turban. "One of my aliens is a plant thing. Maybe he can grow flowers? I don't know, I never tried it, but it'd be worth a shot and they've gotta be pretty unique." He thought for a moment, then smiled and grabbed a couple of nice-looking white tulips in a pot. "I've got a friend that I think'll like these."

"You can take as many books as you like for as long as you like" Miss Tairee answered Ranma simply, giving the he-she a nod. "This place can make more copies from literally nothing, so it's not like there could be any issue" she explained with a slight shrug.

Somewhere in the city streets and above them

Being able to see more of the city at once helped a bit with covering ground, so to speak, but could still only do so much. It was still a lot better than searching on the ground, and after a minute or so, Rex and Plague Knight would see the naga girl and a few other young non-humans just entering some sort of office complex; the crossed out Ultramar symbol was painted on the wall next to the front door.

As it so happened, it was just down the street from where Ben was. The boy in the red coat crossed his arms at XLR8's comment about weapons. "Don't be naive; did you think that everyone can just transform into different aliens? If people like me are going to be enforcing a peace, we need weapons to back up our authority" the boy told XLR8, shaking his head as the alien left to the flower shop.

Inside, the Indian boy cleared his throat. "So are you just going to take from this place that I've been making my residence, or are you planning to trade?" the Indian boy asked after XLR8 grabbed the tulips, "perhaps a police force in this city is necessary after all."

I, Rick-Bot

"Nice." Rick leaned back, grinning more than a little cockily at this revelation note . "I mean, this guy's the real deal, Morty. Beats a stupid puppet... thing... any day, huh? As long as this guy doesn't, you know, sing stupid songs and stuff, we'll be fine."

"Huh, yeah, Rick... w-whatever you say." Morty stared at the bronze droid skeptically. It looked more or less like one of Rick's better-put-together inventions from back home; for the past few days his grandfather had mostly been scavenging things together out of garbage and random scraps. Morty cocked his head and stared at the little robot. "I, uh, I, y-you said something about a galaxy or something? A-are you like, built by aliens... from an alien civilization or something?"

"What difference does it matter, huh?" muttered Rick. "I mean, what, you saying aliens c-can't put together a decent robot every now and then, Morty? 'S not cool. Not cool."

Mary - In Which Ringabel Ends Forever Alone

"So that's why there are so many kids around..." Mary pondered, patting Sadness' head while she adressed the mildly disappointed Ringabel. "Sorry to disappoint you, okay? Thanks for the compliments, though! I'm actually really glad I get to be this tall!"

However, a small thought popped in the back of her head while she patted the small blue emotion. She'd been turned into an adult thanks to the magic of the city... but just for one day. The following day, she'd go back to being a kid as if the aging had never happened.

"But I guess it'll all go back the way it was tomorrow," she muttered. "That's too bad..."

It was now her turn to be disappointed.

He took a blueprint of a Czerka's Corporation HK-24 model, and then installed more advanced modifications and enhancements while creating me. I am a top of the line assassination droid...and more refined than the inferior HK-50's wannabe."

HK then looked over at Rick's tools.

The flower shop

XLR8 winced a little, frowning and putting the flowers back. "Gee, I'm sorry. I didn't know this was your flower shop," he told the man. "It's just that... most places just have stuff laying around, and no one uses money and.... well... I don't... have anything to trade," he admitted. "Sorry, man." He then looked back at the boy in the coat. "I don't kill people," he told the man. "Heroes don't do that. If we had weapons that didn't kill I'd be fine with it, but if you mean stuff like guns and swords and the like then you can count me out of that."

Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed Rex and Plague Knight approaching a building. XLR8 zoomed up towards them, stopping nearby. "Hey, Rex! Plague Knight!" he greeted. "This is the guy trying to set up that militia that Miss Tairee was talking about," he informed the two of them. He noticed the crossed-out Ultramar symbol on the building, the same symbol that the anti-human rioters were carrying. "Hey, uh, is this the anti-human group's headquarters or something?"

Anti-human group HQ

Rex spotted the snake-girl and some of her followers entering a building with the symbol of the anti-human group painted on near the front door.

"There's our snake"

As Rex landed, a blue and black lizard called him and Plague Knight. It was Ben, he remembered having seen the alien on his first day on the city. The kid told them that the leader of the police force was with him. He also asked them if the building with the crossed out symbol was of the anti-human group.

"Pretty much. Look, it's great that you're trying to help set up a police force but Plague Knight and I are racing against the clock to save the city. We basically have to convince Snake-girl and co that if they stop using Mark's symbol he won't attack any innocent non-humans"

Ben was now turned into something the group inside the building had probably never seen before, what if they used that to their advantage? Unfortunately, Ben's would turn him back to normal before too long. But maybe that could be avoided.

"Say, is there any way you can keep that form for more than five minutes?"

Outside the anti-human headquarters

Rex explained that they were trying to stop Brother Marcus from going on a rampage and they had to convince the naga girl from before to stop using Marcus' symbol. If they could do that, they could stop a slaughter from going on. XLR8 raised an "eyebrow" and frowned. "I dunno. I haven't been keeping track," he told Rex. "I don't think I've been Hero for any more than like five minutes. I got like 10 more minutes on this baby before the Omnitrix turns me back, I think. What do you have in mind?"

"Oh yes, that pyramid!" Plague Knight said in realization. "Honestly, I did not find anything too strange about it," he admitted. "Though he does look like a symbol I've heard fanatics from a far off land worships, but that's neither here nor there."

Soon, the two of them landed. Convenience, he thought upon meeting with Ben. "I shall go in as well," the knight said. "Apparently my mask is effective enough to cover up my species."

Outside the Library - Please Don't Notice Me Senpai

It looked like the newcomer did have a bit of an ego about him; he seemed to fancy himself a heroic ladies' man of sorts. Yet, Zelda could tell that there was probably more to him than that. Something about his eyes didn't match his smile or his overall demeanor, almost like something was bothering him. Maybe his departure was just as distressful as her own had been.

That didn't make any potential advances from him any more welcome. Now that he'd caught on to the fact that any kids he met today were likely older than they appeared, he'd likely make the connection that she was not supposed to be a child, and was in fact probably the most attractive option here. It certainly felt like it was only a matter of time before he started eyeballing her. She could only hope that he wasn't the bully Groose was.

She decided not to worry about it now, instead choosing to comment on Sans's explanation. "I suppose I should be thankful that I arrived on a day like today. After what happened to me before I got here, I wasn't sure what to expect from the place." She frowned. "Though I don't think it's going to stay this way."

That reminded her of something she could add to what Sans said. "Also, I've been told that the one behind all this is some kind of storyteller god who brought us here for 'inspiration.' Apparently he likes to give each day a 'theme' and then change everything around as suits his desires. In other words, he's not a very good example of what a god should be." She motioned into the library. "One of his employees is staffing this building. She probably knows more about her boss than I would. I haven't been here very long myself."
