TFS' Final Fantasy VII: Machinabridged

Eh, to me, this actually felt slightly less funny than the other two. Still highly amusing, though.

I'm just eagerly looking forward to the next episode.

Cloud crossdressing and the Gold Saucer Date with Tifa, Aerith, Yuffie, or Barrett are the scenes I'm most looking forward to.

This got so much better with Aerith.

Episode 4

This one actually was pretty funny. Their take on Reno is interesting but their take on Aerith is simultaneously unexpected and exactly what I expected.

Cloud remains amusing but him playing only playing the straight man to everyone is a tad dull. Still funny, though.

This was a great episode and I like that Cloud finally has someone who isn't complete shit to him in his life. Team Four Star's video player continues to try and impede my ability to watch videos on the website though.

Am I the only one who has no problems with their web player?

I don't have issues.

My issue comes more from a broken, unfixable Flash not letting me hear anything.

I have never had a problem with it on my Iphone, Firefox or Chrome.

Yep, this episode was great. I like Aerith a lot. I feel like the other Cloud abuse will be funnier now that someone actually treats Cloud nicely.

I have a problem with it sometimes, only because of my shitty internet.

The player seems to need more than Youtube does.

Aerith's mom being a new age hippie was great. I also thought the name fighting between being Aeris and Aerith was Actually Pretty Funny.

It would have been much funnier if they went with Aeris though.

Wow, for once they're writing a female character that isn't a dick.

Was that really the problem people had with the comedy up til this point? Everyone shitting on Cloud? I didn't mind that, I just though the series wasn't good enough to get me to laugh.

So wait, they're doing more jokes than Cloud getting shat on?

Cool, because I'm not a big fan of all the humor coming from one person's expense, unless they really deserve it.

Taka and Lani joked in their Destiny Stream that the reception got better because they finally introduced a nice character.

So I just watched the first 3 episodes. Gotta say, a lot of memorable lines...

"Your metal d*** is mine, mother******!"

Oh Tifa, I love all your lines...

They are just making Aerith's inevitable death all the more painful.

Episode 4 is a little better but I'm still not convinced in giving this series my full attention. I think I'll leave it and this thread behind.

So. Aerith was already creeping me the fuck out even before the titles hit. Yeesh. I'm fairly certain she and her mom are plotting to control the world with flowers or something.

Meanwhile, Zack is still kickass. I hope he shows up more often. :D

...that's about all I have to say, really. This episode seemed a bit more boring than the others. I hope the next episode turns out better.

I really liked the first three episodes, but Aeris as the ditzy, naive goodie-two-shoes is blegh. The interesting part of the canon character was the fact that she wasn't a ditzy, naive goodie-two-shoes, despite being set up as the Plucky Girl with Incorruptible Pure Pureness. I mean, within an hour of her showing up, she's threatening to rip off a mafia don's balls. Literally. Not exactly a sweet, shy, naive little girl. Turning her into one for the abridged version... meh.

To be fair, I'm pretty sure part of what Aerith is doing is an act going by the way she delivered those last few lines once Tifa appeared.

I don't think she was acting, I think she's just simple. She wears her heart on her sleeve. Says what she feels when she feels it. It's also pretty well established that she has zero regard for authority given that while she and her mom seem to have no ill will towards the Turks, Aerith keeps violating the rules and doing what she wants to do instead.

And Tifa's meant to be the calm Team Mom yet she's a psychopathic bitch who threatens to shove her fist shoulder deep up Cloud's ass and has abused his friendship since they were 12. We'll just have to see in time where their character arcs go.
