I think the series might end with someone standing up to Ainz that's implied to be The Hero that will truly end him in general LN isekai fashion, but probably won't actually show it.
Wasn't even thinking of the lizardmen when I mentioned the slaves. I was more thinking of the undead, the frost giants, the frost dragons and the quagoa.
Also, the only reason the Lizard people are relatively okay with being slaves is because they already had a culture that was based on Asskicking Equals Authority. And Ainz is a Physical God.

Disgusted, but not surprisedI am SO looking forward to Tanya meeting Ainz.
So apparently there was recently released a full length What-If side story based on the one the author put on Twitter where Ainz ended up in the New World two hundred years early with the Guild Staff because he walked out of Nazarick before the shut down.
A brief summary about the biggest bits from it and the ending:
Ainz befriends Evileye and forms a band of good friends, being generally happy in the world.
He ends up fighting the Rainbow Dragon Lord who is level 95 as the "final boss" of the story and his strongest attack is compared to Longinus but the Staff is able to counter it like WCIs do to each other.

Well, if you shove there a bunch of extremely overpowered, bordering on completely invincible, assholes, who are hypocrites and genocidal monsters, it will always suck for everyone else involved.

So, do you finally get why people like the show now? Or are you going to do more belly aching over that?
That wasn't for you, but I guess it fits all the same.
Then it's kinda weird thing to ask me, considering that i stopped posting on this thread for a long time. I read Light Novel and didn't get all popularity, that's it. I dropped it.

That's good then.
It's not like that's really anything new. We know a lot of counties were wiped out over the years with few having a history going past a few hundred years. Just the tiny bit translated even now has Evileyes country seemingly wiped out by a necromantic ritual which made her a vampire and exterminated her human subspecies, the Rainbow Eyed People.
The world seems to be pretty fucked regardless of Ainz tbh. For humans, anyway, who were on the brink of extinction until players showed up and brought them a brief golden age before vanishing, putting humans back on the decline.
People like villains, that’s the reason for its popularity.
There, simple AF.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I like a good Villain Protagonist as well, but only if he/she is well-written, like Kratos, Lucy, Marnie Bannister or the Black Lagoon company.
Ainz and his fellow Villain Sues just flat out aren't interesting to me, and the extreme crapsackiness of the world makes me not care who will win - things will suck anyway.
That’s pretty much most settings in Villain Protagonist stories.
If we have to root for the bad guy then the wolds already fucked from the get go.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Im not surprised, they already hinted this is what happens when they dont have a god controlling them.
I do think Overlord is still in an Golden Age of Humanity despite the decline, because all the beings shaking the world are human or made by humans.
It turns out Humans Are the Real Monsters who make the literal babyeating monsters!
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession. One kingdom is about to get eaten by a bunch of beast people. It gives the impression that humanity is going to be pushed back into a corner soon when we hear about that kind of thing.
The translation for the Evileye What If? story finished.
There's still the afterword bits...?
Maruyama reminding us that Overlord is ending at around Volume 18, and griping about piracy.
Something about it being the author of Overlord in particular just makes me go 'bwaaaah, poor baby.' None of the foreign readers would have ever even heard of your shitty pulp novel without fan translations. Even the anime fans typically don't read the light novels after watching it.
So what would you consider the ENDGAME of Overlord?
Ainz finally runs into another player character
or Ainz finally finally realizes his NP Cs can are adapting around their programming and to secure his utopia... They got to go
And the entire reason they are under Cocytus is because Cocytus actually argued on their behalf, claiming it'd be better to spare and conscript them as opposed to the original plan to slaughter them and raise them as undead. Ainz was pleased by Cocytus' initiative and agreed to the request.
Cocytus isn't the least shitty person in Nazarick by any means, but he is the least shitty Floor Guardian. He's something of a Noble Demon.
