While I agree that the scale of the picture fails to capture the whole Dimension Lord shtick, Dormammu himself is a very good example.
Relatedly, I believe that the image's context is relevant to the topic. It is taken from a series (Defenders volume 3) where Dormammu had assimilated Eternity, and made both himself & Umar the rulers of earth's entire dimension (retitled the Dormammuverse for the occasion).
On that basis, I suggest to keep the picture as-is.
An image should work on its own, so outside context is meaningless for anyone who's not familiar with it.
That said, I'm kind of unsure about the suggestions.
Check out my fanfiction!JAFAAC
If the guy's supposed to be above Galactic Conqueror, one planet is nothing. Speaking of, Galactic Conqueror's pic is JAFAAC, too.
But I suppose it's difficult to picture "ruling a universe." All we usually see of such domains is a Planetville or three.
They not might be the best images out there, but they're certainly not Just a Face and a Caption. They're not even Pretty Much JAFAAC. Symbolism is a thing that exists.
Check out my fanfiction!Yeah, that's not what JAFAAC means.
Clock is set.
How about Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann's Anti-spiral hivemind◊ or their Granzeboma◊ throwing Galaxies◊ ?
This doesn't seem to be going anywhere. Can we just crowner it and get done with it?
I'd be cool with Anti-Spiral sticking his head out. The other ones are too cluttered for the uninitiated to figure what's going on.
Not really sure what I'm looking at, there. 9.3 probably comes the closest to capturing the "evil lord" part of the trope and not just "weird-looking Cosmic Entity".
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"UPDATE: I missed that Adept had created a crowner for this one. It's revived and the crowner's hooked.

This one's been up for a week but hasn't seen a lot of votes so I'll bump it for now. Two in the green, one with a lead.

As I was voting, I noticed the Galactus image is broken.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportIs Eternity an example? He doesn't rule the universe, he IS the universe.
Considering how Thanos was able to usurp him and take his power in the Infinity Gauntlet storyline, I think he technically counts as a "ruler", even if the comics don't refer to him as such.
Calling this one; can someone please upload and add the winner? Thanks in advance. Caption or no?
It's up, tagged, and sourced.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"Cool. Maybe "He's got the whole in his hands." for the caption?
^ Did you mean to add "dimension" or "cosmos" in there? That could work.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"What was the "current"? I completely missed it.
Moon◊No, I meant "the whole", as in "everything"...it's kinda clunky, admittedly.
I think it would be better to replace the word world instead of removing it.

Nominations for replacement images:
By its definition, the Dimension Lord is a tier above Galactic Conqueror, so having a picture of Dormammu holding just one earth is underwhelming to say the least (not to mention, the pose/concept is a tad bit too similar to A God Am I), so here's some other suggestions that hopefully represents a ruler over at least one universe better: [1]◊ [2] [3] and either one of these◊.
