Just a warning, but there are a lot of rules here. Believe me when I say that. Please read them before making a post in the main thread.

Location:

Announce the location of your character with header text [Done like this: !!(insert text here)] at least once per page. Describe the location when you start a new scene.

(More clarification: spoilertext is normally regarded as OOC text. To use spoilertext: [[spoiler:(insert text here)]])

Also, if you're interested just in the fights, and don't want any roleplay, feel free to head over to the FG Arena instead. You're welcome to join in around here, though; just be warned that it's not all fighting and battles here, and battles can have long-lasting effects on the characters involved (notably if it's a battle that involves plot-changing results depending on the outcome. For example, even minor battles could end up making a character feel like they're just not good enough, particularly if they fail at the battle horribly). You can inform the others that a battle is non-canon if you don't want any heavy consequences, though.

A note for all those who read this: Bolded and italic texts are important, and headers are even more important. Do not ignore what the bolds, italics, and headers say.

Unlike the original Forum Games Arena, this version has an emphasis on continuity, and thus, the arcs and other continuities of this Arena (plus the Forum Games Arenas) can apply if the player so wishes. Character Development is a major focus here as well. If one is involved in a major plot that involves multiple players, inform the others if you want to retcon/change/remove something, and see their reaction to the whole matter.

Also, there is no need to be instantly involved in the plot or continuity of other players. If you want to start yours, please do so. Other players may also start a Boss Battle if they wish.

Let us begin with the main rules:

Rule 1: Do not act like a dick, do not call other tropers names OOC, and absolutely no personal attacks. Those caught doing so will be asked to stop, and there are no second chances for this offense. Those who do it more than once will be kicked out of the thread.

Rule 2: Play as your avatar. There is no need to ask me if your avatar is okay, unless, of course, they are absurdly powerful, have hit the categories that mean requirement to run it through me beforehand, and/or unkillable. That's where the lines are crossed. If you can't find a proper avatar for your character, then find a good way to describe said character.

Rule 3: Play fair. Unless your character has been established as powerful, do not make them very hard to defeat. And, even then, learn to adjust for the sake of others. No one will enjoy fighting a boss character that can only be defeated by twenty people when there are only three people present. Also, refrain from using attack(s) that can easily affect everyone whether they like it or not, and if you plan to do so, inform the other players beforehand. Boss Battles are (mostly) an exception to the rule, but, even then, players who do not wish to get involved have the right to not be affected.

Rule 4: If you plan to throw a Conflict Ball into the Arena, please do not hurl the Conflict Ball for no reason other than to ruin a moment, and tell the players around beforehand if you are planning to do so with no malintent whatsoever. And to make this absolutely clear, yes, Conflict Balls are allowed, but the player who intends to throw it must ask other players beforehand. The others, in return, must state if they do not wish to fight. The lack of an answer will always be taken as an agreement to fight. Conflict Ball events can be set as canon, non-canon, or semi-canon depending on what the players agree on. And, for any players who wish to not participate in the fight: it's best that you have your characters leave the scene, or at least move farther away/have defensive measures from the fighting going on to observe.

Rule 5: No lolrandom when there's a Boss Fight or any other big event if the player running it has made it clear that they do not want such things involved. By default, lolrandom, Conflict Balls, and other spontaneous actions are allowed. Only, and only when a player outright says that they do not want these to happen in their event/scene/boss/etc are lolrandom and other things prohibited.

Rule 6: There are certain characters that need my okay to be allowed in the Arena, including but not limited to: Those whose powers are more than enough to utterly and irreversibly wreck the setting; Super Weights above SW4; those with sizes over 106.68 metres or 350 feet (exceptions are allowed for Boss Battles, or if the size will only be attained for the purposes of interaction); anything to do with time; anything to do with the very nature of the Arena; anything to do with high-level Reality Warping; and anything to do with the Fourth Wall. Especially the Fourth Wall. Also, actions above Super Weight 3 are not permitted without express consent from the players one is interacting with.

Rule 7: When spawning in a character, please refrain from appearing in another character's private location (e.g their room, house, etc.) unless the character's player has allowed you to do so beforehand.

Rule 8: Whenever you plan a big fight or a dramatic scene (or whatever it is that you want other players to stay out of/join in/involve themselves), please try to inform the other players OOC first.

Rule 9: Be clear when you write actions, attacks, etc. Every detail counts. If an attack is not listed to be capable of Friendly Fire, then it will not be capable of Friendly Fire. If a move is said to be able to pass through a thin wall, then it will not be able to pass through a thick wall. We aren't playing mind games. Be clear when you write an attack or action unless the move deliberately has to be vague.

Rule 10: Please refrain from moment-ruining, and, if you are planning something, ask the players who have a moment or event running first before unleashing hell on them. If they do not agree, then unleash whatever it is you want to unleash to someone else. Note that this rule only applies to those that have explicitly asked to avoid lolrandom and other similar things in whatever it is they have planned. Do I seriously have to make this clear?

These are the subrules, and they still require reading. Do not ignore them.

Combat: Still like the normal Play-by-Post games. One player attacks, the one attacked will determine what the effects of the attack on their character are (and if the hit is successful or not), reverse, and repeat. Do not auto-hit (wording an attack as if it has hit already), do not ghost (dodging practically all attacks headed for you), and never ignore an attack unless you are ninja'd, in which case you must edit in a reaction. If a player does not post for more than an agreed-upon length of time without warning other players of the delay beforehand, just act as if their avatar has vanished into thin air and move on. Also, this may be an RP, but abuse of Plot Armor is not permitted, as respawning is a feature of the Arena. No one's going to enjoy someone who doesn't die or at least get hurt in combat. Alliances are allowed, but just because you're friends with a fellow troper doesn't mean that you should never fight his or her avatar.

Regarding gang-ups and posses: the defending player is the last to react. For the aggressors, do not take more than one action unless the defending player has already reacted. Multiple actions are unfair and not sportsmanlike.

Environment/Setting: Despite the continuity, all damaged and/or destroyed parts of the landscape will be reversed after a random period of time or after a huge battle. Also, NPCs are not present in the Arena, although flora and fauna native to the setting are allowed to appear. These will be controlled by the players who made them appear. Places where inactive characters reside are regarded as Safe Zones and cannot be destroyed, although fights within the Safe Zones are allowed. Damaging them is also fine. Completely destroying them, however, is not allowed.

Also, the settings connected to the main area will only be changed after obtaining the consensus of at least four players. This may turn to a vote, and the results may take up to a week to be applied. Each new setting requires a serviceable map. I strongly suggest for newcomers to read the Discussion's original post to be updated.

And, no, this is not a conventional roleplay and probably never will be.

If the plot isn't as convoluted as the one in V4, I might be interested.

It'll mostly lack a plot in the beginning, but grow more complex as more and more characters enter the fray. If the other players back in V4 or V5 join in, they might be able to apply some of the continuity back there to this, since a high majority of my characters who have appeared in the fourth Arena will make a return in both V5 and this spinoff.

For mine, some of them remember everything, but others remember nothing. But there's a reason for that, and there's a way to help them remember. But until then they'll likely go back to how they were before coming to the Arena.

Just in case you want to know, Masc is one of those who will remember everything.
