I don't know what people expect when they see these movies. It's a bunch of robots blasting the fuck out of each other. It's not fucking Shakespeare.
Your momma's so dumb she thinks oral sex means talking dirty.Problem is, international audiences were expecting a movie filled with robots blasting the fuck out of each other, and instead got a convoluted, boring mess of a white guy's standard hero journey with some robots at the side .
Watched this with my family since my brother's a big Transformers fan and followed the movies. I think I actually fell asleep at some points. <<;

Pretty much the issue.
These movies have dreck plotlines with disgusting boring ass humans as the leads.
Transformers are capable of so much more if you make an actual good story starring the robots people came to see & give a genuine Goddamn shit about.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Star Wars is a bunch of people shooting each other with laser guns.
Romeo and Juliet is teenagers acting like the entire world revolves around their childish crush.
I
Titus Andronicus is the President's son marries the leader of ISIS and then a ton of people end up with their hands cut off and eating each other.
So that cliffhanger ending, huh? How'd everyone like that? I'm wondering how they'll follow up on it.
3DS FC: 1719-3694-1541Honestly, I just feel appalled that the so-called Big Twist was something that Prime did at the end of the first season.
Like, what the fuck? Couldn't they use something from the classic Marvel comics?
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...That would prolly require a lot of digging & thereby effort.
They prolly figuered to pull the same Unicron trick Prime did cause they easily heard about it due to it being so recent.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Do the Wreckers count as something that's part of the Marvel comics?
Because they were in DOTM...

Wreckers were known about more recently thanks to IDW, but they were part of the Marvel comics' mythos.
Not like they would care anyway.
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...I feel like Peter Cullen could ask you for your wallet and you'd be too captivated by his voice to say no.

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Also, I really need a Fast and The Furious/Transformers crossover in my life.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!So, basically, they failed miserably with that so-called Myth Arc.
It had to happen, I suppose.
Spelunking through a Halo Ring is something else...I am giggling like a schoolgirl right now cause yeah now all the shit Last Knight was building up to was all for nothing.
Oh well its not like were losing anything of value really. Fingers crossed that the reboot has a better crew working on it.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I mean, that sort of a given, reboot or no reboot, considering how poorly ploted the series has been.
Honestly... much as I bitch about it, I'll be kind of sad to see this franchise go. There was a sort of Bile Fascination going on here. Like how long could these movies go on for? Apparently they were successful enough to warrant a second "Trilogy" and now they aren't. Somebody had to have sat down and realized how garbage these films and their plots were, and how badly they treated Transformers lore.
Like the Resident Evil films I at least was able to get a good laugh out of how terrible each movie was. Without them, what other poorly-adapted blockbusters will I be able to poke fun at every summer?
Also, ending on a cliffhanger always sucks. I didn't see The Last Knight, but how did it end? Lot of plot threads left hanging?

I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Judging by what I've seen on the wiki, yes. Including one about Unicron.
but HOW?The story involved a reveal that a dormant Unicron was the core of the Earth (similar to Transformers: Prime) and the Big Bad Quintessa intended to restore Cybertron via a power drain from Unicron, which would destroy the Earth. They stop the power drain but the movie ends with a partially rebuilt Cybertron still attached to Earth. The Sequel Hook has Quintessa taking a human form and telling some scientists studying one of Unicrons spears not to poke around too much, but she can show them how to kill him.
I think it was inevitable, the films made obscene amounts of money but were never hits with critics and even the fans were very divided on their quality. AOE and TLK were progressively bleeding money, even though Michael Bay did his usual work keeping them under budget. I honestly found a lot of good material in all of the previous films despite their flaws, but there was so little I could appreciate in The Last Knight that it lost my interest.
The intention was that they developed a writers room where they could build up the overall mythology and allow multiple movies to work together as a Shared Universe. What was rumored to happen was that they took two scripts and blended them together to make The Last Knight, and so the movie doesn't even quite understand what its own story is supposed to be, jumping between three different groups of characters with divergent goals (most notably Isabel Moner and Squeaks, who disappear after the first act and just reappear for the climax). All the previous movies essentially rewrote the mythology while accepting the events of the previous films as important milestones, but this film felt like it was ignoring what previously happened beyond the most superficial references.
As the saying goes:
"Good riddance to bad rubbish!"
Also, something that's been on my mind. I recall reading about Michael Bay frequently being a pain in the ass during filming.
Why do you guys think he can be such a bully? You think his disdain for Transformers aggravates this attitude?
Bay has always had a reputation for being tough on set, long before the first Transformers. Some of it is a Necessary Evil, given all the stunts and explosions on his sets you can't be too passive. That intensity is also what lets him keep the budget under control. Multiple actors have said working with Bay is a weird experience because he's so aggressive on set but so relaxed and friendly off set. He also extremely loyal, if he likes working with you he will hire you for his next film.
Bay is a stern commander, but the strictness keeps a lot of the films he works on well under budget. So he has that going for him.
Well, I saw it due to it being 99 cents for rent on iTunes. Not as bad as I thought it would be but man was it exhausting to watch. I was bored by the end. I thought it at least looked good even with the aspect ratio changing every 5 seconds.
I hope that Bumblebee movie will at least end this franchise on a coherent note.

You think you're upset that The Last Knight didn't turn out so well?
Try being the guys at Huahua Film, who invested hard money on a lot of Paramount's films, especially The Last Knight.
The monkey wrenches just keep coming...
