Second episode flows a lot better than the first, so it looks like it should be a solid series

I dunno — the SHAFT-style "Photorealistic backgorunds" + "No one else but the speaking cast around" is causing severe dissonance for me. Not helped by the fact that this IS a comedy show about girls interacting with the supernatural.

I liked this episode, it had drama but it wasn't overdone and it made good use of its setting and characters. It was a change of peace from the more comedic previous episodes but it didn't feel like I was watching another series at all.
But man, those ghost chickens were weird as heck.
I'm sure everyone already knows what good friends they are.

Also, food for thought relating to Hibiki and Narumi banging clamshells together:

A Haunted House that's actually scary. Don't see that too often. Hibiki's father isn't a particularly good fit. Quick way to whiten the hair. The shipping is heavy this time. Nice mom. Nice talk between Narumi and Hibiki's dad. Kenta doesn't know when not to joke.

The drama hitting me gives me a severe Mood Whiplash when watching this.
Not that is bad or anything. Just going from laughing to teary eyed to laughing again can be "Wow."
After two episodes I find this to be a really fun, hilarious and adorable show. It's nice change of peace to see a series where ghosts are dealt with by kindess instead of the usual way.
Also yuri is strong in this one.
