Not entirely. A lawsuit could theoretically push for a change in future contracts to correct the problem. Which would probably be the best practice if they're risking a writer's strike.
Lawsuits are costly, and Disney practically has endless cash, you have to ask yourself this,is it worth losing all that money in the slim hope you might make Disney award you credit?
New theme music also a boxWouldn't they have to sue the guild to adjust the rules in this case?
Very likely. Disney has always changed the rules for not only suits, but copyrights, and movie theaters.
Are they having beard contests?
Wake me up at your own risk.Nope. The fake trailers have soiled my trust in what's real pertaining to this film. -_-
A welcome bit of news to those soured on him
The question now is who will replace his role?
New theme music also a boxThe question is more...they want to make MORE?
It’s been seeing diminishing returns for quite a while (the fourth one is the most expensive film of all time).
Peace is the only battle worth waging.Yeah, I mean the trend is clear and you might want to jump off the train before you lose money.
I think the Pot C Franchise is one which should be laid to bad for now and maybe rebooted in two decades or so.
Two decades too short, give it two or three years at most
New theme music also a boxThe question is... WILL they replace him?
Was just thinking of alternate Jack, let's call her Jackie..
New theme music also a boxThe best thing they can do is just write a story about a totally new character.
For the upcoming Lady and the Tramp remake on Disney+, they did a Race Lift. While they are keeping the time period, Darling and by extension Aunt Sarah will be African American with the latter played by Yvette Nicole Brown. Jim Dear is still white.
Now this is not impossible. By 1910, interracial marriage was possible in the New England area and any Mid-West state bordering the Great Lakes (except Indiana for some reason), which was the region I always assumed that the original story took place in anyway. Now what I find interesting is that they did location shooting (with period overlay) in Savannah, Georgia, where a union like this would have been impossible. Then again, Georgia and Louisiana do seem to be the go to locations to film if you don't want to go overseas.
Link please?
The poster looks so dull and uninteresting to me
New theme music also a boxIf you didn't like the poster, here's a trailer.
It's standard practice, to note. Whether they want to or not, studios have to pay or they're violating contract - so lawsuits - not to mention going up against the union and risking another writer's strike on their hands.
The writers of the original Aladdin aren't being compensated because, evidently, animation is from these regulations and thus serves as a loophole (which means a writer wouldn't win a lawsuit, and is thus risking future career for nothing).
