Has Disney ever really had a long runner?

Is Phineas and Ferb the longest running Disney show?

Even if this show gets 4 seasons like P&F, it won't last nearly as long due to the schedule.

Their long runners are their live action shows from what I've gathered

They’ve broken or been willing to break that policy for years, to note. They haven’t been rigidly “this show has 65 episodes, it’s cancelled” in a while.

Like I said, the industry has been moving towards cultivating long runners, and while behind more than others, Disney has been breaking out of their prior mindset gradually as time went on.

Hell, unless this coming season turns out to be a miniseries, Ducktales is set to break Disney’s traditional episode count this season regardless of whether it has another season after this one or not. And Star Vs smashed though it already as well.

I'm pretty sure the only examples are Fenton, and Gosalyn, right? Glomgold doesn't count.

Yeah, but that's just them compositing his comics and animated backstories.

Glomgold's always been South African, though. And this show almost went the other direction and erased that part of his history by making him Scottish, until they retconned him back into being South African.

Don't think the show did either of those.

The show never showed he was Scottish and then retconned it, we only knew he was Scrooge's rival, but nothing showed his "Scottish background" was legit or fake.

He also was Scottish in the original ducktales, so the fake scot thing was a compromise.

Was he? He was always wearing that Scottish hat in the comics, too, I think.

They never elaborated on his backstory in the original Ducktales tho. So no chance of changing that

I think the series dropped hints that Glomgold wasn't Scottish since the very first episode (mainly his whole "he thinks he's so rich, and sooooo Scottish" shpiel).

I think I remember Matt Youngberg heavily hinted that was the case since the beginning too in one of the pre-release interviews.

So will being Latina play into Gosalyn's backstory, or is it just for the sake of representation?

It may play or not, it won't affect anything about the show's quality if it was for representation's sake.

Speaking of representation, is launchpad Jewish in dt17? He was wearing a menorah sweater in last Christmas.
