DOA-verse?
Since it's based off the Team Ninja NG games, perhaps the Ninjaverse?
Hey, I know that people over here are still aggravated that Koei Tecmo is insisting on not having Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 show up in the US, and some are theorizing that KT is using this to their advantage, but when I was watching Yahtzee's review of Hatred, I heard something that sort of impacted me:
"Banny Game Make People Wanty Game More."
That's so what's happening with DOAX 3, right? I mean technically, it's not banned banned since it's still coming in Japan, but it's still roughly the same idea because it's not planned for release in America, right?
The only way to get it in the west is to pay 50$ more an import the region free R3-asia version which is going to be subbed in English.
Honestly in the west it will just be Youtube videos of scenes in the risquest outfits and that's it.

I want another real DOA game. Not some spinoff volleyball game.
One with Mila and Kasumi and Hitomi....
You can't get it wrong if it's the truth!Last Round is still the current DOA game. And since they're adding a new character, I don't see DOA 6 being out anytime soon. (Sadly.)
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!I have it for the 360 already.
You can't get it wrong if it's the truth!Along with the Samurai Costume pack!
Ryu as Yukimura Sanada -RETURNING TO THE BATTLE- Marie as Gracia Kasumi as Oichi -The tragic herione- and Ayane as Nene
but thats not all Naotaro is also bringing with her... The Azuchi Stage castle of the famed Demon King
I'm A Pervert not an Asshole!@ Marq FJA
Yeah. On a different topic, what does Ayane having Marrons glacés as her Trademark Favorite Food say about her? And come to think about it, what is "Aesthetics" as one of her hobby choices supposed to mean? She doesn't seem like the kind of person who'd philosophize on "the nature of art, beauty, and taste, with the creation and appreciation of beauty", engage in "the study of sensory or sensori-emotional values, sometimes called judgments of sentiment and taste", or "critical reflection on art, culture and nature".
One, Hidden Depths, in that, she presumably wishes for a life beyond a kunoichi, and two, irony, due to Hayate and Kasumi being well-adjusted to the world outside the Mugen Tenshin Village
Ayane is doomed to forever be a ball of angst outside the NG games
I'm A Pervert not an Asshole! When I said that I don't find her to be the kind of person who'd be interested in that, I was referring to how she's characterized as pragmatic and rather pessimistic, in addition to her dedication to being the best warrior in her ninja clan. Giving someone like that having an interest in such a thing as Hidden Depths without bothering to give any sort of explanation (even a brief one) strikes me as misuse of the trope itself; it really doesn't fit with her background.
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus. If it helps, she didn't oppose Hayate telling Hitomi that he's a ninja.
Presumably dealing with more insults pertaining to her being Raidou's daighter may have given her reasons to wish for a life outside the village.

I thought that was partly why she threw herself into mastering Mugen Tenshin-ryu (specificaly the Hajinmon branch), alongside looking up to Hayate and wanting his approval. Besides, why "aesthetics"? That is so out of the blue and... well, a rather nonsensical choice IMO. Painting or sculpture would've made more sense, as a form of self-expression.
And more importantly, why the hell would she want a life outside of the village when the older half-brother that she admires so much has not demonstrated real interest in such a life?

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.I'm inclined to agree with you on this. And it's not just Ayane, but a lot of fighting games (as in the very Japanese ones like KOF) seem to give these rather arbitrary quirks in the stats (favorite color, foods, hobbies, etc.) It kind of feels like they're being set up for some high school dating sim that doesn't exist.
Thunder, Thunder, Thunder...Which is hilarious
cause SNK actually has DATING SIMS with their female characters!
Ye SNK gets respect and crap -is slightly bitter as a DOA fan-
I'm A Pervert not an Asshole! The only SNK-made Dating Sim that I know of is Days of Memories, where a few KOF girls show up, and I only know of it because of the images from said game are present in the SNK wiki galleries for said girls. If nothing else, this dating sim does bring us the implied Alternate Character Interpretation of Mai Shiranui as doing actual ninja stuff when people aren't looking (I mean, what else would her wearing a much more "sensible" ninja outfit◊ imply?).
Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Onto something new. Anyone get the feeling the franchise has a problem if a character has a lover, because here are the following:
1. Hayate/Kasumi/Ayane/Hitomi - shipping powder keg ready to explode
2. Gen Fu and Bass - widowers
3. Christie - being The Vamp is unhealthy at beast
4. Helena, Lisa/La Mariposa, Mila, and Tina - too busy with their occupations to pursue romance
5. Lei Fang - crush on Jann Lee, who doesn't seem to know
6. Zack - no luck with getting women
7. Kokoro, Eliot, Rig, and Bayman - not interested at the moment
8. Brad Wong - not exactly a type of guy a woman would pursue
9. Leon - dead girlfriend
Characters introduced from 5 Last Round aren't mentioned since nothing much about them has been revealed so far, and as for Hayabusa, when the series started out, Irene Lew was listed as his wife, then when Yosuke Hayashi took control of this and Ninja Gaiden, he omitted the mention Ryu and Irene are married when the latter was re-introduced into Dimensions.

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.OK, so... Back to DOA.
Seriously, why aren't they doing an Alternate Continuity Dating Sim where, for example, Kasumi and Ayane are seemingly normal pair of sisters who attend high school during the day and do kunoichi stuff at night? And Leifang and Hitomi are neighbours/schoolmates? And Tina is a rising pro-wrestling/movie/rock-music/fashion superstar who for some reason is living in the same town in Japan for the time being? And Helena is an opera singer who, again, just happens to be living in the same town in Japan for the time being? And the protag is a classmate/neighbour of Kasumi and Ayane who has to make many choices regarding which girl/woman he should spend time with?

Fiat iustitia, et pereat mundus.Cause that would make too much sense
Though would they do the eyeless protagonist thing?
I'm surprised Irene hasn't made it into a DOA game as a fighter proper... since that would make the Hayabusa/Kasumi shippers implode
I'm A Pervert not an Asshole!Watching a walkthrough of Dimensions and I have this to ask: During Ayane's failed attempt to attack Raidou before the first DOA Tournament proper, Raidou called her "daughter", and given that he said that within Fame's earshot, how come he wasn't surprised about the fact Raidou and Ayane are father and daughter?
Say, we know that the DOA series and the Ninja Gaiden series exist in the same universe, right? Has anyone ever bothered coming up with a name for this Shared Universe? "Tecmoverse" doesn't seem appropiate, given that there are other games that were developed by Tecmo (which, BTW, is no longer extant; it's been disbanded some time ago, though the brand continues to be used by the parent company Koei Tecmonote ).
