I'll be kinda blunt, I'm all for emulation for archival and history keeping purposes, as well as the fact it lets people play games they otherwise would be impossible to get otherwise, plus thumbing your nose at big corporations is always fun. But Nintendo have made it clear for over a decade that screwing around with emulation is the quickest way to get to the top of their shitlist, so going out and advertising you'll be putting an emulator on the biggest digital game market in the business is just a huge 'What the fuck did you think was gonna happen' move. It feels like some idealistic internet-anarchists forgot How You Would Like The World To Be does not line up with How The World Is.
I might be wrong on this, but I wouldn't be shocked if the reason a decent amount of people emulate Nintendo consoles are ones that will buy the games legally if they were re-released.
Come on Nintendo, just re-release Wario Land: Shake It already.

Help me. I can't get it out of my head.Correct, there have been studies about this, and the people who pirate music are far more likely to pay money to purchase that music than people who don't pirate music. The same holds true for movies and games.
Nintendo either throws games into the Disney Vault to rot or re-releases the same 13 games 30 times.
-Witty line-Hey now; they've only ported, rereleased, and remade Mario Bros.....
...I think 44 times if I counted right just now? I was gonna crack a joke since my gut said it was probably the game that's been ported the most, but huh.
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse Alberia...my only thought is "you can literally download Dolphin without the need for Steam right now". Feels like outrage drama. Or maybe because I'm too old for these things.

Death is a companion. We should cherish Death as we cherish Life.Speaking of which, what is the most ported Nintendo game? Donkey Kong?
Based on online dialogue, a lot of people seem to think that Steam is the operating system's utility for buying and playing games.
Ukrainian Red CrossI would assume Super Mario Bros., but wouldn’t be surprised if it was Donkey Kong, and it would be my guess for second place anyway.
I assume the Common Key is something Dolphin inherently uses, so if the N hates unauthorized emulation so much, why don't they just go after the emulator directly since they have a solid reason this time?

Donkey Kong has a bunch of pre-NES ports, which might push that one over the edge.
Ever wanted to see the most inexplicably horrifying intro to a game ever?Indirectly, the 1983 Mario Bros might be up there too, given how frequently its popped up as a subgame in other titles.
Still waiting for a Legion of Losers movie...I did bring up Mario Bros. on this thread before the question was asked, even. For the sake of comedy I was counting things like Virtual Console re-releases of the Super Mario Advance series in that total, but even then it had a ton of Atari and PC ports back in the day. Combine that with its repeated appearances as a side mode in other games, and the fact that even then it still got standalone rereleases (either through Virtual Console, NSO, or recently the Arcade Archives series) and it gets to a high total and I'd imagine one above the other contenders like Super Mario Bros. or Donkey Kong.
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaWell, shit.
Maybe Hal Labs, seeing how well they did with recent Kriby games, can swoop in and hire a lot of Vanpool staff to work at their main office.
Watch SymphogearJust as a heads up: the 83rd Annual General Meeting of Stockholders is being held on June 23rd. Don't expect anything major there in terms of hardware or software, but there might be shakeups executive wise.
Also, the next earnings release for the first three months of this fiscal year is on August 3rd.

"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."While there is no E3, I wonder if Nintendo will have a Direct during the typical E3 timeframe.
-Witty line-Crossing fingers for that, though the precedents invite us to think otherwise (there was no E3 in 2020 or '22, nor was there a general ND, only a Partner Showcase in one case).
EDIT: Well, also a Sakurai video about Min-Min, but that's too minor to count.

135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300I believe in a June Direct if only because Pikmin 4 is the only non-DLC thing that's currently dated on a first-party front... then again, if they don't have another retail release until Oct/Nov, maybe they could just wait until September and have Twitter drops in the meantime. Hmm.
Found this really-nifty Star Fox 64-style remix of the "Space Battleground" theme from Star Fox Assault.

Anyone else smell smoke?
It's also a three month job with the ability to be hired back in three month chunks.

"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."Man, being able to use Bluetooth earbuds with the 3DS would make playing Tri Force Heroes on my bus way more convenient…
I don't think the 3DS is even capable of Bluetooth.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."
At least for once, that's good to know.
