So, I like watched some of season 1 again....
Why is it that what looks like actual magic is used in the pilot, bu after that it is all weapons and semblances, I would say that is what happened in the pilot too, but Glynda did way too much stuff for that to be a semblance.
Glynda's using dust to augment her semblance, I'm pretty sure Cinder is using fire dust that's sewn into her clothing which is why she glows.
Way too many effects for that, she manipulated the weather, made magic missiles, a shield, even telekinesis....
As for Cinder, I just noticed despite having watched that multiple times those were not Tattoos thanks to you pointing it out.... this kinda makes me disappointed.

We don't know the specifics of her weapon, or her semblance, but honestly if you mixed it right, you could explain most of the stuff with dust. Honestly if her semblance is just telekinesis that can explain most the stuff she did.
Also, uh, don't wanna be pushy but, Sven, Rhyme, you still around? >_>
true.
Or Glynda's semblance is just that powerful.
We have to take into account that Glynda is a master huntress, and we've seen what one year of difference can do. (Cocoa taking on all the big grim that Team RWBY and JNPR both had to take on)
But shouldn't it still have ONE effect, not so many as she displays?
@Fokias: Have to sleep, will try to get a post done tomorrow before class.
...Well, I'll probably be up all night, so I might be able to play while I work on some story/backstory/Dungeons and Dragons stuff.
Hope you weren't expecting anything witty here. Maybe some day.Dust.
Just Dust.
that is honestly the best way to imagine.
We've seen what Blake can do with her semblance when she used dust.
Considering that fact, it would appear that dust can augment some semblances where a use can be found.
If Glynda's semblance is some form of pseudo-magic, then it would be logically that it could be augmented by dust, therefore allowing her to use elemental magic.
But damn that lady must have some huge ass aura reserves if she's using her semblance entirely to fight.

...I always brushed it off as Early-Installment Weirdness. (>__>)
Likewise. Though that riding crop that Glynda uses could possibly have something to do with her attacks as well.
"Never let anyone tell you that something is impossible." - Monty Oum, 1981-2015I was pretty sure that Glynda and Cinder are sorceresses, sorceri, sorce—magic ladies. People who have the talent to freely control Dust without using a machine of some kind.

PM box is Closed, Indefinitely Friend Code: 3368-4181-6850I remember talking with my sister-in-law about final fantasy viii, in which she says she couldn't get into because of the depiction of witches/sorceresses as evil...
