For the record, Blaziken was among the very first things we knew about this game◊, so it's safe to say that it's in until proven otherwise.
Also, seconding Stadium!Raichu as a candidate.

"Tell them to shut up and have some faith in me." - dead flashback guyId rather it not be full of fighting types no matter how much that makes sense. Good variety is kind of a must for me.
But then again..... the moment that Toxicroak is confirmed this game can do no wrong to me.
Louder than God's revolver and twice as shiny.Something to keep in mind, while it probably mostly will be humanoid Pokemon....
This asshole is playable in Tag 2. And Harada is notorious for being a bit of a loony, so expect strange choices.
So, one of my IRL friends who plays fighters (I don't) is guessing that the "focus on the action" = it's gonna play like Street Fighter instead of Tekken, despite the name of the game being a combo off the two because they said they aren't using the Tekken gameplay engine (though I'm guessing they're still using Unreal Engine 4 like they're using for Tekken 7.)
Edit: Also, now that I think of it isn't this the most accurate representation of how a Pokémon battle would happen IRL? Seriously, nobody would bother taking turns to fight like in the game, and the anime style "call out shit, YEAH!" just seems silly.

Man I would hope so! Fighting types are, generally speaking, really boring. There's a bunch of cute ones, but they don't even need to talk to me about ones that emulate real-world fighting styles to the point of being nothing but a human with a paint job.
What would playing like Street Fighter entail? I can't tell standard fighting games apart.

Yeah, and the series has a boxing kangaroo, boxing raptor who stands upright and a bear and a panda. That thing is still humanoid enough in my opinion.
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru!I disagree with your friend - this looks like a slightly simplified, cartoonier Tekken-like system.
A couple of the new characters fans could vote on for Tekken revolution was a praying mantis and a salmon (just a salmon, nothing to indicate it was humanoid), so yeah.
And you can wreck people's shit with selfies in Tag 2.

Yeah, this doesn't seem like SF. From what I saw and from what they said I assume its gonna be combos and blocking.
Like there isn't gonna be a bunch of technical stuff for casuals to learn.
Louder than God's revolver and twice as shiny.Tekken is a lot less fantastical in its style than Street Fighter, is what I think he means. As zany as some of the characters are, you don't really see Supernatural Martial Arts in Tekken aside from maybe Devil and Devil Jin. Pokken seems a lot more "flashy" in that sense.

It'd be cool if the gameplay was more reminiscent of the Budokai Tenkaichi games.
Well Tekken does have Alisa with her Rocket Punches.
And there's one other Supernatural character in Eliza, but she's unlikely to appear outside of Tekken Revolution anyway.
One Strip! One Strip!I don't think Gardevoir would get in, I think Gallade is more likely and hey, the thing needs to have something going for it since it was cheated out of a Mega form.
Namdai has been doing a shitload of collaborations with Nintendo lately, haven't they? First SSB 4, then Mario Kart 8 (and the arcade games before that), and now this... It's like, just kiss already, you two.

They are the big two in terms of software sales in japan....

Watch SymphogearIt would actually be both an efficient use of resources as well as really cool and kind of hilarious if Gardevoir and Gallade were moveset clones of one another despite having entirely different moves. Like you could have Gardevoir elegantly floating about and using her psychic powers and Gallade displaying expert footwork while using his blades. But they both have the exact same hitboxes and stats for everything they do.

There's an image that is advertising a TCG set but it could also give us a clue to the roster!
Mega Lucario, Blaziken and Machamp are in it, but also Dragonite, Hawlucha and Jynx.

To be fair I always pictured Gallade being quite graceful in his attacks, but I dunno, I can't see Gardevoir using many physical attacks, I think it would be better to include just Gallade as he would fit the game a bit better with his many slashing moves.
I think that it may be reasonable to think that Chesnaught, Hawlucha and Pangoro has a fairly good chance at being playable, since they're the fully evolved fighting types of Gen VI, and Gamefreak obviously wants to push the latest Pokemon generation.
Hey! Maybe this game could give Hawlucha's Flying Press an actual use.
Also, we saw Mega Lucario. What's up with that? Is it a super move for him? It can't be a mechanic on every fighter, and I dearly hope they aren't just making Mega-having species overpowered by giving them alone some super form.
I have a message from another time...Why not Slowking? lol

I'm reading this because it's interesting. I think. Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot, over.I'm willing to bet that Mega Evolution is going to be a super move and that other Pokémon that don't have Megas will just have a typical super move instead of a temporary boost. Or Mega Evolution could just be part of cinematic super.
, Knowing Tekken, they might just include it by making Mega Lucario a separate character. But who knows.

@Full Moon: I don't see why Gardevoir would have to use any physical moves at all. According to the Pokedex, she can create black holes. She can use psychic rifts in space-time rather than slashes.
Okay, let's go down that Pokedex from start to finish and pick out some mons.
What I consider likely:

What I REALLY want:
So that's... 49-ish? I'm gonna need a biiig Bingo card.
