Splatoon

This has been absolutely brutal for me. I just hit champion, after a grand total of six wins in 22 matches. Of those, eight games and two wins were on tricolor (none of which I was on defense).

Honestly I should probably just stay out of splatfests until tricolor entirely. I largely enjoy tricolor even when I'm losing.

Day 2! I somehow managed to dethrone my previous record for "worst session" let alone that it's been two consecutive days of this... malarky.

4 wins, 16 losses. One of those wins didn't count because of an enemy disconnect, and one of those losses was a 10x battle.

Nes's saltposting arc is upon us. Pray that tomorrow yields better results for me, lest I look up a list of archaic swear words.

Sure do love when I'm one of the attacking teams and not only do the other attackers not even try for the signal, they actively go after me instead.

yeah, PSA: If you're on the attacking team, infighting will not help you win. You have a common foe with a numbers advantage! You have a powerful item you need to fend off said foe to claim! At least wait until after you've claimed both Ultra Signals

I once saw someone back before the tricolor revamp complain about getting double teamed as the defending team, then when pressed, complain about players playing to win. Sad thing is, I had no reason to believe that wasn’t their actual thought on the matter.

At most, use a Ultra Stamp along with a combo of Triple Inkstrike or Booyah Bomb to deter enemies away.

I am once again begging my teammates to STOP CHOKING IN THE LAST 30 SECONDS this 1:1.3 w/l ratio has got to end

the sad thing is that this is probably the most fun I've had playing Splatoon in a very long time. I don't actually like being a Salmon Run-only player but I really want to avoid "falling off the wagon" so to speak

Tricolor Battles have been super fun on the Triforce map. I don't think my win-loss ratio in Turf War has ever looked better. I just wish my losses on the attacking side weren't 90% a case of the other team making me scream Falco Lombardi quotes at my TV.

I'm gonna be getting out soon and I don't know when I'll be back. In case I don't get back before Splatfest ends, here's my tentative final stats

• Courage Ruler +1 533/999

• Pro: 3264 (I did not play Pro very much and I rarely had a good time when I did)
• Tricolor: 63331

All I can say is, I am never voting for the hero team (or a hero team) ever again. Ever. Period.

Kind of frustrating how I started out doing so well in Splatfests and then I picked the last-place team twice in a row

Thankfully, the final day was a rousing success. Sorta! My win/loss record was ultimately 6-5, but that's above average! Five of those were some early morning Turf Wars, and the rest were Tricolor.

The Tricolor stage this time 'round? Really fun, gotta say. As long as both attackers know to form an Enemy Mine, it's pretty fair and all three sides have a reasonable shot at taking it.

I did like how the defending team all came from one side instead of converging from the edges. Fit the triforce theming

My last two matches saw my team get curbstomped by Power and Courage (that one didn't count thanks to a disconnect), so I hope that isn't a bad omen for us wise ones.

Well, sorry. I guess it only make sense Power would be the strongest without plot armor involved. The Triforce of Courage never seemed very helpful, anyway.

look, I'm having a bad day, I really don't need something like this

So after that Splatfest, I'm wondering if three-way battles might become a regular mode in Splatoon 4. Obviously there would need to be a bit of reworking. I'm thinking there could be a set of maps made with 60° rotational symmetry and three people to a team. Basically the Triforce map but with even teams.

I would not be opposed to this. Having a stage/stages specifically designed for Tricolor, instead of shoehorning it onto regular maps slightly modified to accommodate a third team, really does wonders

(This is also why S3 needs a Shifty Station equivalent)
