If you mean the list of subpages, they do still exist but only in a dropdown menu.
I agree that this change (if it is indeed a deliberate change and not merely a bug) is obtrusive. It requires user input for information that should be readily visible.
I made another thread concerning this.
I didn't know they were taken away on purpose and I have no idea how to access the subpages now.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseThere should be links to all namespaces right at the top of the page now, besides the "subpages" dropdown in the top links.
Additionally, certain uncommon subpages such as memes are not readily available on the main page. You would need to reach it through the YMMV page or elsewhere, provided that the link is available in the YMMV page or elsewhere.
INSIDE OF YOU THERE ARE TWO WOLVES. BOTH OF THEM WANT YOU TO SHOOT ELVIS.I can't find Epic Fail subpages easily now! D:
The Protomen enhanced my life.I'll be honest; I had completely forgotten about them. I use the pull-down menu at the top.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I didn't even know about the pull down menu until a few days ago.
I don't know why they got rid of those, there's no reason to.
what do you mean I didn't win, I ate more wet t-shirts than anyone elseThis is quite annoying when you're on a mobile phone. Requires you to scroll up to the top of the page to access a new subpage, instead of simply opening all desired subpages in new tab through the left-hand links.
It might have had something to do with subpages such as /VideoGames, /Literature, etc., for which usually the namespace list was colossal.

I think an alternative solution would be to "mark" these names as "too generic for namespaces" and don't display the namespace list for them, but keep it available for works.
Or maybe start differentiating work subpages from trope subpages (you know, the "page type" thing), and only displaying the namespaces for works.
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."The best solution is to only display them for works.
I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool. But this requires creating two sub-page types instead of just one, and re-tagging these derived from a work (though this can, in most cases, be automated — it would only fail whenever a work and trope share a name)
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."The "left sidebar" links for subpages were really helpful; I hope that they can be fixed/brought back. Although I knew about the drop-down list of subpages (and have to resort to it, for the time being), the left sidebar had the subpages much more readily available as it reduced the number of clicks needed to view and/or access a list of a work's given subpages.
I liked having the really long list on the side of pages, but some people might find it obtrusive. I support having the list of namespaces on all pages, but make it optional. Maybe have a folder-like element for it.
Personally, I found that huge list of pages on the left side obnoxious and don't miss it at all.
One advantage it has over the pulldown menu is that you can do tabbed browsing with it. I do frequently check several subpages at once and that way it's faster than with the pulldown.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanSorry for resurrecting this thread, but this is relevant. If you liked having a simple listing of links to all of a page's subpages (e.g. for easy tabbed browsing) then there's a simple solution.
Edit the URL to put a nonexistent namespace before the title (e.g. https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Hahaha/StarWars ). The wiki will return a list of links to all subpages of the given name.

Not sure if it's just me or something.
The list on the left menu column something had a list of all currently existing pages with the same name but in different namespaces (such as VideoGame. The Floor Is Jelly, WMG.The Floor Is Jelly, or YMMV.The Floor Is Jelly). I often use that listing to navigate between namespaces. But now they've seem to have disappeared.
Can this please be brought back?
