Yeah, bars with a point will always just beat straight up disses in historical rap battles. And Fawkes bought some to bear.

[up][up] The same applies to Fawkes, though. His image, no less than Guevara's, has been appropriated by people who don't remotely believe in the man's ideals. Arguably Fawkes has it worse, really, because at least some of the people who venerate Che Guevara genuinely hold his leftist, anti-capitalist ideals. I don't think anyone who wears a Guy Fawkes mask gives a single shit about the Catholic fundamentalism that Fawkes believed in.

[up] Because they don't venerate Guy Fawkes, they venerate V from V for Vendetta.

This is was a great one, much better than the last. I think Che's first verse won him the entire thing, despite Fawkes getting good hits in.

I agree with the consensus, loved this one. No clue who actually won (I felt Che had the better flow but Guy the better lines).

One detail I loved is the fact Che throws his cigar at Fawkes and Fawkes just slaps the cigar out of the air, causing it to land in the gunpowder piles sitting behind him (and thus lighting their fuse). And thus seguing into their explosion in Fawkes's last verse. Neat attention to detail.

I liked it a lot too, and it took me Guy asking "Is it the 5th of november?" for the penny to drop about the planned timing [lol]

Edit: Then it took me several hours I was so excited about it being the 5th that I forgot it is May, not November. Epic fail.

Something I've seen pointed out on Reddit and were thinking about myself: Does NicePeter's delivery in this one seem somewhat familiar to anyone else?

Theodore Roosevelt, perhaps? When he yells, it sounds a lot like "WHAT'S UP, BITCHES!"

Honestly I feel like most of the rappers Peter portrays sound very similar in terms of delivery.

There's only so many ways the same two guys can rap. It's why I like the episodes with guest rappers, it changes up the style.

I think Nice Peter is more versatile than y'all are giving him credit for. He's also played quite a few soft-spoken rappers (like Mr. Rogers, Bob Ross and Jim Henson).

I love to learn, I love to yearn, and most of all... I love to make money.

That's the first time in a while that a surprise guest caught me off guard. If it wasn't for Wendy, Ronald would have definitely won that.

Unfortunately, I figured out what the twist would be just from knowing a twist existed, so I'm not sure if I would've been surprised or not.

Still pretty cool.

Wendy's won for me. Pointing out that Ronald has been replaced as Mc Do's mascot.

Creepy unblinking Ronald-ception jumping around and multiplying himself and Wendy skipping away were the best parts for me. I wish they'd doubled down (that one's for you, KFC lover) on the creep factor of the King, too, just gone full nightmare.

They did not, alas. Still have not quite had a new favourite this season.

In general, the battles with "ambushes" by a third rapper tend to be among my least favorite, because the third rapper is almost always shown as the unquestionable victor and we don't really get to see much back-and-forth because the third gets no response to himself.

It's why I tend to prefer they either go 2 and stick with it or go 3+.
