Adolescent Infiltration Manipulation Espionage Department, often abbreviated to AIMED, is a British-American initiative to use children, or more accurately adolescents, as agents out in the field to go to places where adults can't or where adults would be under suspicion. After all, what can children do?

As it turns out, quite a lot. The idea was initially though of after 9/11 but due to social stigma, having to rewrite laws, the funding needed, etc. it required over a decade to be authorized, but eventually, it happened and scouts were sent out across Commonwealth countries and the USA to find the children who fit the bill, children who were exceptional, wise beyond their years, and easy to whisk away, no questions asked. These children were found and tested until only a few remained. These few make up AIMED. They'll also be your characters.

These exceptional children are designed to be able to aid adult agents in things from drug wars to international threats in ways only they can once their training is finished. They are also the forerunners to what the British and American governments hope will grow to be a flourishing, yet still secret, part of their espionage techniques, which will give them an edge over other countries in dealing with crime and their enemies. Good luck!

Rules

The rules are pretty simple, they're exactly the same as the forum and role playing rules so no need to sweat about it. Probably the most important is, Don't be a dick.

Sign-Up Sheet

And here's the sheet:

  • Name: Pretty simple right?
  • Age: Between 12 and 16.
  • Sex:
  • Appearance: Can be a picture or a description, I don't mind.
  • Abilities: By the way, what I meant by exceptional were things that you wouldn't expect children to be, e.g. a really good hacker, or a third-dan black belt, or photographic memory, not superpowers. So essentially anything special that your character can do.
  • Personality: I'm not expecting a full psychological report, just a few words about how the character acts on default.
  • Bio: What your character's past was like, and how they came to be chosen to work for AIMED.

Also, if there are any questions, just ask.

Reminds me a bit of gunslinger girl. Out of curiosity is the rp going to be more of a psychodrama with grey vs black morality, a government agency willing to use child soldiers vs organizations willing to kill those child soldiers, or more like mission impossible but with kids?

How do you kill that which has no life?

Hmmm. Alright then, let's give this a shot!

Name: Jennifer "Mouse" Frisby

Age: 12

Sex: Female

Description: Just under four feet (3'11") and quite light for her size (71 lbs). Has straight light-brown hair that almost reaches her shoulders and dark blue eyes with a hint of gold near the pupil. Pale skin and patches of freckles that march across her cheeks and nose. Prefers to wear baggier clothes to try and make herself look bigger, which occasionally leads to her tripping over the seams of her pants. Overall she looks much younger than her age, which she'll use to her advantage if possible.

Abilities: Mouse has been training for the summer Olympics since she could waddle to a balance beam. As a result, she is incredibly (almost disturbingly) flexible which, accompanied with her remarkably small stature, makes her an ideal infiltrator. She has received advanced training in martial arts after being recruited by A.I.M.E.D., but her combat skills are much less developed than some of her teammates; her job is to sneak into a place, not to fight her way through.

Personality: Despite being one of the youngest (and definitely the smallest) agents in A.I.M.E.D., Mouse is very protective and motherly towards her less-confident friends. She gets easily worked up if one of her "babies" is under attack. Her interests include gymnastics, pop tarts, and watching funny internet videos.

Bio: The daughter of a wealthy (and very busy) couple from Connecticut, Mouse spent an extraordinary amount of time in her family's barn, which had been renovated into a gymnasium for her to practice in. With a private coach and plenty of talent, Mouse was preparing to someday join the American team in the summer Olympics. Unfortunately, A.I.M.E.D. got to her first. Her parents still think she's at some sort of gymnastics camp. [lol]

  • Name: Sophia Doone
  • Age: 14
  • Sex: Female
  • Appearance: 5'1", slender build, unruly red hair that she hates because it defies her attempts to control it, blue eyes, sharp but attractive features she likes her clothes, even her casual wear to be neat and pressed but prefers to wear a power suit whenever given the opportunity.
  • Abilities: Frighteningly intelligent with an innate grasp of psychology and a focus on the law. She has training in both pistols and basic self defense techniques.
  • Personality: At first you would think her serious to the point of boring but if you pay attention you will notice a quick wit and dry, sarcastic sense of humor and that she has probably been using your initial perceptions to play you. Ambitious and manipulative it is her goal to pass the bar exam before she hits twenty. While she can use a gun and has some defense training she would much rather talk or think her way out of a situation than fight. Old enough to be aware of boys she doesn't think much of them but is not above using their hormones to her advantage.
  • Bio: Born to a working class family in southern California it didn't take Sophia long to realize that she was smarter than all the kids and most of the adults she knew. It didn't take much longer then that for A.I.M.E.D. to notice her breaking the Bell curve scores and to recruit her. She accepted and wrote out a contract that got her college funding. While they are satisfied with the deal she brokered A.I.M.E.D's hierarchy is a bit wary of her and keeps a closer eye on her than the others because they're not entirely sure of her loyalties.

So how serious is the tone going to be? Are we going for a Spy Kids/Totally Spies! motif or something more serious. I personally vote for something a little more serious but not much.

Yeah, it's a little more serious, being more realistic than the two examples you mentioned. It's more like Alex Rider/CHERUB from the examples in Teen Superspy.

[up]x4 So yeah, make a character. My suggestion would be someone to be either the Big Guy or the Smart Guy be we already have Sophia as The Face and the Mouse as The Sneaky Guy.

Wouldn't mind if it was an all girl crew, although I'm not pushing for it. The interest part yeah. Hoping that if we can get a crew of three we can start with that and garner more as we go.

Think I may join as well. Thinking of playing either...

1. A child soldier from south america, middle east, or Africa. Due to the environment in which they grew up they are apathetic about taking someone's life. Would be something of a pleasant sociopath. Age would be between 13-15, default would be male, but would change to female to continue trend if everyone else is.

2. An explosives expert who is the granddaughter of an IRA member. Something of a rebellious youth. Ex-terrorist. Possible Diazepam addict. Age would be between 14-16, female.

3. A shy computer hacker. A mute (by choice) who only communicates through social media and/or stuffed animals. The personality she exhibits this way would probably clash with the shy person she is in reality. Still very child like. Age would probably be 12, female, maybe British.

The first option I'm iffy about, since a child soldier from the places you said aren't from the countries that are a part of this, and a child soldier wouldn't be trusted enough to go on missions that are possibly in the countries that he/she's from. The last two options sound much better though. smile

Also, bear in mind that A.I.M.E.D aren't sexist, so if you want, you can make it an all girls team but it's perfectly fine if you make a male character too.

I rather like numbers 2 and 3. Number 1 seems a little grim. I wasn't trying to push an all girl team, it was just a thought.

A team with all girls would have a much different social dynamic from a team composed of both sexes, I would expect. Particularly given how they're right about puberty age.

  • Name: Charlotte "Charlie" Walker
  • Age: 15
  • Sex: Female
  • Appearance: 5'6" with shoulder length midnight blue hair, mahogany skin and amber brown eyes. Wears clothes made out of odd items, like a dress made from curtains.
  • Abilities: Has an incredible attention to detail as a result of her many years of sewing practice, and thus can pick out tiny details in just about anything she comes across. Her keen eyesight means that she is frighteningly good at target practice.
  • Personality: Preferring to work alone, Charlie is an enigmatic individual. Perfectly friendly to other people, and capable of taking charge of a group of people, she never allows herself to close to people. No one knows why this is.
  • Bio: Born in a small town in England, Charlie grew up isolated from other children, preferring to stay indoors and sew dresses for herself. Her attention to detail and keen eyesight got her spotted by the A.I.M.E.D, who offered her a job. Accepting, and with her parents permission, she became a child espionage.

[up][up]So, Friendly Sniper? For a certain definition of friendly anyway.

[up][up][up]True, especially if you only have one or two guys surrounded by a passel of girls. A reverse Smurfette Principle.

Name: Daniel Smith
Age: 15
Sex: Male

Appearance:
Short, messy sandy blonde hair, blue eyes. 5'4" in height with a lean, slightly muscular build. Casual wear is usually just a t-shirt, jeans, and sneakers. Would look more handsome if he smiled more, but usually he's just :|

Abilities:
Photographic memory, is able to recall specific details about things he's only seen for a brief instant. Combat training, focusing on close quarters combat. Remarkable poker face.

Personality:
Danny tends to not display his emotions on his face (like the opposite of wearing your heart on your sleeve), but underneath the blank expression is a boy who feels about as much as anybody else would. Sometimes a smile or a frown breaks through, but that's usually when he's either making a conscious effort to show it, or the emotion is at its peak.

Socialization is a challenge for him, doubly so when it involves girls. He would much rather stick to business. That, or Mario Kart.

Bio:
Danny was raised in an orphanage in Wales from a young age, but had been labeled "difficult to place" due to his unexpressiveness. Once AIMED ran across his file and noted his particular aptitude, picking him up was a relatively simple matter. He didn't have a family to look for him, and he wasn't all that attached to the orphanage anyway.
