Gwen's death is shocking cause A: The Villain did it and B: Norman gets his in the very next issue

And C: It's heavily implied that the hero actually did it, albeit by accident. I think Conway confirmed it in a letters page at some point.

With regards to Iris West... the story where she came back from the dead was suuuper “comics-are-weird”, in the way that Flash comics tend to be just a little weirder than the norm.

DC is becoming a mess on creative right now in 2018 and now in 2019, especially with the BS of Heroes In Crisis debacle.
