I want a tape deck for my spaceship. I need some kickass tunes to fly around with.

Oh really when?

That sounds like a mod opportunity there. Get into your ship, put in 65daysofstatic, Disturbed, The Living Tombstone, Aviators, or maybe something like Owl City or Malukah, and cruise the stars listening to nice music.

I was thinking something more like this

The mod thing does bring up a question though, get this for PS 4 or hold out for PC because I get the feeling this will be one hell of a game to mod with.

I always preferred video game music from games about jets, for some reason:

[up][up]See, If you're going to use a song used in Eva, you have to also use Gap of Dream, even if only for thematic purposes.

[up] What, not this beautiful work of art?:

Is using "Julian Assange is a Hillary butt plug" an acceptable signature quote?

I'll most likely be playing my own mix of sci-fi music: a mix of music from Mass Effect, Blade Runner, Stargate Universe and random "sci-fi sounding" songs.

Is not impressed.

Heh, I'd copy Zephram Cochran and play Magic Carpet Ride. tongue Still not getting this one, but I liked the topic of music to play while driving a starship.

Well, if a mod to get a music player for your ships does crop up, I'll probably be playing something along the lines of this:

(I know, I'm a sucker for remixes.)

You know, I'm probably just going to call my first ship Arin Hanson's Magic Grump Bus, and she'll be paired with such vessels as Jon Jafari's Parrot Finding Boat, Danny Avidan's Big McLovin'-Mobile, Ross O'Donovan's Irish Steam Train, Suzy Hanson's Lovey Lady Car, and Barry Kramer's Undying Pimp Hand. Someone else can take Normandy and Normandy SR-2.

And yes, they'll all be Game Grumps references.

Too easy.

The planets within the universe will have a 10% chance of having life on them, with 90% of them having no life on at all. Of the 10% that does have life, 90% of that will be primitive and boring. So the lush garden worlds with more evolved life forms on will be rare

Fun fun fun!

Seems fine to me, as long as:

1. You get sensors that give you at least a semi-decent picture of a world without having to land on it

2. The worlds without life still have *interesting* stuff, in terms of weather and geology

It almost seems to me that they are trying to make the game more like an actual universe than a fun game. Not sure how to feel about that.

I mean, the game's supposed to put you in the shoes of an interstellar explorer, right? You're not going to make a universe-shaking discovery like an advanced civilization every day, are you? It sounds like the universe will be more like Spaceman Spiff than Star Trek in population density.

Also true. I only meant that if players spend all of their time travelling from wasteland to wasteland, the game would get boring pretty fast. But I hope I'm wrong.

10% of planets have life. 10% of life-bearing planets have "advanced" life. 1% of planets have "advanced" life.

To quote the devblog linked on page 3:

We’re working to a 64-bit system, which is 2 to the power of 64… or 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 possible planets.

Now, lets do a little math:

1% x 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 = 1.84467441e^17

1% is a fucking massive number.
