Brooklyn Nine-Nine

Yeah, Gina's Jerk Sue tendencies are... well, I'm kinda reaching my limit on them.

... well, not really. I don't think I'll ever reach my limit as long as the show keeps the high quality, but it's still grating.

Apparently, we're gonna be seeing Holt's mom soon.

"From now on, the only 'black male' I want anything to do with is you!"

That actually managed to make me do a spit take and lose it laughing.

That line was beautiful. And Holt's reaction just made me lose it even more.

The new episode of Brooklyn Nine-Nine combines the show's usual excellent humor with a plot on racial profiling. A+ episode.

Dunno, it felt a bit Very Special Episode for me. Made the episode a bit uneven. Granted, that's been the feeling I've gotten out of most of the episodes since the show came back, so it might not be due to them trying to tackle some real issues.

I loved the new episode! Particularly with Holt and Terry with differing attitudes to things and why.

I really liked the episode, too! I was worried it might come across as preachy, but it didn't at all. I thought they handled the topic well.

(I also liked that, for the first time, an episode had an A-plot that didn't involve Jake. I like Jake, but I'd like for more A-plots to not involve him.)

"You think that because you love me and love has made you dumb."

Lost it laughing at that line due to how relatable it is for me when I'm stressing over important things I inevitably nail and my girlfriend reassures me. Or with my best friend during the 4 years when we dated to now in the present.

Talk about a downer ending...

So many people were freaking out about it on Tumblr. I'm gonna watch the episodes soon.... I'm worried.

So... I finally watched it... and HOLY FUCKING SHIT. What a cliffhanger, holy crap! I can't believe they're going to jail! How're they gonna get out of this one?

Nevermind, Season 4 is only 22 long.

I'm still reeling from that, holy crap.

So I'm at the Moo Moo episode and I did not expect it to be as serious as it was. I loved it.

Especially two days after seeing the latest iZombie and its nice, racist old lady being interrogated by Ravi. It's like TV shows are trying to send a message these days.

Is it weird that I liked that episode because I went into it going "oh lord, it's another cliché 'lost the child's precious thing and spending the rest of the episode making it up to them' plot" to the point that I went "Oh thank god, it's just an episode devoted to institutional racism."

Bahaha, oh man, that possibility of the plot didn't even occur to me! Good thing they didn't go that route. That type of plot is so irritating.

So a couple things.

First off, fuck the B99 social media team. A couple hours after the episode aired and they post blatant spoilers that just show up in my newsfeed. Serious bullshit.

Secondly, is Rosa/Gina a huge pairing? Literally the first I'm hearing of it at all is someone adding it to the YMMV page as a Fan-Preferred Couple.

It seems pretty popular on Tumblr? I dunno. I don't care much for it (probably because I don't care that much from Gina O.o).

I like Gina as a comedic character, but she's a pretty terrible person. Rosa deserves better.

Yeah, that's pretty much my opinion too.

So the spoilers thing would normally make me very Cranky, but since I was having a rough night, the spoilers absolutely made my day. So, so, so cute.

Gina… I can definitely understand why some people don’t like her character. But I also think that the Gina/Rosa pairing would be interesting on several different levels, and given Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s track record for portraying loving LGBT relationships, I see why people want a lesbian relationship. Gina/Rosa is the only F/F ship possible with the main cast, given that most of the fandom loves Jake/Amy.
