Rommel is also the only one who gave an actual goddamn argument as to why anyone would ever prioritize GBN's continued existence over a goddamn Sentient AI, that being some people just flat out can't walk in the real world, or do other things like that.

Sure, it's not the best argument one could make, but it's also the only argument anyone has attempted to make, at all, in any capacity.

Huh, the side skirt armor is from the G-Self. I thought I was just blowing hot air when I said it looked like it.

... really like the fact the front skirt armor are beam cannons. Because why not.

You know, I'm surprised they haven't released info on the Figure-Rise Sarah yet. You'd think since it would be a 1-to-1 scale figure, they'd try to have it on shelves before the episode where she enters the Figure Rise body.

That was better and worse than I expected.

  • Good on Kyoya for realizing that Game Master was not obligated to abide by his and Riku's deal. But why the fuck do Kyoya's rights as guildmaster of Avalon override the administration's debug tools?
  • The Jegan Blast Master is awesome, but I've always been a sucker for Gundam X, so I'm biased. Even so, as much as I dislike this series, the mecha design has always been pretty good.
  • Momo v. Karuna was great and I'm looking forward to more of it next week.
  • Despite all the hype from the preview, Tigerwolf v. Shahry was really forgettable.
  • Why is Nanami being benched for the final battle? I was promised a Zakrello. That's 80% of the reason I'm still watching this show.

Because they're not releasing a Zakrello model kit, and they are releasing a Nanami kit. Why waste time advertising something that you're not selling?

Which is why I'm baffled they haven't announced the Sarah kit yet. Are they playing coy and pretending they're not going to make one?

Pretty sure the admin must play by the rules unless you want the whole playerbase go against you.

Also that's some Ialdabaoth reference with Tigerwolf's finisher.

Know what? I enjoyed the episode. Still hate Sarah, the fight scenes were astoundingly weak both in terms of choreography and animation (other than super attacks, the fights were basically stills), and kinda hate everything this is predicated on... but it was a fun episode. Maybe my bar is just low after the last few episodes, but I didn't mind watching it. That's relatively high praise at this point.

The awkward elevator scene was delightful.

I wish they had Leo NPD's or Guard GM's or something else for mooks. Because as much as I appreciate the Mythology Gag and game of "ID the mecha," that all of the Coalition fighters are so hilariously weak stretches credulity and just makes me question the game mechanics more and more.

> Pretty sure the admin must play by the rules unless you want the whole playerbase go against you.

Irrelevant. In an online game, the moderator/admin authority is absolute. In fact, most games have a blanket rule that if you somehow hack the game to subvert their authority, that's automatically cheating and means your ass is getting banned.

Granted, the Game Master abusing his authority at this point probably would cause the company to face public backlash, but from a coding standpoint it is utterly absurd that a player's rights ever supercede an admin's.

I guess at this point we shouldn't be surprised that the writers don't have the slightest clue how online games actually work, though.

Honestly, since GBN clearly runs on a different set of rules than real-life MMOs, I'm honestly not letting it bother me anymore.

Also, is it just me, or are those Thieleva-class T-Bits on the back of the AGE II Magnum? I don't recall those being part of his original build.

Considering the Champion and GM seem to be friends to some degree I wonder if the champ might be able to do what he did because he has higher privileges than an average player.

Which sure the GM could just remove them probably, but that might cause some backlash if depending on if the Champion was even supposed to have that kind of status.

Not sure why, but Tigerwolf always puts on a good show when he fights. Feels like he would fit right in with G Gundam.

Tigerwolf just spammed special moves, he didn't show any actual skill in this last battle.

It was a tremendously dull battle. Other than like... Seravee's first punch, it was all special move spam.

... which, granted, we're mostly seeing for the first time this episode which is why it's so weird. It feels like recycled footage but it's largely new footage done in the style of recycled footage. All the work of new footage, but the visual impact of recycled! Yay!

Seriously, it was a garbage fight.

What's weird to me is how quickly Shahrya pulls a Heel–Face Turn after Tigerwolf pulls a move that somehow not only overpowers Trans-Am (which seemed to suppress Tigerwolf for only a moment, which is a little bit cheap), but also sends the Seravee crashing to the ground in a ridiculously large crater.

Also, didn't know that you could create a new Finishing Move as soon as a different part is equipped. That's the kind of tactic that would break championship fights, if you catch my drift.

I got a question for those who know their Mobile Weapons. What's that background purple Mobile Armour that shows up at the 11:03 point? I thought it was a Clanche but it doesn't have the right profile. It's been bugging me. Thanks to whoever can answer my question.

Edit:There's one between a GM Kai and Aries on the bottom screen and one between a Raider and and a GM Kai on the right top corner. It has a angular body with two stabilizers and a hood-like head. I hope this helps.

Edit 2: You're right that they're Taurus. I wasn't sure because because there's no good forward shot when they're in Mobile Armor but it fit. Thanks.

Which mobile armor? There are Tauruses (from Wing), Raiders (SEED), and Methusses (Zeta), plus Glasses Lieutenant's Impulse. Only the Impulse or Tauruses might be considered purple, but they should be blue/black respectively.

EDIT to your edit: That's the Taurus.

EDIT to your EDIT 2: Yeah, it's an angle that... isn't commonly seen on the Taurus. Can't blame you on that one. But all the details match up perfectly.

That was much better than I thought it would be.

  • Riku v. Kyoya was actually a good fight. I was certain that it would just be Higher than Sky v. Excalibur (and that is indeed what it ended on, albeit with Ogre's fire sword added to the mix, but what came before was pretty damn impressive. The emotional impacts landed pretty well too, I'd say.
  • Seeing Hyakki come to the rescue made me realize that not only is Ogre a really boring character, but also that every last member of his team is more interesting than he is.
  • I hope that the slightly increased focus on Patrick means that he's about to do what Patrick does best.

Next time, looks like the finale. Also real life Magee.

Honestly, I should have seen the FX-Plosion Mode coming. Given that I root for Team Avalon and all.

But I'm kinda disappointed that after 11 episodes of just seeing the Avalon Impulses in the OP, they're wiped out thanks a Big Damn Heroes moment.

  • This episode may as well have been called C"haracterShilling: Because we don't know any other way, alright?"
    • I mean, obviously Sarah, who taught everyone love and hope by... being there. Ironically I'd say only Yukki has a reasonable POV on that one since he's... Jesus, he's the only character who has had anything resembling an arc in the entire show, huh? Oh no, Ayame too. But Yukki's actually did tie in with his episode with Sarah. Fucking Koichi in particular was glaring, considering his mind was changed by literally everyone but Sarah.
    • But Jesus. Ogre. What a boring character. "I want to eat fights!" "OBVIOUSLY OUR UNIVERSE CENTERS AROUND THIS GLORIOUS MAN." Seriously Hyakki, what the shit?
  • Related, really hate the prevalence of Super Modes. First off, it's annoying that Trans-Am is a 100% no-drawbacks boost now. There's no reason not to use it as soon as a fight begins. But then it runs into the DBZ problem where anyone without a Super Mode is either left in the dust or is objectively stronger without said Super Mode.
  • Also Plot Armor. All the Plot Armor. It's to be expected, but it was particularly bad because some Avalon operator kept going "and he's totally down now."
  • I'd also like to know what that operator was on when he said "our side is winning!" At that point in the battle, Team Build Divers had lost... one shuttle. That they were intending to lose. He said two machines were down but A: No they weren't, and B: One of them was on your side at the beginning of the fight. Team Build Divers was stronger than before, idiot. And your side had lost several dozen suits (and one Ace).
  • But... despite my complaints, yeah, better than I expected. The fights were fun, well-animated, and well-choreographed. Although the Impulses going down like bitches was less than fun. But I came away from this feeling like they actually could do a pretty decent show... if they weren't steadfastedly focused on the worst characters.

To be fair the divers only had to have one person reach the objective point.

The build divers also had the bulk of their team being aces. That and half the main force looked to be on their last legs which includes their aces.

Gundam always saves their ace in the hole super modes for when they need them. Other people probably would spam them, but it would make sense that some people would only bust them out when they actually need them.

Not surprised Ogre showed up though I was kinda expecting him to make a buffet reference along with his usual need to devour everything in sight.

I am going to assume it was his strength that drew them all together.

At least someone finally mentioned the fact that they can rebuild GBM if it collapsed.

I liked the ep. Next ep looks to be a pretty good wrap up for the series.

See, that's a Voodoo Shark to me. Bringing it up would be like someone going "... you know, it's really weird that an AI spontaneously came into existence" or "man, this MMO makes no fucking sense as a game." Highlighting it now just makes it so much weirder that it wasn't addressed earlier.

Nah, Ogre suddenly showing up with his force like that is kinda a case of The Only One Allowed to Defeat You. After all, the fight they had previously was cut short by Kyoya's broadcast regarding the reformation of the Coalition, right?

So, of course, he's not gonna let anyone beat Riku when he's still got unfinished business, least of all the champ.

Man, the animation in this episode proves the animators at least are talented.

If we had some writers capable of writing characters, a plot, and battles that don't end in special move spam...

If they could just boot this idiot director out and never let him near a Gundam series again, I'd be happy.
