[up]x5

Bad as in 3 or bad in general? Because, if it's like DW 3, I'll happily take more "I am my own enemy? This will be difficult!"

I Platinum'd Warriors Orochi 3 and it only took me six years.

Pirate Warriors 4 is next.

... Man, they really seem to have abandoned the series that started the anime-warriors tie ins: Mobile Suit Gundam.

[up] I did it for the PS 3 version and I promised myself that I will never platinum a musou game ever again.

Granted the Trophies differed between console generations but it still wasn't pleasant trying to level everyone, includingtthe ccharacters yyou hate using.

Did the PS 3 version have Gauntlet mode and THE DAMN ESCAPE NINJAS [nja] in it?

Because DAMN THOSE ESCAPE NINJAS [nja] DEAR GOD.

Playing as Sophitia really does make me want other Soul Calibur characters in these games...

I think it's fair the games ask you to put at least a modicum of effort into playing each character. [lol] The enormous roster tends to be the whole selling point.

I don't think it did but then I don't like things being tedious to the point I fall asleep.

I should try WO 4 though. Problem is, rarely anything Tecmo Koei goes on sale.

Funny that I'm necroing this after that last post, but I'm itching for a Musou game for the Switch and thinking of getting WO 4 Definitive, which is on sale to $45. I've played every numbered DW game and the Gundam Warriors, but this feels like it would scratch that itch with familiar characters but also be kinda out there plotwise that it wouldn't feel like a retread... though I'm assuming there's no historical levels or anything in here?

Orochi 4 Ultimate is awesome. Get it.

It's a sequel to 3, but all the human characters got their memories wiped so while there are a few allusions ("I feel like I've done this before...") it's otherwise a completely seperate and unique plot.

Fuck it. I'm sold. Sometimes you just wanna fight a thousand dudes in baller armor and it looks like this will deliver that. Anything else will just be a cherry on top.

Really wish the Orochi setting got a Kessen game, with most of the mechanics from 1 and 2, and even a few of 3's (Like the Grinding Maps.). Imagine convincing the Snake Men Generals to join you mid map and keeping them.

For battles the open world aspect is gone but it does exist still for going on strolls during the planning phase.

It is limited to traveling, fighting bandits/beasts and talking with allies or recruiting unaffiliated officers in the area.

I really feel the open world shenanigans would have fit Empires perfectly, so I'm rather disappointed it got stripped out there. I also think Open World can work for Warriors games in general, they just need to execute it better.

Yeah it definitely needs a lot more freedom to work well since having events potentially play out differently would help in terms of playing multiple characters for a main series game.

One interesting thing is some of the random situations that occured feel like believable for the characters to do to a degree.

After recruiting Cao Cao a few turns later his son and a few Wei generals banded together for a rebellion.

Yue Ying also for a short period of time had her own chunk of land after forming a vagabond unit and said army included Zhuge Liang her husband and Lui Bei who had lost his territory early the campaign.

Something I just realized about how to adapt the Fall of Wu: why not have it in a game with Chen Shou as the lead star?

Samurai Warriors has one centering on Sanada Yukimura (Spirit of Sanada) so why not a DW game on the guy who, through his Records of the Three Kingdoms made it possible for Romance of the Three Kingdoms and these games to exist?
