You can just watch the cutscenes for the rest of Co M. It's not a big deal. Just make sure you do that before starting 2, otherwise you'll be lost.
The original KH 2, IMO, was not that great a game because it was far too easy and monotonous even on the hardest difficulty (Proud). But the HD Collections have KH 2 FM instead, which has Critical mode and a bunch of cool new optional bosses and stuff that make it a very fun game to play. Depending on what kind of player you are you may not want to play on Critical, but for me it's by far the most fun way to play the game.
Also, just a tip: the PS 3 versions have very long load times whenever you go into a Drive form (you'll understand what I mean when/if you get around to playing it). This can be bad in certain situations since you're immobile the whole time, so it's good to pause the game to let it load so you're not caught in a bad position.
FuRyu is temporarily suspending its game development operations.
This kinda makes me sad, The Alliance Alive was one of my favorite 3DS JRPGs to come out in recent years.

So, I just finished Disk 1 of The Legend of Dragoon. I managed to beat Emperor Doel using Dart, Albert, and Rose. Last night, I lost against Doel but after buying lots of health potions and resurrection potions, I managed to win today on my first try. I'm really liking the game so far. I have over 13 hours so far.
So, here's some good news for people playing Octopath Traveler. The game has sold over 1 million copies Worldwide. Here's an article talking about it.
https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2018-08-03-octopath-traveller-sells-1-million-units-worldwide
Its because of how accessible the Switch is.
Bravely Default took almost a year to sell a million when released outside of japan, and Bravely Second lost sales due to its censorship issues.
Just by comparisons sake.
Watch SymphogearNo it didn't.
Bravely Default was just as censored (and that censorship was just as known)
and no one cared. It didn't sell as well because it wasn't significantly different from the first one. All the stink about censorship almost never impacts a game's sales, no matter how much nerds on the internet want to pretend otherwise.
No need to be condescending.
And Tell that to Tokyo Mirage Sessions, which was going to be an M rated game outside of Japan but was changed to teen. That destroyed its sales, along with being on the Wii U.
Watch SymphogearI don't know why it is you think I'm being condescending when I say anything here, but I'm not.
Either way, Mirage Sessions was dead on arrival. It was a colossal flop in its home country - mostly because it wasn't remotely what fans of Fire Emblem or Shin Megami Tensei were expecting and was on the flop of a console called the Wii U - and actually sold somewhat better when it came over to the west, censorship controversy or no.
Yeaaaaaaaaaah TMS had so many reasons to fail and be a flop citing the censorship as the main one seems disingenuous to me.

"when you stare too long into the abyss, Xehanort takes advantage of the distraction to break into your house and steal all your shit."I still bought it.
I feel like this is the reason why Japan tends to pander with certain games. They think this is what Western Audiences want.
And we do tend to buy this shit at times.
Note that I was still kinda liking TMS, despite the idol stupidity, but then again, I'm still pretty new to both FE and SMT.
...and I still thought the idols were stupid, but I was mostly there for the gameplay, which is pretty fun.
One Strip! One Strip! You know, despite Final Fantasy XV being a success and all... It's the epithome of the main problem afflicting not only RPG games, but all of the Japanese industry: They are just merely trying to cater to a specific audience instead of doing their own thing.

Growing up, it's like a civil war, don't turn away, it's something you can't ignore...It was the biggest ding on why SMT fans didn't get into it. SMT / persona fans love their dark takes on social issues and well that got ripped out of the game.
It was a time when we hadn't seen a console SMT / Persona game in more than 6 years too.
Legends of Localization's coverage on the FF6 opera scene.
If you've got some time to spare, it's a really interesting look between the original script, the SNES translation, the GBA translation, and the fan translation, along with a Google translate for the lols.
It comes down pretty hard on the fan version, most of the time the translators don't have a good enough grasp of the language to get what's being said and change a line's meaning, slightly rephrase the SNES version, or punch up the dialogue in a way that doesn't clarify any detail.
I've bought Lost Odyssey for $1. I guess Microsoft thought having an exclusive Mistwalker JRPG would make their console more popular with Japan and make a rival franchise to compete with Final Fantasy. Obviously didn't pan out.
Graphics and cutscenes are pretty good. Gameplay animation is sweet. That said, the semi realistic faces are as bad as Xenoblade Chronicles X.
Pacing is slow too. I'm 1 hour 52 min in and I barely assembled the first party. Most of the time was plot, running to plot locations, and Thousand Years of Dreams. Haven't fought any enemy outside of the tutorial.
Where there's life, there's hope.the consensus i've seen is that the music and the thousand years of dreams are the main reason to play the game. Normally Takehiko Inoue's art would be a high point but the character models don't represent his art very well and the clothing designs were done by a separate artist and a lot of them look pretty silly.
Bumping this thread up.
I managed to finish playing The Legend of Dragoon yesterday evening. Overall, I thought it was a decent JRPG title from the PS 1 era. The music in the game, especially the opening song was pretty good. The main characters were decent but not the most original cast of characters. I also thought the story was actually not bad though it could get hard to follow at times. Also, the CGI still looked pretty good especially for a game from the late 90's.
However, despite it being a decent game, it had some noticeable flaws. For one, the graphics aged badly. It might have looked pretty good back then but now, it looks too blocky. Also, the voice acting isn't really good. Some of the voice actors either sound wooden or they're hamming it up. I also have to say something about the Addition system. While I didn't hate it, I felt like the combat system was kind of tedious. Especially when you have to time your button presses correctly or you won't damage your enemies more. I can't count how many times I messed up a combo due to the button presses being too complicated. Finally, and this is my opinion, the archers you have in this game are pretty useless. I almost never used Shana or Miranda while playing the game. Their arrows do pretty piss poor damage. So, I used any character other than those two.
So, despite its flaws, I kind of liked Legend of Dragoon. It's no classic like some people say it is but I liked it.
6h20m into Lost Odyssey
I've lost twice against the Numaran Army and the Numaran Cavalry. They dish out so much damage.
The Griffin boss is surprisingly easy. It keeps attacking Jansen in the backrow and Jansen easily outheals it while Seth and Kaim smack it on the head.
For an immortal with magical power, Ming is rather emotionally fragile.
Where there's life, there's hope.Having finished playing Legend of Dragoon, I'm replaying Tales of Symphonia for a third time. I only got in an hour of playtime yesterday. I'm around the part where Lloyd and Genis help out Marble from the Human Ranch. I'll play some more today.

Finished Disc 1 of Lost Odyssey. Just 10 hours? Changing disc feels weird to me because I'm not familiar with PS1-PS2 era JRPG. All Xenoblade games don't need any disc change. Do the FFXIII games have disc change?
The game makes Lirum's funeral seem more complicated than it actually is. It is actually quite poignant, awkward minigame notwithstanding.
I just love Cooke. Her animations are just adorable.
The hardest fight in this disc is the soldiers picking on Cooke and Mack. It drained 9 of my Medicine Herbs.

Where there's life, there's hope.FFXIII on 360 was 3 disks yeah. The 360 used DV Ds instead of Blurays and had to split the 50 gig game onto 3 disks. The only thing that changed from disk to disk was the prerendered cutscenes and audio, the ‘game’ was on all 3 disks.
XIII-2 and LR stopped with the massive prerendered cutscenes and fit on one disk.

Here's an update on my progress in Tales of Symphonia. I'm currently at the Thoda Geyser. I managed to get to the water seal and beat the water guardian. I also managed to beat Magnius and destroy the human ranch before hand. I currently have a little over 7 hours so far.

17 hours into Lost Odyssey.
The Old Sorceress boss fight was easy. I never had to worry about healing.
The Black Cave is irritating. It's poorly lit and trap holes are everywhere.
Where there's life, there's hope.I have 10 hours so far in Tales of Symphonia. I just finished beating Kvar and destroying the Asgard Human Ranch. Before that, I went to Asgard and beat the fake summon spirit and I also went to the Balacruf Mausoleum to break the wind seal.
22 hours into Lost Odyssey. Finished Disc 2 and onto Disc 3.
Mack is rather underwhelming once the immortals learn Spirit Magic, but he is the third character to use rings efficiently so he stays relevant.
There is no fight that gives me trouble in this disc. That said, Checkpoint Starvation is annoying when playing in small sessions.
Where there's life, there's hope.
I only played the first one despite owning the 1.5 and 2.5 collections on PS 3. And I really enjoyed it. I think it took me a bit longer than it seems to be taking you though Pointless. After a certain point I just started using a guide if I got stuck for more than 10-15 minutes, but before that I spent quite a long time on some of the words.
I started Chain of Memories afterwards, but I wasn't really enjoying it, so I was considering reading the lore for it and skipping to KH 2.
Also, I have a fairly big list of games I'm choosing from right now, I've got a couple of weeks free and want to jump into at least one RPG. Does anyone have any advice on which one I should go with first? I already own them all, and will probably get around to playing them eventually, but I could use a little help to break my indecision.
The games I'm choosing from are: Persona 3: FES, Final Fantasy X-2 (I've already started the first 6-7 hours of this about a year ago). Bravely Second, Tales of Symphonia, Tales of Bersaria , Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch and lastly Kingdom Hearts II.
