Lost EPCOT Center Attractions.

It's kinda sad to see how neglected and empty the Future World Part is.

Now that I think about it, did anyone else actually see the infamous "the Making of Me" Attraction in the Wonders of Life Pavillon? I actually saw it when I went in second grade. Honestly, it was not nearly as bad as you'd think it would be, and actually very well done.

Oh yeah, Max was a thing. One of my favorite Disney characters, too bad not much is being done with him anymore.

And yes, that probably has something to do with this modern trend that Disney is taking with having characters that are more quirky and childish than normal.

Goofy could be a quirky dad. We have plenty of those in fiction. If all else fails, write Max as an adult who moved out.

Well he was always a quirky dad, Goof Troop was in fact pretty damn wacky. Just there was at least one foot still on the ground there. The shorts Goofy is almost a mentally retarded jackass (which also make up a lot of quirky dads, but usually for adult show material).

Yeah, Goofy is pretty much a G-Rated Homer Simpson when it comes to Max.

It's been 3000 years…

[up]Nah, Goofy lacks Homer's abrasiveness (he'd NEVER strangle Max, that's for sure). He's more of the Kindhearted Simpleton sort. That's the key difference between him and shorts Goofy.

The earlier 50s "George Geef" Goofy might, but I'm not sure where he stands as the official character.

The history of the Sleeping Beauties Castle Walk Through at Disneyland.

When the park first opened, it was just a facade, but after many guests expressed interest in bring able to go inside the castle, Walt realized that creating a Sleeping Beauty Walk through, would be a good chance to create a new attraction, and and cross promote the then upcoming Sleeping Beauty.

According to Ken Anderson, the first time Walt took him up to the second, unfinished floor of the castle, they were confronted with a hundred or so cats, that had took up residence. Walt insisted on cleaning up all the cats, and rehoming them, which is such a Walt thing to do.

I have vague memories of the Barbie version. Largely me being too scared to go up the stairs due to loud noises (I think from Maleficent's dragon form).

I made a video of me accompanying myself on ukulele to sing One Little Spark from EPCOT's Journey into Imagination.

I'm still learning how to play, and it's not perfect, but it's not too bad I don't think.

Seeing Disney World and Disneyland videos makes me really curious about seeing the rides and how they change myself. Maybe in the future I'll make it a point to go every few years. Overall, how often do the rides get overhauled? Every five years? Ten?

Anyway. Disney's film schedule has been pretty subpar when it comes to original content. I have no doubt there are ideas running about, but not much besides sequels and remakes have been mentioned. Gigantic is dead, King of the Elves is dead, that Rumplestiltskin rumor seems dead, etc, etc.

Wasn't Lasseter stifling the animation department? Maybe with him gone we'll get more original movies in a few years.

A forgotten, bizarre bit of 80s Disney strangeness.

Apparently Tad Stones worked on this.

Ha! Buzz used the "trap someone with my helmet" strategy from his fight with Woody in the first movie.

[up](x4) There hasn't been much news, at the very least. Plenty of cartoons on tv but not much in theatres.

I'm still bitter about Gigantic's cancellation. I don't doubt it could have worked out if they tried a bit longer. Disney films go through Development Hell all the time. Tangled and Frozen changed completely from announcement to release.

Did anyone look at this short that just came out from Pixar? I mean wow. I thought it was going to be a general audience thing, but it looks like it's aimed more for a mature crowd.

That is interesting in the context of one of the assets Disney gets from Fox is India's biggest streaming service. It sounds a little bit odd that they are now setting up a rival to themselves, unless they want to connect both and this is basically to make appetite for the streaming service.
