I had to farm mercury for awhile to get a piece of Morphic for my Cronus. tongue Still haven't finished it...

Aw, sucks. I somehow got all my mats before I had the blueprints, so that was pretty neat.

According to a guy I met, the best farm for exp was defense against corpus, since it isn't that much of a painful mission and you get a lot of mooks handed to you.

Or you could always just progress normally.

Well, I made a mistake of buying an Orokin Reactor for the Skana, which means that I have more slots that I need, but make good use of them. Now it's got bonus standard, AP and Fire damage, Crit Chance and Stun Chance. I kinda don't need Cronus, especially considering that I'm farming cash for Lex. Then, it's Boltor and looking for Fire Rate upgrade.

So close to getting myself a shiny new frame.

Got the chassis and system that are being built as we speak, and soon I'll be able to build the helmet before starting the whole frame.

Soon. It's the Mag frame for those that wonder.

I also picked up the Latron, and it started fairly weak, but it got stronger with just a couple of mods, so I'm pretty happy of that investment. The armor penetration makes a world of difference against the Corpus crewman and their stupid MOA. God I hate the shock wave MOA, it's like a walking war crime.

One of the reasons I want to build the Saryn Frame is that it has an ability similar to the one I already use with the Loki one. It's saved my butt a few times.

It'll be a long time before I can make it though.

Heh, invisibility is probably the only power of Loki I use often. Decoy is awesome on defense too, but switch teleport and radial disarm? Yet to find a use for those.

Also, the Latron is godly when modded with armor pen, I like it so much now. The only thing that annoys me are shields, but I'll add an ice mod when I have enough room to fix that. Aw yeah.

And shit does rubedo take a lot of time to farm. I've been defending on Earth for a couple of times now and I still miss 100 rubedo (about 5 drops). Soon Mag helmet, soon.

[up][up] Switch Teleport works on friendlies too. Caught in the middle of some nasties? Tag in your Furax-using Excalibur! Essentially, the switch allows you to support allies as well as reposition yourself! Much more useful than it seems, though invisibility is definitely a better Oh Shit button.

QuestionMarc Since: Oct, 2011 Relationship Status: Having tea with Cthulhu
#33: Apr 9th 2013 at 10:27:30 AM

[up] I wouldn't recommend switching place with an ally. It is confusing for them, especially if they don't expect it. The only exception I could see is a Rhino, who will proceed to give mathematically and physically zero shits whatsoever before goring everyone. Other melee characters can probably handle it too but heh. Oh, and funny fact: You can switch place with your decoy. At least Switch Teleport cost just 25 energy.

Personally I'm pretty much through with my testing phase of the game, and feel very comfortable investing enough to be a bronze founder (20,72 CA $). I won't lie, the silver grade is also very attracting, but I'm not sure yet. I don't want to buy everything in the game with plat, so there's no chance I'll go gold or plat founder.

I started working on my future frames already, I have all the blueprints for Trinity, 2 out of 3 for Rhino and ember's special helmet. My Loki is maxed, so I bought the Banshee because I was interested by it since day one and sonic boom looks pretty fun.

Also, just succeeded a defense mission where the core went down to 1%. Yikes!

I'm allowing myself the exquisite pleasure of a double post to share with you guys some infos you could like. As you may have heard, the devs made a livestream today and posted it on youtube for our enjoyment:

It's one hour long, so I doubt anyone else than me will bother watching it all, but worry not! I did, and I can tell you stuff!

Wheeeeeeeee

Anyway, the biggest thing to note is that update 8 is coming this friday, with a bunch of new stuff (a new melee weapon, a pistol that has been given it's akimbo version and I think a new shotgun) along with a lot of new goodies for clans. My guts tells me no one here cares about clans tho.

Second biggest thing: they are working on implementing on a melee weapon called the Glaive. Yes, that Glaive. You'll be able to throw it at enemies too. Along with that, they announced some throwable items. That wasn't announced for update 8, but still cool to know that it exists.

They also mentioned that a new boss was being worked on as we speak, namely to replace "Golem", and even showed artwork (spoiler alert: it's an infested). All around, they said they didn't want to add more damage sponges but that bosses take some time to introduce properly with moves, lore, art etc etc.

The community in general raised problems with specific frames, and the devs responded that they're always looking to make frames feel better. So yes, they are working on making better (or tweaking) abilities for frames. They also raised the possibilities of new powers for frames, and more than 4 powers per frame. Oh, and yes, they are working on new frames, in fact one of the dev said he would get back to one right after the stream.

According to the devs, the Stalker doesn't exist. What's a Stalker anyway? We certainly won't get more info about him in time.

Devs said they were working on a new faction.

They said they were also preparing a bundle of laser weapons to be released all at once instead of one by one. Definitely getting new pets options along with new pets (Sentinels, whatever). There will also be new mods eventually, including one to help with crowd control (maybe not the door lasers because it would be too popular).

And some other stuff was showed in the video, along with a new "tile" (section of map, they announced a couple of those). Oh, and it featured a dev in very short shorts. That were pink. And it wasn't the gal.

The devs looks like a fun bunch all around.

So I have been bumping around the game for a little while.

Still in an Excalibur frame not quite rank 2 yet.

I have the Cronus sword but still kicking around the base pistol and rifle.

The levels are kinda samey. They seem to be made of room set pieces arranged in a semi-random fashion.

It isn't a ZOMG knock your socks off game but it isn't bad either. Good for wasting some time or basic entertainment.

Lets see. I hate the games version of the flood. Nasty and almsot over powered. The Grineer are ok. Haven't really fought many other enemies so far still kicking around Venus I think it was.

The only thing I kinda hate about the game is the very poor team matching.

Nothing sucks worse then being paired with a grossly overpowered teammate who murders everything in the room in seconds. You are pretty much left picking up bits and maybe mopping up the few they miss.

It can be fun though. it is kinda satisfyign to slash enemies in half or pop their heads off.

My two most hated enemies I have so far are the damn Shield Mooks and the Heavy Gunners.

[up][up] My pleasure.

[up]Flood? You mean the Infested or the Corpus?

The corpus can get really annoying, but electric weapon mods stuns the crewmen, so that makes it a bit better. Also, didn't think you'd be annoyed by shield lancers, your sword ignores the shield and Excaliburs are all about swordplay. Heavy gunners are bad yeah, but with some armor penetration mods you can make your weapon pretty darn efficient against them.

Also, I got a Lex, leveled it to lvl 5 and at level 3 I popped an Armor Piercing mod in it.

This gun is such a huge "fuck you" to Moas it's scary. One smack in the turret and even a Shockwave Moa is done.

As for Infested, they ARE overpowered. Some folks were surprised why I got killed by them on what they presumed was an easy mission, but I just got stunlocked to shit by the dogs.

You tried dodging out of that shit? You can dodge by hitting shift (sprint button) and a direction. Saved my ass once.

Also, you can curb the dogs by jumping on crates, they are confused by boxes. Even the biggest ones with ranged attacks aren't much trouble once you're on a box.

Or, you could play Banshee and hit 4 if they gang bang you. Proceed to laugh as you do.

The stealth kill on the dogs is hilarious. Instead of an elegant and badass single stab-and-sheath, you pounce on their backs and proceed to pound the fuck out of them with the butt of your rifle. Also, I keep seeing people shooting them in the torsos on streams and in videos. Please stop that. Their crit spots are their limbs, and maybe heads, but I dunno. You can actually blow off limbs like that! Doesn't stop them from being horribly frustrating to fight, but you can at least kill an Ancient in, like, two clips instead of seven.

-Switches melee attack to right click-

OH GOD THIS WORKS SO MUCH BETTER.

I went to buy some platinum, but @$%& that. The prices are insane. To get the "Female warframe bundle" I was eyeing costs 450 plat. That's roughly twenty five bucks, or five times what I was expecting to pay. If I wanted to add a few new weapons or colors the price would shoot up past "No new groceries for a week" levels. The prices might work for someone who knows exactly what they want and will stick with it, but an altoholic like me who wants all the frames eventually...?

Luckily it looks like you can earn plat through playing. Unluckily I spend some to fast-track my shiny new sword because I thought 25 plat was a pittance.

QuestionMarc Since: Oct, 2011 Relationship Status: Having tea with Cthulhu
#42: Apr 13th 2013 at 8:46:14 AM

You can get plat by playing?

Anyway, I wouldn't say it's worth it to get frames with plat, I mean, half the fun is working for them while having another frame that you're leveling at the same time and as you say, plat is pretty darn costly and frames too.

Tho buying a frame with plat does have the advantage of coming with an Orokin Reactor that double your mod capacity, along with not taking an inventory slot, so there's that.

I have since learned that the shield mooks are not so bad once you get them with a sword. I also remembered I had a shit load of mods I had forgotten about. So I loaded up all my gear as far as I could. Much better.

Even the heavy gunners are not so bad now.

The infected are nasty buggers. The Chargers just mob the shit out of you. They are the reason I got radial blind. Also dash cut to thin the numbers. Burns up energy though.

Almost to rank 2. I may switch to the Rhino or I may stay excalibur. Not sure which I want.

The Corpus are not so bad. the Moas are annoying though.

What the hell is the deal with the beam doors? Figured out you can bypass them with timed sprint jump and or jump kick. Is there another way to bypass them?

Always shoot cameras, even if they glow green (inactive).

Also, Rhino is much slowier and less mobile, keep that in mind. In return, you have a gigantic amount of armor (which apply only to your health btw) and a lot more crowd control.

And Rhino's charge is nothing like slash dash, so don't expect to be able to use it the same way.

Lex with +60% damage and +30% AP mods. Kills shit dead in one shot. Seriously, when I land a headshot, any unshielded Grineer keels over. From some crazy-ass range, to boot.

Now I have a Cronus and a Boltor cooking. I'll have the Boltor electrified for armored opponents and keep the Braton with fire mod for Infestation cleaning.

Heh, tried Lex myself. It's alright, but I don't like it as much as I liked Latron.

Pondering whether to buy that new assault rifle they released or buy a Gorgon as my next rifle.

Also, I'm so happy they tweaked the missions rewards, now the amount of credits received finally scale with the level of the mission. Being poor is a thing of the past for me, wheeee.

Also, anyone else got rotten luck with the daily reward lottery? I can't seem to get anything but consumable. (PS: the value of the rewards get greater the more days you connect in a row, stopping at 7 days, you get a new lottery at the same hour every day).

I freaking love Rhino's Iron Skin, at level 2, it last for years. Add on top of that a Fragor and you get something terrifying.

Also, I randomly got a skin blueprint for my Fragor, so yeaaaah.
