Can you do that?

I'd say so. Bret Iwan mentioned in an interview from 2011 how he got the part of Mickey through an audition process due to Wayne's declining health, and was personally picked by him to be an understudy. He then mentions how Wayne passed away before he could meet and work with them.

It's how Tony Anselmo got the job as Donald too, which is why he was so pissed that Disney hired another dude for Donald in Roadster Racers without consulting him.

I don't know whether Bill Farmer got the job as Goofy the same way.

I thought Daniel Ross was chosen to voice Donald in Roadster Racers because Tony was busy voicing Donald in other projects, like in video games, Ducktales 2017, this series, and the Three Caballeros series.

As for Bill Farmer as Goofy, he mentioned just doing a regular audition before he was cast in the role. The article is from 2014.

[up] Granted, Goofy never really had a single iconic voice actor in the same way that characters like Mickey or Donald did.

Pinto Clovig probably comes the closest, voicing him in the earliest appearances and throughout most of the 50s and 60s, but after he died in 1967, no one voiced the character on a permanent basis until Bill Farmer took over in 1987.

Random thought: maybe Cindy Robinson could take over as Minnie? I remember some comments saying her Amy Rose voice sounded a little like Minnie's at first until she found her groove...

[up]I don't think so... her work is (mostly) on anime (and I think as a result "She's non-union, I guess").

I think Romi Dames could be a good voice for Minnie. While she mainly uses her regular voice for characters like Lena Luthor and Musa , she did voice a character on Fresh Beat Band of Spies named Kitty Mittens, who has a very, Minnie like voice.

The show won an Annie Award for directing. It's for the episode "For Whom The Booth Tolls", directed by Alonso Ramirez Ramos.

[up] Yeah, the series is currently on hiatus until we heard news about Minnie's new voice actor in the future. Currently, at Walt Disney World's Christmas fireworks show "Minnie's Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks" and "Not So Spooky Spectacular Fireworks" Russi's voice lines are still used. But you can tell some of her lines were recorded by an unknown voice actor doing the best impression of Russi's Minnie.

I'm wondering why they didn't consider using archive audio of Russi Taylor until they could find a replacement? I mean, when you look at Mickey Mouse Clubhouse , all of Wayne Allwine's dialogue for season 3 was archive audio, and that season lasted until 2012.

[up] Maybe you could get away with that with a formulaic kiddy show, but I don't think that would work here. The shorts are way too varied to just rely on old audio, I think.

Also they wouldn't be able to do that for cultural shorts at all, she's in most of em.

First look at Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway in DHS (since it is based on these shorts.)

A few months late, but Elyse Willis who is involved with Runaway Railway posted this image of Russsi Taylor at the recording booth. It was posted as a tribute to her after the news of her passing last Summer.

The Marquee for Runaway Railway looks amazing.

The making of video is cool as well. It’s inspired by various Real Life marquees on the actual Chinese Theatre, and even uses real neon lights.

Apparently, Runaway Railway features the DuckTales (2017) version of Huey, Dewey and Louie. Or at least this advertisement does.

Interesting. It's like a mix between their Ducktales 2017 designs and their classic designs.

That's cool, and a fun repeat of how House of Mouse did the same thing with their Quack Pack designs (though they switched up the designs that time).

A new short called "Vacation Fun" can be seen in Disney's Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World. This short can be seen at the "Mickey Shorts Theater" and possibly Russi's final performance as Minnie. Minnie's voice is notable softer (unless that's a soundalike).
