Good to see this franchise is still alive. This looks sick af. Probably still gonna hold out on getting a PS5 tho bc 1. this game and FF7 Remake part 2 are the only titles that interest me so far and 2. that thing is stupid expensive.
FC: SW-1445-0294-1719/PSN: TekkenGirl4Lyfe/Currently playing: Fire Emblem: The Blazing BladeYeah, even as a huge Ratchet fan, I'll definitely be waiting till the PS5 gets a price drop/has more stuff I can't just get on PS4/is actually fucking available to purchase.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonSo what do you think Rivets' connection to Rachet will be?
Opposite gender alternate universe version of him. So in essence just a Distaff Counterpart and possible Love Interest.
Oissu!Today's State of Play presentation featuring Rift Apart has just concluded. Here's the new gameplay footage if you weren't able to watch:

Should we include the Wandavision & Falcon and Winter Soldier inspired clips in the YMMV of Rift Apart as memes?
As someone who's sleeping on both of those shows, I'm gonna go with no.
A bunch of new previews came out today
And in other, much sadder, news, Jim Ward won’t be returning to voice Quark in the game and is unfortunately retiring from voice acting due to severe health issues

GOH! JII! RAH!Damn that really sucks , but health should come first and hopefully the new actor can do a good job
I'll miss his radio announcer-like voice. Still, as Nouct says, health comes first.
Anyway, how did you feel about the shift from satirical and dry humor about consumerism on the PS2 games to some epic narrative where our heroes are suddenly The Chosen One on the PS3 games?
I personally hope Rift Apart does something a bit more interesting than the latter.

Well I suddenly felt a craving for a Ratchet and Clank game but sadly only one game is available on modern consoles without having to access PS Now.
So I’m currently playing the remake cause it’s the only one available and I had previously downloaded it for free as a PS Plus bonus.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."The Ratchet & Clank collection is available on PS 3 if you got one.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I do but I'm not sure if it works.
Man they should report that collection. Pretty crazy how the last gen only had one game compared to the 2000s which had 7 games.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I didn't initially read that as "re-port" and I was so confused, I was like "report it for what? As in like report it to Sony/Insomniac/whoever for some of the problems it has? Huh? What?"
FC: SW-1445-0294-1719/PSN: TekkenGirl4Lyfe/Currently playing: Fire Emblem: The Blazing BladeHonestly, I couldn't stand the shift and almost felt like I was forcing myself through To D and A Ci T. Especially that quote praising To D as being like "playing in a Pixar movie", have actually groaned whenever that gets brought up.
Never even finished a single hero mode run of either yet; whereas to this day (indeed the last six months) I can still burn through the original trilogy every now and again no problem, even pushing for 100% completion. Once summer is under way I'll be adding Deadlocked to that as well.
Which isn't to say that the Future games are bad, but they didn't particularly feel like the Ratchet games I fell in love with as a kid. Although playing through the original trilogy again, I do find myself viewing UYA a little bit more critically than I used to where world design is concerned, and how it plants the seeds the Future games sprouted from, both in there and with regards to the story stepping away from satire towards more heroic "epics".
And on the flipside, I as an adult can appreciate the first two games on a whole new level, satirically, design-wise, mechanic-wise, etc.
With all that said, once I scratch my Deadlocked itch I do intend to give the Future games another run. The Clank puzzles in A Ci T absolutely stomp on all Clank sections that came before them, by orders of magnitude; and I really hope RA has something that approaches them in terms of stimulation and creativity.
Also from what we've seen the weapons in RA appear to be a lot more unique than the genericish "bomb, blaster, droid, missile, ryno" rut that the games felt like they spiraled into, so that's a big plus.
My other largest criticism of the Future games (and again UYA to a lesser extent), is the decreased focus on gadgets, which always made the first two games feel a bit more "real" and adventury, in my opinion. The rift mechanic certainly looks very interesting and like it might help in that regard, but I still want more than just swingshot & charge/hover boots. I can't remember if the Future games had any hacking puzzles, or if the dynamo is even still there (as a player convenience aspect, I liked merging the dynamo and swingshot into the hypershot in UYA, though it did contribute to feeling that the game was lacking on the gadget front).
And finally, I really hope we can finally leave Polaris behind or else give it an actual identity. I miss the feeling of a widespread civilization that Solana and Bogan had. Doesn't mean we have to go back to them, but Polaris as a whole just feels dull to me.
PSN ID: FateSeraph Congratulations! She/TheyBy all accounts, the first game is still the best. In terms of world design, character and story, and, your mileage may vary, gameplay.
Ra C 1, 2, and Deadlocked also had a narrative focused on the criticism of commercialism (and the classic series' aesthetic in general fits right into that idea), something which the series drifted away from after Deadlocked.
Also, I've never liked the retcon that Ratchet is the last of his kind (which is most certainly a retcon, as the Veldin building design in Ra C 3 was meant to be evocative of lombaxes in general, and Angela Cross was intended to be a lombax and they spent 0 time having either character questioning meeting another lombax). Just feels cheap to me.
I do writing, feel free to check out my stories here! https://numbugwritingblog.tumblr.com/post/686233243868102656/numbugs-shared-heroic-uniDeadlock was one of the my favorite games, replayed it a crap ton when I was kid. Pretty brutal.
It be cool to make another game in the vein of it especially to have one without the various development problems it had.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I'd test your PS3 to see if it works.
I should also say if you have a Vita, the collection is available on that. Though even if you get the Physical Cartridge, you'd still have to download Up Your Arsenal as I don't think it's on the cart. I think the same thing applies with the Vita ports of the Jak and Sly collections as well.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!Ooooof good lord seeing Ratchet buy into Qwark’s bullshit is painful. :/
He wasn’t this much of a fanboy in the original game right?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Nah, RaC 1 Ratchet was a little bit on board at the start but it was Clank who was really pushing to meet Qwark, and Ratchet caught on to something not being quite right during Qwark’s training course.
