Or it could be pure Rule of Funny in effect.

He's a Mysterious Being. They all transformed due to doing something obsessively. Eating crab, shadow-boxing a light cord, stuff like that. Saitama obsessively trained for three years straight to "become a hero". Then his hair fell out because a "hero-man" doesn't look all that much different to a normal person.

Man, I really should catch up. I hope they get spectacular seiyuu.

Saitama's workout routine was strenuous, but surprisingly kind of reasonable. This was actually the joke. He didn't train harder than anyone else has ever trained, he just trained a kind of normal amount for someone who wants to be really fit. The fact that this gave him superpowers is totally nonsensical and why Genos is studying him so closely.

In-story, they've sort of alluded to the fact that he surpassed his "mental limiter" normally prevents people from reaching their full potential. This was just some side character's guess though.

But...

I kind of expected Saitama's half-assed mode to look monochrome too.

Good:

• Madhouse (yay!)
• Art style looks great

Bad:

• They're making this anime while the webcomic, and the redrawn comic are still being made. And we all know how that usually turns out.
• The concept's fresh, the animation/art style's fast and action-y, and the main character unique. This is probably going to be the next Attack on Titan/Sword Art Online in terms of popularity and I'll get sick of hearing how this is the best anime ever on Crunchyroll/hulu.

it's funny because back when Attack on Titan was just this cult hit manga, people didn't scrutinize it anywhere near as much. whenever something gets popular people tend to be much more critical of it.

Saitama's starting a superhero harem social circle? He's turning into Son Goku.

He seems to have some sort of magnetic quality about him. Maybe it's his easygoing and relaxed tone? Maybe it's the humility despite being the strongest being on the planet.

Who knows.

Saitama is a chill dude.

Got to find some way to entertain yourself when you can kill anything in one punch.

ch 101: I kinda feel bad for Tatsu-chan. Hopefully Saitama can reach her with minimal ass-kicking.

Chapter 101 ended on quite the cliffhanger. XD I can't wait for chapter 102 to come out.

honestly it seems pretty good. they did a good job of replicating murata's drawings and the animation quality seems up to par.

Also, the scan I read was mislabeled. Saitama's met Garou. And that is honestly my favorite chapter thus far.

Oh man chapter 102 is starting to be posted, and it was worth the wait.

Saitama vs. Tatsumaki is going to be fantastic. Probably still not much of a fight, but man it's going to be satisfying.

I admit I kinda laughed when Saitama just said Fubuki is an acquaintance and nothing else.

Thing is, it's an honest answer.

what has she done other than show up, annoy him, and then claim he's part of her group? Probably the only people he considers friends are King, Lincenseless Rider, and Genos. Even Bang is more of an acquaintance, just one who actually minds his manners.

Thus Satima will always be polite to Bang.
