... The Tremblay brothers are Canadian. French-Canadian, even; from all that I can find, they're originally from around Montreal.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.Right, but the influence of the show was steeped in American concepts, since it was developed by French Canadians, but produced and written by Hannah-Barbera. Though ironically some of its more distinctive visual aspects came from episodes animated by a Japanese contractor.
Bumping from some news off of Kickstarter. The updates have said that a "Major Hollywood Studio" has expressed interest in the project and that they've begun development. A snippet of script was shown as an image background, and it seems like they're going with a sort of "Dark Knight Rises" setup, where T-Bone and Razor have been retired for a while and need to get back in the game. Looks like they got Glenn Leopold back to do more scripts.
That's great! Hope it actually goes to production.
I hope that the time spent away from SWAT Kats has made them Older and Wiser. I mean, there have been times where a creator returns to do something new only to muck them up somehow.
Also, what do you guys think they'll do with Feral now that his VA passed on? Think they'll do a The Character Died with Him thing and have his niece (can't remember her name) take over as Commander?
I don't think they'll take it that seriously, to be honest. Beloved as the old show was, it's not like it was that long-lasting to the point where the VA's really owned the characters. Get who you can, replace who isn't available.
Dark Kat's VA is dead too, i think, and while i could see doing a new SK without Feral (replacing him with Felina like you said), you really can't do it without Dark Kat.

They could just get Jeff Bennett to do Dark Kat. He definitely has the range for it.

Darkwing Duck did it before!
In all seriousness, I hope that means by now Callie is the major herself instead of still playing second banana to a buffoon who delegates his responsibilities on her.
Nonsense. You just can't get rid of the mayor. XD
I honestly wonder why none of the villains killed him considering how annoying and useless he is.....
I wonder how much older looking Calie will be. Like crows feet and wrinkles but still young and beautiful?
"We be we baby!"The more annoying and useless a character is in a children oriented entertainment piece, the higher their survival odds are.
I don't think they're going so far in the future that folks will visibly age. I could see Chance, Jake, and Callie all having been 20-somethings (which is a bit of a stretch for Deputy Mayor IRL, maybe if she was like 28-29 and had a stellar career post right out of college), and now they would just be in their 30s, perhaps, with the former two being less hotheaded and more grounded.
And hey, Mayor Manx beat the Red Lynx in one episode.
Some things from this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VwiLQ-FJi_g
- Revolution is going to be a continuation of the original Swat Kats.
- There will be a time skip.
- They will be partially obsolete due to advancing technology.
- A hacker will be joining the team, either as a man or woman, when (s)he gets into the Swat Kats' base.
- T-bone's grandfather, named Cougar, will come back.
- They don't plan on having the tone any darker than the mummy one.

Get out of my mind, idea! I already have an idea in there! How dark was the mummy episode?
I think two people/cats (graverobbers) died in that episode? Having a hard time remembering it...

It's hard to say whether that's super dark or not because they were graverobbers possibly and it depends on how it was handled/shown.
The mummy episode was actually the Pastmaster's last appearance, "The Deadly Pyramid," where he revived some ancient mummies from the pyramid of Kacchu-Picchu (the ever-loving puns). They were about as tall as a two-story house and were impossible to knock down unless you cracked their glass visors and then shined light in them (so just cracking them outside in the day would do it).
I'm not sure how many, if any, people died in that one. Maybe a busload of tourists that fell off a cliff? The show did more about implied death in other episodes.
Good summary. Much as i love the series, not willing to sit through a 1-hour panel.
Half of the panel was Q&A.
Get out of my mind, idea! I already have an idea in there!Did they say who would be in charge of the Enforcers?
Long live Cinematech. FC:0259-0435-4987They did not, but they did hint that one episode would happen in a cemetery.
Get out of my mind, idea! I already have an idea in there!@115 Neat. I was hoping this wouldn't be a reboot. I'm going to predict that the hacker will be female right now; just feels like the kind of move that a revival would do.
@123 According to what I'm reading, they are still working on the b-reel before they begin shopping the concept to television companies. So they haven't even gotten to the point where anyone could be negotiated with, let alone announced. I don't know the exact turnaround time, but I guess we probably shouldn't be expecting those kinds of announcements yet.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.T-Bone and Razor getting a Mission Control makes a lot of sense, it expands the plots so they can do more than just fight stuff.
What? The show runs on pure adrenaline. The Studio Clamp anime which followed are but imitators of the original embodiment of the American era of Totally Radical
